I really hope my world mythology class covers this! I've recently become very interested in Japanese myths.
Man this mythology really makes me appreciate the game okami it has like mixes of many Japanese myths it's great.
it took me a bit to realize who he was talking about when he said “susanoo” due to the pronunciation

i think "propaganda" is a bit overstated.
i admit that "mythology" are not scientific.
japanese imperial family has always treasured "Shinpi-Sei".
"Shinpi-Sei" is expressed in the words "mystery", "spirituality" and "awe" in English.
democracy is made by humans and is often at risk of collapse.
japan is particularly prone to disasters, and Japan is making efforts to strengthen its land.
although it does not appear on the surface in peacetime,
when it collapses, it is the monarch that people depend on.
other monarchies would be the same.
it is different to say that "Shinpi-Sei" is propaganda.
True almost all cultures mythology has "propaganda" in them, for Egyptians believed that the king was divine... But you do bring up a good point, it is a little strong of a word.

Kuebiko- a scarecrow god that knows everything. In the myth of Okuninushi (the Great Land Master), a Kami arrived in a boat. Nobody knew his name, so a toad suggested asking Kuebiko, the Crumbling Prince. He's a Kami of wisdom, agriculture, and scholarship, but as a caveat he can't walk because *scarecrow.* Not a cool Fiddlesticks scarecrow that can teleport and summon a flock of death birds that rip people's eyes out and stuff, just.. a regular scarecrow that happens to be omniscient.
Sojobo- Not technically a Kami, but he's still interesting. Sojobo is an ancient, powerful tengu(minor wind diety) that supposedly lives in Mt. Kurama. According to myth, he owns a seven-pointed fan that controls more wind than usual and bears the strength of 1,000 regular tengu. He's also a master of swordsmanship, tactics, and magic as he taught the legendary warrior Minamoto no Yoshitsune.

That is just a theory. There are not much about Tsukuyomi, not even about the Kami's gender.
GUYS kagutsuchi is another Kami and izanagi and izanami share a spot on the list so there's still 10 Kami on the list
