I haven't played this version in the arcade in about 22 years now...I remember how INTIMIDATING this game used to be as a young kid, not only because the computer was so challenging, but in particular because it was always such a popular machine, there was always a crowd surrounding it. I remember many times as a 6-7 year old playing games with 3 teenage strangers, I remember one in particular where I beat a guy about 10 years older than me and people including my parents were jumping up in down in disbelief that I won. I miss being able to play as Shaquille O'Neal, Reggile Lewis, Kevin McHale, Drazen Petrovic. Couldn't do it on a console....those were incredible days. These days I still know where to find an arcade cabinet of NBA on NBC Showtime and I always make sure to play a few games when I go, I played a few today, even though I have the Dreamcast version at home. That arcade game has some amazing rosters too, I like to play as B.J. Armstrong and Horace Grant on the Orlando Magic for nostalgia purposes

Magnifico!! Gioco stupendo!! Mi fa piacere sapere che qualcuno apprezzi le vecchie glorie!! Anch'io vorrei tanto che in un locale che frequento al mare ci fosse ancora un cabinato simile!! Grazie per l'intervento

I spent so much money on this game as a kid. I remember spending hours upon hours at this local convenience store. I was ranked #3 on this particular machine, and one day it was gone. One of the most sad and confusing times in my young life.

Did the game ever cheat you with a unbelievable comeback?.
I had like 23 win streak. Up by 10 o.j. the 4th and they couldn't miss and I couldn't make a layup or dunk

The Sega CD version was the best home console version overall though! The Super N.E.S. port both looked and sounded better than the Genesis one, but the Genesis game had better game play, with in game music, which sadly wasn't the case on the SNES.

This game doesn't have the best oneliner of all. When you attempt a dunk in the dying seconds and don't beat the buzzer, the announcer pauses and then say "Bad decision!"
