DC Shunt Motor Speed Control Methods

Speed control of DC Shunt Motor are classified into two types,
1. Armature voltage control method / Armature resistance control method
2. Field flux control method / Field resistance control method

Thanks for your query, these methods do serve the purpose of speed control during constant load conditions, however, IaRa drop reflects the load torque variation , and as a result the speed envelope alters accordingly.
