Sly & the Family Stone - Family Affair (Unreleased Full Version)

Released in 1971 as the lead single from their dark funk masterpiece 'There's a Riot Goin' On', 'Family Affair' became Sly & the Family Stone's third and final #1 single in the US. The multitracks reveal another minute after the fadeout, including an abrupt and completely different tune and tempo switch in the last few seconds. Even Sly himself was caught by surprise when he heard the multitracks again in 2013 ( • Sly & The Family Stone... ). Finally, we get to hear that ending properly - no copyright infringement intended and enjoy!

WWWWOOOOOOWWWW! Where did you get this? The RUclips clip of Sly and the band listening to the mastertapes I've seen... But this? YYYYEEEESSSS!!!! I wish they would release this kind of stuff and instrumentals. I'd pay up for a box set of this sort of thing in a heartbeat!! Thanks for the post NAZ!!!

@@nazbernard I just wish there was more from this period. The sound quality is fantastic too. I have the CD reissues and the japanese Alternative FRESH album but that's it. When I was watching the clip of the band listening to the playback I was just gobsmacked at what I was hearing. They were innovative and brilliant as a band!!! And then I found your post. I won't ask you where you got it... I'm just grateful haha! I guess it's too much to hope for that they would release the sessions for RIOT, STAND and onwards. The Beatles and the Beach Boys get the full treatment, The Family Stone are just as important to music evolution. I even love the JUST LIKE YOU single by 6IX that Sly produced around the same time. Oh well... maybe one day hey
