Modern Style in Mallorca. 1 Palma

Modernism arrived in Mallorca with the presence of figures such as Antonio Gaudí with his reform of La Seu (1903-1914) and Lluís Domènech i Montaner with the design of the Gran Hotel (1901-1903).
This movement takes place in Europe between the last decade of the 19th century and the first decade of the 20th. There is no consensus on its name, Modernisme in Spain, Art Nouveau in France, Jugendestil in Germany, Sezessionsstil in Austria, Floreale or Liberty in Italy, Modern Style in England.
Modernism touches all styles, all trades, all arts, opera, literature, music, jewelry, gardening, furniture, graphic arts, but it does not have a specific style. It is a cultural and artistic current, contrary to the Art Deco that follows it, which does have its own identity.
