We are back in PAKISTAN!!! This is our brand new series, covering Pakistan’s most beautiful hidden gem: THE NORTH! We are kicking off the series in Islamabad (where you will likely begin your journey too). We’re here to show you the BEST food you can have in the beautiful capital city of Islamabad.
We start the day meeting up with our good friend and Islamabad expert, Sulmeen. We head to the Margalla Hills, the foothills of the Himalayas, and up into the historical village of Saidpur. This cute village is a great place to witness traditional culture, artisan handicrafts, and stunning views. Here we saw a 16th century Hindu Temple “Ramkun Temple” and a local man showed us historical pictures of Islamabad’s growth as a city.
We stopped into Des Pardes for breakfast and ordered Anda Channay (chickpeas & eggs), Aloo Bhujia (moth bean & potato), various paratha with desi ghee and ginger chai. We were so excited to taste Pakistani flavours again and the amazing chai, and we were not disappointed!
Now it was time for some STREET FOOD! We went to a traditional stall making samosas SUPER FRESH! As soon as they came out of the oil, we ordered vegetable and qeema (minced meat) samosas. They were served with raita and chutney on the side for dipping. WOW these samosas were delicious!
To wash down all of those savoury foods, we needed to head to a traditional Pakistani sweet shop for some classic desserts. We ordered Rasmalai, Gulab Jamun and a specialty platter with tons of different treats!
In the evening, we went to the best hotel in the city, Serena Hotel Islamabad (we stayed in this hotel, in the Junior Suite - highly recommend!). Aside from its beautiful construction with details of Northern Pakistani architecture, and their commitment to sustainability, the hotel is also home to several restaurants including the award-winning Dawat Restaurant. We were able to try food from many regions of the country, including Balochistan, Punjab, and more!

Okay, I just watched this vlog. Respect to Luke and Sabrina for always maintaining impeccable table manners. What I like about them the most is that they are not greedy hogs (unlike certain other well known foodie vloggers). Luke and Sabrina will try every dish that is presented to them, but they do not eat the entire kitchen food inventory. They eat only a modest amount. In Asian and Arab culture, gluttony is very much frowned upon. It is said that 'one who cannot control his appetite, also cannot control his other base desires'. Well done Luke and Sabrina for respecting other cultural values.

The narrator should have at least given credits. Bengali sweet dishes like "chom chom", Bengali style "Roso-malai" cannot be termed traditional food of Pakistan. Infact there isn’t any authentic food of them at all. All either imported or copied

Ahnaf Rahman, these kind of Samosa are everywhere in subcontinent and the only thing make them different is the one who make them.
The narrators do mention the word "Bengali" when she shows the Bengali style sweets and samasoas.

I can give you a estimate
The breakfast is almost about 10 usd.
5 samosas won’t cost you more than a dollar.
Sweets are sold per kg in Pakistan on average you can get 1 kg (around 2 pounds) for not more than 5 dollar. But some restaurants sell pieces of 2 (the gulab jamun) for probably a dollar. Same goes for Ras Malai.
Hotels vary a lot depending on area so plan ahead.
