I have been subscribed to Antstream for a WHILE now and have grown to really love the service. Between the challenges and the sheer breadth of content, there's A LOT to like here for us retro gamers! So glad to see it added to XBOX Gamepass!!
I was super excited hearing about this .. I jumped on it as soon as i got the info .. my first time discovering Antstream was on the Atari VCS .. made it like a whole new console and i can see and hope its going to grow more and more ..so many classic consoles with so many awesome games ...thanks for the information great video
Never heard of Antstream but, wow these guys are truly on the ball here, very sincere and passionate. This is a true legitimate game preservation with original developers on board, definitely getting this tonight! Many thanks😁
just saw the short for this and had to listen to the whole interview. this seems very intriguing. I really want to try this service out. Going to keep an eye on this for sure. I've seen some titles I like that I already own like Metal Slug, Mortal Kombat and such. Really great job on this, Luke!
This is a great idea but it seems you have to subscribe for each system you play on (Xbox, PC, and Nintendo and PlayStation in future etc). That negates one of the main advantages of a streaming platform, which should be pay once, play anywhere. I don’t really want to pay a sub on Xbox PC, Switch etc if I’m streaming.
Tried on my series x yesterday, everything worked great however a recommendation would be to have the title names as well as game cover please on home screen. I also noticed games like pinball dreams is from SNES as well as Amiga and the Amiga version is significantly better in sound and graphic clarity so maybe a console list at the top rather than filter search?
I LOVE this!! Im so tired of retro compilations that repeat the same titles (SEGA) or never adding unique hits from their catalog!. All I'd like is: 1) Every Sega arcade racer, especially SCUD RACER, and Daytona 2. 2) the original Pitfall and it's sequel. 3) Keystone Capers 4) Original Metal Gear 5) The arcade version of the original Double Dragon. 6) Earthworm Jim 1 and 2 7) Toejam and Earl 3. 8) Virtua Fighter 3 I can retire comfortably knowing I have access to those games on my Xbox.

So before I subscribe... If I sign up for Antstream for a year on Xbox. Can I use that same account to play AntStream on my Phone?? If it is all one account I am going to sign up.... If it is separate then I probably won't. I hope I hear back from someone on this!
No it's a separate account. I believe they're working on unifying but that won't be for a bit. It's cheap on PC/Phone and not bad on Xbox, but definitely not as good as unified.
The C64 collection is huge but all the big hitters are missing ... No system 3 games, No Rambo, Green Beret,Turbo Outrun, Bionic Commando, Turricaine, Commando, Batman, Rainbow Islands, Bombjack, Arkanoid, Paperboy, Pacland, Zamzara all sadly missing 😪
I agree with some said below, since its cloud based there should be a timed trial so people can see if their internet can handle it. I've heard complaints about lag/suttering while playing. Most people I would think now days it should be no problem, but you never know.
He was wrong about genesis getting dominated in the United States 🇺🇸 genesis was more popular in the United States after sonic the hedgehog. The genesis didn't do well in Japan but was really successful in the US.
Its let down by its awful search menu. Why cant you just have each system on the screen to click on and then see its available games. I clicked on all games and it brought up about 200 out of the 1400 available. Its not that difficult to come up with a half decent search menu is it. Then when you do find the games it only shows you a thumbnail picture of the game cover without the title. Annoying because its something that could be so easily fixed

There are still some availability gaps in certain countries. Eg only lifetime is available in Australia not the 12 month option
