JOY!!! Would love to see some more opening lecture theory stuff in the future if you feel so inclined, keep up the great work and thanks for uploading dude you're the best
"Words....I have none." LOL Another great video! Although I may not make these exact mistakes, I make similar ones---and often. The way you explain WHY they are wrong helps me a lot.
Hi just want to say thank you for this, I have found it so useful, i watch it through most times before going on KGS, IGS etc (I know I need to get a life :) ) and just really try and apply those simple principles to the opening (I'm only like 9k so it's perfect) the result is so far I'm winning loads more games and got me out of a rut...... All the best :)
A question I always had and haven´t find answers to is: What are like main things to look for when dealing with wild free openings of opponents who start playing in 6-8 or stuff like that? How does direction of play apply in those situations?
So that kind of stuff usually is a long winded way of them preparing to invade everywhere. so just play territorial and live in the center and you should be ok.
Hey Dwyrrin. I'm sure this has been asked hundreds of times but how come you stopped playing city builders like SC4? I used to watch all your videos. I really wish you played Cities Skylines because you had a great eye for detail. Especially the happy little mistakes you would incorporate. It actually got me playing SC4 when you played. Im trying to get my computer built to start recording videos of CS. Cheers!
problem is the cities skylines crowd now wants too much detail. They want you to sculpt every last street corner with each bush and blades of grass and... yeah that just doesnt seem like fun to me so i've left the game.
I want to build a actual functioning growable city that will also look good as a after thought. Not wall to wall scenery like planet coaster. To be fair you should check out Strictoasters last episode 26.5 on Arrowhead Junction. The game has really progressed and they picked a desert for the challenge of detail and I think it looks amazing for the sparceness but thats just me. Well if you do change your mind I'll be there to like.
Another video covering the opening, which is largely irrelevant for kyu players. There are SO many videos on youtube about the opening. I think we would benefit greatly from some videos covering other aspects of the game. Looking forward to next week on fighting.
Being a ddk player, I think it's helpful. There's been times when I played much stronger single digit kyu players and they've said while it's not like I've lost in the opening, I've just put myself behind so I'm just making the game harder for myself points wise.
8:20 That look on your face when white dares to play Tengen! Awesome lecture.

@@dwyrin thanks for the advise! and for answering directly, I didn't expect that hahaha you're such a great teacher and very fun to watch :)
34:35 for these sorts of moves as white, is it too dangerous to allow black to play the elephant eye? Does that really surround black?
Second game: "Yeah, T3 and T2 seem like the biggest moves at the moment." lol what the heck
at 5:30 , if white cuts black stone at E16 white will get laddered to death.

ANSIcode I have to agree. And the endgame...so few videos. I get to the endgame and my opponent slowly picks me apart like chicken from the bone. 🐥
Well, it's helpful to me.
