Adwait Sangeet is a 90 minute documentary film based on the Journey of Life and Music of the Legendary Indian Classical Vocalists from Banaras Gharana, PadmBhushan Pt. Rajan and Pt. Sajan Mishra. The film was showcased as the opening film of International Film Festival (Indian Panaroma Section), Goa in the year 2011. This documentary film has travelled the world, and has been featured in various International Film Festivals in the USA, Canada, Europe and South East Asia.
Makarand Brahme, the Director and producer of Adwait Sangeet, 90 minutes documentary film, is an avid classical music lover and has been involved in advertising media, Television, films and Theater field in various capacities. Started his career as an actor in Marathi experimental Theater group Theater Academy Pune, with its most celebrated play called "Ghashiram Kotwal ". After that graduated from Theater to Television industry and then into the film industry as a producer Director and Actor. With a vast experience in the advertising and media field, he developed a keen eye for every subject and stylized presentation. After producing many Ad films, corporate films, Adwait Sangeet is his first directorial venture in non fiction category. In 2011, Pt Rajan Mishra was to celebrate his 61st Birthday and Makarand decided to make a documentary film on the life and music of these two brothers and legendary vocalists from Banaras Gharana. It was the most amazing to see that two individuals with best of their own musical knowledge, understanding and vision can sing Indian classical music together.... and the answer of this question is the film Adwait Sangeet. The film explores the great musical legacy of these two brothers, and also their 50 years of musical journey with many other aspects of their relationship, their family and general life that may look very easy but most difficult and filled with many challenges. Adwait Sangeet explores these and many other aspects of their lives. Adwait Sangeet got recognized first at IFFI Goa as an opening film of it's Indian Panorama section and then went on to get invited to many international film festivals in India, USA, Canada to various Asian countries including China. On the occasion of 71st Birthday of late Padmbhushan Pt Rajan Mishra, this film is now available to all music lovers on the youtube channel of Swarangan by Pt. Rajnish Mishra, son of Pt. Rajan Mishra. We are sure that music lovers from world over will enjoy watching this film.
