krnstrong Probably stems from how her family treat her. She went to a private school that is pretty prestigious in Hawaii and they have a pretty intense application process. It includes an interview process of one or two interviews with administration members, she got in, so she has to be good at it.

krnstrong She definitely is! Her humor is probably what won her the spot in the school and even what got her spot as Moana. She's got a very positive and cheerful energy, very much her aloha spirit! So glad she gets to share the aloha spirit with the world, we need it now more than ever.

The creators really put a lot of heart into this movie. It shows.
Auli'i obviously has hula training. She talks with her hands so much and has very graceful hand and arm movements common in most dancers (not just hula but ballet, and other styles that include arm movements).
Mandu mika A lot of people in Hawaii have lessons/class. Back when I lived there, I had a friend who had classes. I think they had them at my school.

I feel like all Disney movies needs to be appreciated for all the hard work and can't be compared to the other. Yet people still compare Frozen to other movies and in my opinion, it is honestly getting old. 😑

Moana is my new favorite Disney princess. I love the voice of Moana Aulli she's so pretty. and she's the same age as my sister 16 years old now I wish I can meet her someday I wish to vist Hawaii someday might go next year or in 2018

My favorite Disney film is and will always be The Lion King. I thought Big Hero 6 was my favorite of the new Disney film, but the magic I felt while watching Moana was indescribable. I love this movie so much that I'm thinking about seeing it for the third time
both fabulous films! each will stand on its own merits. Auli'i was just incredible in this (and she can sing!), the entire film stands as one of my top favorites ever.

DEFINITELY!!! I might be a little bias because I'm Maori and Maori and Hawaiian are very similar (and Taika Waititi wrote it and he's Maori) but I geniunely liked Moana more than Frozen.

A lot has to do with technical issues like when certain parts of the animation or storyline gets finished etc. Most of what you hear/see in movies is done in an order that makes financial/technical sense, and is completely different from the chronology of the film.
Also, actor schedules. Many voice actors are very, very busy. A lot of the ancillary characters of films like this are pros can do their part of the entire movie in a day. Hell some in just a few hours. Then they'll hop to another studio & work on something else. And a guy like the Rock has 10,000 projects going on right now. I used to work at a recording studio. It was harder to get people in the same room at once than you'd think, just based on their professional schedules alone.

Actually it has nothing to do with actor schedules. It has everything to do with the art that is voice acting. Voice acting is a musical sensibility, not a theatrical one so to speak.
Because of the musical sensibility, it's all about the actor and their vocal pitch and timbre. You want the actors in each scene to sound as different in pitch as possible and the issue is when actors get together to record they tend to match each others energy and therefore pitch as if it's a live show, when that's not what's wanted.
For Frozen, Idina and Kristen recording together, that was more or less ok because the relationship between the two was important, but as you'll notice they still say their lines more than once while recording. This is for editing later, for the best possibly scene and dialogue flow.
Voice actors for animated films pretty much never record together for this reason so therefore schedules to get people together are hardly worried about. Unless you're recording a song that requires a few people but that's it.
Jennifer, almost all American cartoons that don't use super-famous live-actors...record together. Anime dub VAs talk about this all the time - ADR (& yeah, features) - are separate, prelay can do group records. The thing is that the budget is not enough to bring in all these huge live-actors in at the same time.

Definitely no reason to worry about Moana and Frozen being compared because Moana blows Frozen out of the water! My daughter loves it, and I can't think of a female Disney character I would rather my daughter look up to!

Moana is amazing, but I don't think it "outdid" Frozen. The graphics are breathe-taking, the actors are phenomenal, and the songs are beautiful, but I don't think this is better than Frozen. Every Disney movie can't be compared with other Disney movie. Every movie Disney makes is a work of art within itself. There isn't a Disney movie that is better than another. Each movie is special, you can't compare them. I love every Disney movie because each one means something different to me. Any movie that makes you love it within the first few moments of watching it is a diamond in the rough. Every diamond is different, each one sparkles in its own way. Even if most people don't see it as nothing more than a lump of coal. Someone is going to love that lump of coal because to them it's their diamond in the rough. The ratings don't matter, it's what people see and get excited about. How much money they earned from the movie doesn't matter. It's the love and time they spent making that movie for people to enjoy.
