Lee's mic,"it's a bad mic," as he says at the start distorts a bit early. But my favourite gig. Plenty going on with a happy band playing just before Way Out was released.
I think this is EXACTLY how the LAs were always meant to be heard, beautiful, pure, RAW!!! This is better than listening to any record, although that's all I ever had. This is fucking incredible!!! THIS is the LAs!!!❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊❤❤❤
Fuckin John 1 year before this had never even played bass. Then that genius of adding the double chorus, staggered half beat creates the imagery of a jack in the box being knocked down. Thats incredible.
where are you uncovering these gems from? My heart cannot get enough of them. God bless the La's
La la la’s ✊. Ta very much for these brother, quality 🙏

Lee's voice sounds boss here la
Tone we need the forum back online, things are starting to happen!
I was wondering what happened to the forum, any idea why it was shut down?
11:12. Jumpin Jack Flash.
The solo/break in Timeless Melody was a surprise. Did that become a different song of its own? It sounds familiar - I think that is its own song, right?
Was just reading that Mavers recorded some stuff in a studio in London in 96, has anything ever leaked out from this and does anyone know if he was recording the same songs off the kitchen/crescent tapes?
I love that period, so fascinating. It was recorded, Edgar Summertyme described it as "raw, riddled with feedback, couldn't go out on a modern label". Nothing has come out from there, though it does exist. I don't think it was productive, Edgar also says the flavour of it was loops and bars, not necessarily full songs. Band was Lee, Neil, Joyce and Edgar. Rat Scabies owned the Kew studio, it eventually got waterlogged being on the banks of the Thames. He had a diary online at some point describing Lee kicking a football around in the street between recording with the lads...
Lee Garnett has a couple of snippets uploaded, “Why Do I Feel Like I Do” another mooted title from that time…
Two bass players eh thats a great idea!!Joycer and Jonesy dueling banjos!!@@ToneLa
who's the one third from the left?
Id say its Paul Hemmings the guitarist... one of the La's many talented players
