    Would those sewing flaws bother you on a new tent or no big deal?

      I definitely like your review videos. I take it this is your personal favorite of the 4. How long have you had it and how has that stitching you pointed out held up? If I were to go this route I live close to Anchor Industries and they would be handy to help with repairs, I reckon.

      @@dschenk952 Thanks for the comment and for watching! I've only had this tent for a little less than a year and with the others I have I haven't used this one a ton. My favorite is actually the Springbar thanks to the hot tent readiness and the fact that it's a bigger size that fits my family a bit better. But despite the sewing flaws in this one, they're not a deal breaker for me. Sure it kinda sucks to get a less than perfect specimen when you spend that much money on a tent but I could repair of I wanted, bit even without doing anything it functions just the same. And I haven't even asked Teton to do anything about it so who knows if they'd replace it or fix it or what. In any case, not the end of the world and this is a fine tent. Except for the janky top bar, I'm not a fan of that.

    Ive had this tent for over a year. Used it once/twice a month for scouts and its still in excellent condition. No tears or issues with material or poles

    I would like to see the Teton, Kodiak and Springbar tents all together for a direct comparison video.

      @@theoutdoorempire I own a Kodiak, myself and have had good luck with it but was impressed on the quality of the Springbar on a review video. Just wondering if the upgrade in quality is worth the additional cost. Springbar is a family owned, American made product so that alone is worth knowing. Met a guy last winter who owned a Teton. Looked like a direct clone of the Kodiak. My ranking of the quality comparison of the three, which matches the cost comparisons as well are:
      1 Springbar
      2 Kodiak
      3 Teton
      I'm curious if you arrive at the same ranking.

    • @theoutdoorempire
      @theoutdoorempire  Год назад +1

      It's pretty darn close. I compared the White Duck Prota as well which is a very similar design. Kodiak is definitely nice quality as is the Springbar. If you check out my other video on the Springbar Classic Jack you'll see what I mean. The comparison video next week should answer all your questions, but reach out if not. It's important to note that Springbar still makes a lot of their tents in the US and they are top-notch quality, but they also make some overseas that are priced on par with Kodiak. Check out the Classic Jack 140 hot tent setup (review on my channel).

      @@theoutdoorempire The Springbar Traveler is all-American made while the Classic Jacks are designed in the US but cut and sewned in China. Both Kodiak and Teton are all-Chinese products. The beefy reinforcement of the Springbar stake down points was impressive.
      Springbar is very upfront with their production lines. They have an American made line-up as well as an Import lineup.

      Indeed, you're spot on! It's pretty awesome that Springbar still makes tents in Salt Lake City, Utah. And I do really like the design of the stake down points on the Classic Jack. It's simple but tough and sheds water way from the walls.

    Purchased a 10x14 on sale with a 20% off promo code. Total was under $525 shipped. Could not beat it for that price point

      Nice! It's price is definitely attractive anyway, but that's a sweet deal.

    Thanks for all of your great videos! Have you ever heard of someone installing a wood stove in a Teton Mesa?

    • @theoutdoorempire
      @theoutdoorempire  8 месяцев назад +1

      You're welcome, and thank you for watching! No, I don't know of anyone personally who has installed a stove in a Mesa tent. I've read about guys doing it in Kodiak tents and there are kits you can buy to install a stove jack, but it might void a warranty. I bet it could be done though.

    Thank you! It was not easy to find trustworthy reviews on this one. Was wondering if I should invest the extra 300 and get the “better” brand version

      Glad you found it helpful! I did another video where I compared the Teton side by side with the Kodiak, Springbar, and White Duck. That might give you even more detail.

    Any idea what the 10x10 canvas package alone weighs? I know the total weight is 71#s. I'm 75 y/o, would hope just the canvas is 40#s or less. Thanks, Ron

      You're in luck, I actually weighed that a couple months ago when someone had the same question on a different video. According to my own scale, the Teton Mesa 10x10 tent bag weighs 38 lbs and the pole bag is 28 lbs for a total of 66 lbs.
