Between getting a treatments at the doctor and the severe weather in tornadoes and stuff we've had here that's done a bunch of damage I haven't been able to get on here much. Nah, Viserys never taught Rhaenyra ANYTHING about ruling… Anytime she had something to say, she was interrupted, talked over, or shown the door. Then, when she flexed some actual rulership muscles and flew to Dragonstone to (successfully) retrieve the egg Daemon stole, she was chastised. She was constantly overruled, put down, and overshadowed by Otto and Viserys while she was cupbearer. She should have been given an actual seat beside her father, as she was FAR too old to still be cupbearer at 15-16. While I believe this was mostly Otto’s doing, Viserys never took his daughter under his wing and taught her anything when they weren’t at the Small Council. I’d go so far as to say that the only thing he DID DO was relay Aegon’s Prophecy to her. In the show, we see Daemon giving her a couple of pointers, and we see Corlys support her once, as well. She has to learn how to rule pretty much on her own… despite the purely revenge-driven mindset of her husband. At the end of S1, she has to weigh her options and decide if war is worth her right to sit on the Iron Throne, or if it’s better for the realm and her loved ones to just let the usurper keep it. THAT is a real ruler… even if she’s purely self-taught.
Huh? I’m sorry but this is just false, he absolutely prepped her, far more than Aegon was prepped. She sat in on council meetings, viserys took her everywhere with him even on Royal hunts. Plus making her tour Westeros as a child, all of these things helped her become more prepared to rule than Aegon

I’ve watched and rewatched, a few times with a keen eye specifically looking out for exactly HOW Rhaenyra was prepared to rule. Viserys utterly FAILED her as a father and as her predecessor. As I said, others stepped in and gave her pointers. Even Rhaenys did a few times. While it’s true that Aegon didn’t get any tutelage regarding ruling either, it’s probably due to the fact that he was a delinquent, abusive, drunkard… even as a very young person. How can you teach someone the intricacies of ruling if they are never around, or constantly hungover and lashing out violently when you correct them? Otto should have been doing this behind Viserys’ back if he TRULY wanted his grandson to take the Iron Throne. PERIOD. We do see both Alicent and Otto correct Aegon here and there, and we see Alicent give him some tough love while on the way to his coronation. Aegon never felt love from his father, and i would venture to say that Rhaenyra felt the same way. She was constantly overshadowed by a brother she didn’t even have, and her own father didn’t care enough to physically TEACH HER how to rule. Viserys made every single mistake he could possibly make… the biggest being marrying a person from a power-hungry family over one from a known ally (as skin crawling as that statement is, he should have waited a few years and let Laena grow up, and they wouldn’t have had the problems that led to the demise of their dragons and their reign). Viserys relied too heavily on his hands, even when he was healthy. Maybe he didn’t know how to rule, either… idk. But he should have made it his life’s work to train Rhaenyra up to be the best ruler she could be. After all, he knew Aegon’s prophecy for years. He knew what was at stake here. When no male heir was given him, he should have gotten on the ball. It’s one thing to name your daughter as your heir in front of the entire realm, but if you don’t give her the tools and show her how to use them, your house falls down around her.
Blood and Cheese episodes are going to be sad, for everyone that knows the story knows why! And also the ending of the battle of Rooks rest will be to, also for those that know the story knows why to! So can’t wait to see even more Dragons, especially the Wild Dragons. Cannibal. Sheepstealer. I’m sure we will see.
biggest difference is Robb and cat were main characters that we never expected to lose so soon, AEGON's kids haven't had any screen time except for a few brief scenes. this will be a crazy, shocking moment for sure, but it won't compare to the red wedding
I guess it's what you get when you take a 24 yo actress to cast a 16 yo girl character and a 30 yo actress to cast a 40 yo character. Of course they don't seem to age.
Season 2 gonna be insane cant wait to see more of the dragons and blood and cheese gonna be epic but also im interested in aemond as he is the main antagonist of the greens for sure
Yea these next 2 weeks can't pass soon enough. Looking forward to seeing how Aemond handles the events of Rooks Rest & the aftermath. Should be an interesting season.
He does have Valyrian blood but according to the very specific Dragonlore GRRM sets up in Fire & Blood, he shouldn't be able to claim Seasmoke until after Laenor is dead. Not sure how the show is going to correct that mistake but looking forward to seeing what they do.
