    Just came across this video while trying to research for an ac adapter and remote, but having no luck. I found this XBR-49X800E tv while cleaning out a home for a neighbor. The neighbor gave it to me as a kind gesture, but without the 2 items needed to check it for power, I am just stuck never knowing if it works or if its broken...

    Thanks so much for taking your time to make this video. I have the 43 inch version and it got burned out by lightning coming through the cable box/hdmi cable ground. I thought maybe it was only the external power supply brick which I checked and got a replacement for but there is more damage. I was very concerned about having to remove the whole back cover, but this showed me that I didn't need to and verified it by looking at the back of mine,. Also the parts are virtually the same thankfully, though I'm getting the ones specifically for the 43 inch to be sure. So hopefully for $75 inpats and some of my time, I get by $700 set back. Again your taking your time to do this has been of wonderful and great service and is deeply appreciated.

    How to diagnose this TV not to turn on at all, no image, no power. I replaced a power board but still not turning on. What board can be responsible for not turning on the TV Sony XBR49X800E?

    Appreciate the video! I have a Sony XBR-49X800E and bought it new just under 3 years ago. Went to use the TV the other night and it wouldn't and still will not turn on. No power light of any kind turning on whatsoever. I've done all the troubleshooting for power reset, trying other outlets, and even bought a new power cord with no relieve or signs of life. I'm at a lose of what the problem is and frankly kinda shocked it crapped out on me in under 3 years with minimal day use. Ideas/Thoughts of what/where the problem would be?

    I have a Sony XBR-49x800E. My screen suddenly turned to a bluish/dark grey color. I could hear the tv show still running and was able to get the tv to action commands from the remote (even though I could not see squat on the screen). This tells me that the issue has to do with the screen which led me to believe it was the LED driver board. Do you agree with that diagnosis (I'm no expert on smart tv's by the way. I'm just doing this by logic). Let me know your assessment so I can buy the board that needs replacement. Thanks C.Rausseo

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday  3 года назад

      LED driver would be a great place to start. If the backlights are totally out and not lighting up at all, there could also be an issue with the power supply board or the backlights themselves. If you are still seeing some illumination coming from the screen, there could be an issue with the main board. If you would like a little more direction and maybe someone to bounce ideas or troubleshooting off of , give us a call at (800)203-7484 and someone can help you get pointed in the right direction.

    I have this TV and randomly the other day the wifi stopped working. I reset the router as usual but it still wouldn’t work. When I go to the settings and toggle the wifi to the ‘on’ position it toggles itself back off automatically, making it impossible to connect to the router.
    Despite resting the tv by unplugging it for 2 minutes and even factory resetting it, it continues to do the same. I hooked up an Ethernet cable to try do a software update but it says it is up to date. Wondering if it’s a hardware issue now? Like if I ordered the wifi part and replaced it would that fix it? Originally thought it was a software issue but I’ve tried everything to fix it that way with no success

      Hello,
      If you have already tried the factory reset we would suggest replacing the main board if the Wi-Fi board is connected to it.

    I did do a factory reset. Noticed when we move the tv putting pressure on the screen on some edges the picture will go on/off. I think this is the main issue. Do you think the panel itself may be damaged?

    • @tvpartstoday

      It does sound like panel damage. Being able to get picture from pressing lightly on the edges of the screen is a pretty good sign that there is an issue in the panel.

    • @tvpartstoday

      I would recommend replacing the main board first as it sounds like the clicking you are referring to is the power supply board attempting to come out of standby but being unable to do so. The issue you are describing could be caused by either the main board or the power supply board but I would start with the main board.
