I haven't seen any others up close and personal. I get the feeling they're kinda rare. The sound is outrageous. Mine was my primary ride for a long time and for a lot of different genres. Not really appropriate for most, but neither am I.
The bell from hell 😂 Never thought of running over a cymbal 🤔 I put together a homemade clap stack last year, and I wonder if that would give it that last bit of oomph to make it perfect....or maybe I should just taco it like the others....
@@karlplaysdrums 😂 I've played ALOT of cymbals in my day ( probably still haven't dented what's out there ), but I'm not sure if one of them was an earth ride.... sounds like lifting it wouldn't be a concern, but whether a boom stand can hold it; I rarely use straight stands anymore.
i tried hammering my earth and put a couple of cracks in it. i had a few beers before so i got too keen and carried away. still gutted about that. what an idiot. my cymbal now has three big holes in it to correct it
I didn't believe it was possible to hurt one of these monsters! I used to drop mine flat on the stage from chest high... what a sound! I've thought about polishing mine, but I suspect anything we do will devalue it?
The patina on the earth ride looks almost exactly like another earth ride video from Hawthorne Drum Shop

Have you ever seen/ heard/ felt an earth ride in person? All I can say is, "lift with your legs!" Hah! 💪

@The Kodiak Wild mine's on a boom, but it's not extended very far. I just weighed mine- 8 pounds.
