This right here is why Golden is the best. I really appreciate how transparent the company is and how easy it is to communicate with them when I have a question. I love Golden products.

Not everything is under humans' control. And if/when anything happens I have complete confidence in this company. They immediately do all they can (and more!) to make it right. Also, communication is awesome. Much appreciated!

This is one of the best things about this company. Accountability (besides the amazing water colors!) One of the pieces of advice I read when first starting out was...save the cap when you have an empty tube. I can't tell you how many caps I have broken. I am really careful though about wiping the rim of my tubes whenever I open them.

I'm so happy! I had a very long painting dry spell (no pun intended) and when i tried to get back into it the first (acrylic) paints i opened back up were hard as a rock. They weren't golden products. I didn't check the rest of my paints because it was too disheartening to think of all those paints having gone to waste... so i was trying to develop ideas for utilizing the dried paint. But when i saw this video i rushed into my studio, pulled out my golden paints/mediums and they're still in great condition!! Thank you! 🙏😊💞

I like to paint with thick expressive brush strokes, so I love when an old half-empty jar starts to thicken up and stiffen. It feels like the paint shrinks less, so the peaks remain pointier.
Unfortunately, the paint doesn't remain in that state for very long. Gotta move fast!
I appreciate the transparency going on here, and I also like the new caps. My teeth thank you.

It would be nice to be able to purchase extra caps... also maybe squeeze bottle caps with large & small tips that can fit onto tubes... just a thought

I did a painting of a boat on water and used the open acrylics for the water surface. Everyone was asking how I got the water so real and shiny looking 😊

I wish you made the same tops that Liquitex have. I can squeeze out on my pallet and my piece. They "pop" on and don't need to be unscrewed at all.

More and more companies that I have been loyal to for decades have been making me feel like I am just a faceless commodity to them. This is refreshing. Artists need 'scaffolding' to support their concepts. I appreciate how innovative Golden is in developing products.

I have been using golden paints starting with the fluid acrylics in the mid 80s and I just wouldn’t use any other kind of paint because the quality is so high and the customer service is so fantastic. Here’s a testament to the quality of your paints: my sales were doing really well until the 2008 crash, which I lost all of my galleries and other sales and recovered since then. Because I was doing so well I stocked up on a lot of your heavy body mat pants, but my life took a huge turn in 2009 when I got divorced and I have been carting these paints around with me ever since all over the country and even to Mexico and they’re still just as vibrant and usable as ever. I have to open them now and then and stir them around with some medium and water and mostly they come back to new. I lost some because I had not put the lid on tight enough and ended up with a block of plastic unfortunately. But I have most of them.
I do have a question for you you used to have something called Turner, gouache, and Japanesque things which I no longer see on your website so I assume you’re no longer making them. Will the flat new colors work like gouche?

    • @GoldenPaints
      @GoldenPaints  Год назад

Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your experience! To answer your question, we did not make Turner gouache, but we did have Heavy Body Matte and Fluid Matte acrylics that have since been discontinued and replaced with our SoFlat Matte Acrylics. SoFlat is an acrylic, but it will be well suited to applications where you might use a gouache or acrylic gouache. It has a lovely matte sheen and has some leveling built in for applications where flatness is important. So yes, it would be a good option if you love gouache!

6:38 That happened to my Carbon Black from a relatively new paint tube! I couldn’t figure out what happened as it hadn’t arrived like that. It ended up too thick to easily paint with or even get out of the tube.

using caps that are like the heads of bolts that socket wrenches are designed to open would be a good idea since buying hardware store stocket wrenches would be easy on the budget and would work perfectly.

Thanks for your comments, Larry. Re: adding Vaseline - it can ease removal of a paint cap but it can also contaminate the paint. A bit of plastic wrap is another idea. We agree that cleaning the threads after each use helps!
We'll share your note re: cap design with the brand team.

@GoldenPaints I guess I will rewatch the video. I always wondered why the price was SO high then my daughter said something like maybe it became sooo expensive to creat or there's a lack of materials ( shes a Art& Literature Uni sudent, but im the painting one...) so she was right I guess. Oh and thx for your reply!!
