Someone who needed the walker would not be able to go up and down stairs like that.

It was a training exercise before walking around Europe with this Veloped walker as part of the BALTICA ATLANTICA walk of 15,000 km. This was therefore an extraordinary exercise. www.aillet.com

Yes they would - I can sling stuff about but I can't walk for toffee - why do people feel the need to judge other people's abilities?

What you are saying is completely wrong. balance is a huge issue when you have problems with your legs or knees. walkers are often used for that reason alone. ive got compartment syndrome in my right leg...i can feel around 80% of my foot and calf and can put some weight on it but cannot actually walk unless i use a walker unfortunately. when something like this happens to you it makes you realize the importance of walkers and how they are needed in different situations. losing the ability to walk normally is an unbelievably hard thing to deal with and one should not judge or assess someones ability to walk unless they understand what they are talking about.

People who use walkers can also often do stairs too. Half of them hold the walker up in the air 20% of the time too. It's just for assistance. Others are more dependent, but quite a gamut.

Depends. I have a muscle disease that eats my core muscles. I have to use a walker to keep my body upright. My legs work fine, as do my arms. I often take my walker up and down the stairs (sometimes to avoid those long wheelchair paths!) So....it just depends! #dermatomyositis
