- Do you guys know that there’re fake BTS albums? I got several requests from international ARMYs to review the fake BTS Map Of The Soul 7 album. I hope this video help you when you try to buy an official BTS albums.

When I read the title and saw the thumbnail, I got scared and thought "What if my new Persona album is fake?? These frauds can make anything close to the original ones!! 😱😱" Then I saw the contents and started laughing my head off. They didn't even try to make it convincing 😂
Totally unrelated, but I finally bought my first album with my own salary a few weeks ago. Since MOTS Persona was my first comeback, I bought that one as it's close to my heart. I want to buy LY Answer and MOTS 7 right now but I can't find a better website that delivers to my address besides Amazon 😭

I’m seeing all these comments about how people think it’s ok to buy the pirated/fake one because the real one is too expensive. So essentially these people are saying “I support BTS, unless it’s too expensive then I’m going to give my money to people using BTS work and images without their consent.” BTS works hard to make this content and they deserve to get paid for it. Don’t contribute to people stealing from the boys.

I definitely relate to this one. I'm still a minor and in school so i can't work yet, but everyday i go to school with my own packed food since i don't want to spend my money on the school cafeteria and i walk home since my house is near so i can save up for official bts dvds and albums, even though it's pricy. Whenever someone tells me I'm way too obssessive and picky when it comes to buying official merch and they just tell me to buy the unofficial ones instead, but when i tell them my reasoning for buying the official merch (my reasoning is bcs i want to support bts) they get offended and call me an obssessive creep just bcs i invest some of my saved up money in official merch? Like tf?
Mi cchi off topic but thank you so much for providing an example to other minors/people out of work that they indeed CAN save up and buy official merch. I understand that its probably different for some people who are absolutely tight on money, but it just annoys me that people are always bothering army with merch telling them they’re so rich, etc. it really annoys me, because we work hard for our merch too.

You can suspect it’s fake when:
1) Chinese is written on most pages of the album/photo-book
2) get too many filler items such as extra stickers, photo-cards, other item that you certainly didn’t order, or items that don’t originally come with the album
3) there is no latest KOMCA sticker on the back cover of the album (though, recent BTS albums sold in North America might not include that)
4) the CD does not come inside or attached to the album
No. The KOMCA sticker is no longer holographic.
5) When it is too cheap and affordable 😂
Ive gotten a fake army box and one thing spotted on my disc was a completely different companys name imprinted into the back of the disc, and all the things you've said is completely true, I got most of the items you listed in the comment, I spent around $70 on a fake, *Remember to do research and see the sites reviews carefully* The site what i bought my fake from was *BTS mania*

I accidentally bought a fake army bomb bc I was new and I didn’t know that it was fake and that fake ones costs much cheaper... i feel really bad for it😅 sadly I can’t buy much albums since we don’t have much money... so I prefer army’s to save money instead of spending it on fake stuff... like I do.. I’m 14 so I don’t get money when I want some merch I prefer to save my money so I can buy original merch instead of spending the first 20€ on fake shiteu u know...? Purple u all💜💜

if u can't afford their albums or goods, u should just support them by your heart, or u can stream their songs on apple music or spotify. DO NOT buy those fake goods, they steal BTS's hard work and make money from that.

army please support them properly with buying albums from listed and licensed sellers and don't buy the fake version i can understand the struggle of not having enough money but not having an album doesn't make you a bad or fake army!💜

@@Carmellx virus can come from anywhere, from website to those things we put in our computer (flashdrive and CDs for example). And no, the virus isn't in the computer itself if you bought it from a shop that sells Official stuff from apple without damaging or touching them.

That‘s why I only buy from Weverse Shop (or also albums form shops in my city). Because with Weverse Shop you are 100% safe to get the original and no fake. Thought it‘s expensive with shipping.
it’s harder to find someone selling a fake album rather than an army bomb since albums are more common and easier to buy. also, i believe it’s easier to create a fake army bomb since it includes very few things.
Use cokodive they sell real merch :D but for me I look on Instagram and you can look on their stories to see if it's real or not and they post reviews

This is illegal. Here in My country it will be called a “gift bag” but there will be no cd that has the songs from the album. It will be small packs here of like there pictures from the album but without those cds and photocards

남미에서는 중국이 짝퉁으로 만든 한국 화장품 (이니스프리 노세범 파우더, 더페이스샵 알로에젤 등) 본품과 비슷한 라벨링과 패키지로 한국 제품인거마냥 속여서 온라인, 심지어 오프라인으로 팔아서 논란이 된 적이 있었어요. 그래서 그걸 판 회사가 고소당하고 더이상 팔지 못한적이 있었는데 그런게 한두번이 아니라서 걸려도 시간 지나면 다시 팔고 그러더라구요 돈이 되니까... 저 굿즈나 앨범도 걍 무시하고 계속 팔듯요 수요가 있으니 공급이 되는거겠죠ㅠㅠ
I can see from comments that these album packs are normal in some countries, and they’re called “gift bags”... but ultimately the reality is that it’s reproducing copyrighted material. I understand that in some countries that you may not be able to purchase official goods, or you may not be able to afford them. I’ve often seen similar “gift bags” advertised on social media before and wondered what was in them. This is personal but if they were priced the same, even though the “gift bag” has more things, after seeing the contents, I would not feel satisfied with it. If I like an artist, if I like an author, I want to purchase their album or their book. Because although the proportion that the artist or author gets paid from my purchase may be little, I still want to pay them for their work.
Just wanted to add that because it’s “normal” in some countries, people there probably know that it’s not the real product. For everywhere else that has copyright laws and consumer protection laws, and authorities that actually monitor and penalise people contravening such laws... such products are certainly not normal. For these people seeing these products online, it can be confusing if they are not well informed with how and where to buy genuine products. The packs shown here may not be “fake albums” in the sense that it’s not copying the entirety of the real album, but it is still contravening copyright laws in the reproduction, distribution, and sale of copyrighted material (music and images) without permission from the copyright holder. It’s still breaking the law.
You're right, in my place too they are known as ARMY BOX or GIFT FOR ARMY, so I think it's not illegal
@@bangxteez3759 it still is illegal. They don't have the copyright of the photos, meaning they're not the owners of the photos, it's BTS and Big Hit that are.
in my country the gift bag is much more cheaper from the album! We called it fankit or something since it's made from an ARMY itself and the fankit is not trying to copy the album at all it's like bundle items? I can't explain it well like in one kit there's this unofficial photocards, poster, lyrics card and etc. But I don't recommend buying it tho you should just save your money and buy the real album!
ps my friend bought this before, she used the picture for journalling or just put it up on her wall it's something you can ruin since it's not official but when you have the official thing you just want to take care of it heartly 🥺💕
Gourmet Tigers you don’t need to explain any further, I understand what it is. It may not be trying to reproduce the real album in its entirety, but that does not mean that laws have not been broken. And I don’t believe it’s an ARMY making it, and don’t believe it’s a small scale operation.

Big Hit invest a lot of efforts and creativity to design the album. They are always top quality. On the big Hit website generally the contents are written and shown . So you can confirm and assure yourself when you receive the album
Yeah, they put so much money and effort into the album's and they still are cheap or at least not as much as they were actually made for.
the persona one i got fell apart page by page i would look into it gently like i had with their other albums that i have i fixed it with wires but still stuff like this shouldn't happen i hope that bighit would make their more albums with wires so that it would be easier to look at the photos and something like that wouldn't happen I'm sure they take a lot of time designing the albums but they should also think about this

짝퉁 페르소나 앨범DVD 안의 파일이 의심된다면, 구글 바이러스토털 같은 곳에 업로드해 바이러스 검사를 진행해보는것도 괜찮은 방법입니다! 그리고 맥같은경우는 -좀 많이-폐쇄적이어서 일반적인 바이러스가 깔릴 일은 거의 없지만, 그래도 실제사례는 많으니 조심하는것도 나쁘지는 않을것 같습니다!
앨범 그대로 카피한게 젤 소름이었습니당...ㄷㄷ
From a fellow I-ARMY myself (been collecting Bangtan albums since 2015 ✌🏼), here are some tips (disclaimer : these are the methods I've used and they may be a bit biased, so follow with a grain of salt) :
- In general : If your gut feeling tells you something is fishy, the first thing you need to do is reverse image search the pictures used by the store you're buying from. If the first result is from a different original website, that means the picture was stolen. Some scammers are also not smart, and forget to crop or censor the original watermark, so be on the lookout for that as well.
- If you live in Southeast Asia (what's up fellow SEA armys) : sellers with high ratings (no lower than 4.5 stars!) and an extensive order history on e-commerce stores like Shopee or tokopedia are the most reliable. They also often have Instagram pages that you can also order through. They should have detailed methods of communication with their customer service visible on all of their pages. Some of these sellers also have their own website! But these days they usually always have an accompanying Instagram page AT LEAST and 70-80% of the time their own e-commerce page too. I feel like southeast asian fans are lucky in this regard that the Korean pop culture wave is so huge here (and has been huge for decades now) that there is a higher demand, hence it's easier to grab a hold of merchandise.
- If you live in other regions : First, if you can afford to, order from the weverse shop or amazon. This is your safest bet. I've also read reviews that the packages come quite fast. Now of course these days it'll take longer due to the virus situation, but apparently before all this their shipping was pretty fast and immaculate. Now. If you live far away from Korea and can't afford the shipping, look for trustworthy regional GO (Group Order) managers on social media. The most trusted social media for this would be Twitter in my opinion. Essentially what GO managers do is they make large orders to the official stores so the cost of shipping is thinned out. GO managers work in regions, so you will usually find people offering services as Europe GO managers, US GO managers, and in Asia/South America/Etc. they're usually per specific country. At the end of the day you will still have to pay for shipping from where the GO manager is based in to your house, but it will be significantly less than what you would've paid had you made a lone order on the weverse shop. You need to research each GO manager carefully! They usually retweet reviews of their services, people will post photos of their orders and comment on whether or not they did a good job. One obvious red flag : if you look up their username on twitter and the following keyword is something like 'scammer' or 'exposed' then maybe don't buy from them haha
E-commerce sellers are basically GO managers as well, but with much larger order quantities so the shipping costs are significantly lessened.
- For both of the options I mentioned above -> besides the added shipping cost, of course there will be a bit of a price markup to pay the e-commerce seller or GO manager for their services. This mark up should NOT be exorbitant. For example if the album is originally $15 (yes this is how much the albums cost in Korea), you should not be paying $40 (before shipping)! Recognize unfair pricing when you see it.
- If you have a local music store that sells Kpop albums, take a look! Of course don't do it now, stay at home haha but you can look on their website and see if they have them readily available. But keep in mind that 99% of the time these stores won't have posters or any other limited edition goodies (and I've heard some countries even put rules on which photo card can be distributed per album, like I know UK stores only allow ot7 photo cards [apparently the country has a rule about not allowing surprise content in commercial merchandise or something] so Bighit sends a special batch to them), and unfortunately they do mark up the price quite a bit (this annoys me too).
- If you cannot afford an authentic album now and you're swayed by the copycat : don't. This is not the same thing as buying a counterfeit tour hoodie or even a fake lightstick. Their music is their life, their love and their passion. They pour their heart and soul into this. If you can't afford to buy one or have a spotify/Apple Music subscription and you listen to it for free on youtube or Soundcloud, it's fine! I know what it's like to be young without a bank account, but with so much love and adoration for Bangtan. But it's different when you voluntarily give your money to someone who pirated the result of their blood, sweat, tears and love with the intent on gaining money for themselves. If you really want one, save that money up, buy an authentic album. And if you can't afford to buy a new one : buy secondhand! The magic isn't loss or any less. I've bought secondhand albums before and I've cherished them just the same. Some fellow army might be needing extra money and you will be helping them out, or someone who's not a fan anymore wants to give them a good home instead of throwing them away. They are still precious 💜

@@isabel4265 I've never heard of that website before, I looked up some reviews myself and it seems the company is very polarizing. Some people had amazing experiences while others had horrible ones. I personally wouldn't gamble on this, I'd rather find a website with 90% positive reviews instead of 50% bad and 50% good.
I've actually accidentally bought a fake army bomb before, this was version 1 before bluetooth technology so there was no app to help me tell whether or not it was real or fake. I didn't know this at the time but the lightstick is most definitely fake if the seller promotes is as already including batteries. Bighit does not supply the lightstick with batteries especially INSIDE the lightstick because it can damage the product when left inside for a long period of time. I assume you want to buy the latest version so v3 or the mots limited edition ver, one thing for sure is if you can't connect it to the app, it's fake. Look up reviews of people who've bought from the company on whether or not the lightstick they sell turned out to be connectable.
Idk about where you live but in the local e-commerce websites I frequent, most sellers will label their product as unofficial if they are fake. Also, you get what you pay for. If the lightstick is $20 while the original is $30 even before shipping then it's obviously fake (unless the seller is an individual selling it secondhand).

On Weverse Shop is around $30 but it only ships to South Korea or you have to have ARMY Membership to ship to the US. I just really want to make sure Cokodive is reliable because I can’t find another website to purchase from. Unless you have some suggestions? Thank you anyway!
