@G Man the fact that he is able to have such a positive and meaningful affect through his lyrics and voice while using a simple 4 chord progression shows his talent.
Die geilste Version die ich kenne!! Ich habe Richard mehrmals gesehen und ich muss wirklich sagen, der ist einfach nur der geilste Musikliebhaber den ich kenne!!
As much as I love The Verve, I prefer this version of the song. Simple and raw, a thing of beauty! The way you can tell if a song is great is strip it of all the processing down to it's barest elements. In this case an insanely talented singer song writer and a guitar, and it holds up.
I hope you can all forgive me. I was 10 years old when Bittersweet Symphony came out. Always loved it. But never felt compelled to look into The Verge or Richard Ashcroft. I considered them a one hit wonder (even though I knew they had other hits outside of North America, I figured if they were really as good as people say, they'd be bigger here). I was stupid then. I'm now going through the entire The Verve catalogue and Ashcroft's solo work is next. I am enlightened now.
@Freedom Of Nomad yeah that's completely true, but its still remarkable an artist of ashcrofts status doesnt even bother to make the upgrade from epiphone to gibson, considering he could buy gibson acoustics until the factory is worn out but you're right, shows his passion with just the music
Try sing along to an oasis track in Liams style, then try sing along to Ashcroft in his style. You’ll get your answer. One style of singing is a lot more detrimental to the throat. Both had amazing voices, love them both.
severely handicapped for sure...that said, this version is 🔥 - RA can belt out songs like few others! Not to mention the incredible lyrics he used to write!
Hello, does somebody has the tab of this song.....i find lot of them on internet but they just seem like what he's play....maybe there is some difference....can somebody help me out on playing this song?

Fuck me still gives me goose bumps after all these years
Me too!
How can you not get goosebumps listening to Richard Ashcroft?
still watching this after all these years, a true musician and song writer.
He does more with an acoustic guitar and a voice than most others do with thousands of dollars worth of production. True talent.

This is called true talent and an Unyielding power of his genius.

It's the way he sings 'happiness'.....what a song, what a singer
One of the best songs of the 90s

Urban Hymns was a blueprint to human emotion. The power of this man's voice and soul is without comparison. Simply the best.
A blueprint to human emotion?..speak for yourself mate...just feel my own soul don't need no one to exalt me..I go higher places than this..
@@jaspurr77 lol triggered spirituality. First time I've seen it. Hilarious.

I wondered what kind as soon as the video started. Thanks!
Fucking GENIUS!!!!!!
its unbelievable he use epiphone ej 200. sounds amazing
+Shakeer Zakaria was the best cheapest guitar from the line after Epiphone Texans and Frontiers, EJ-200 is next...
+Shakeer Zakaria She will be mine, ohh yes, she will be mine
Some Epiphones are great if you can take time to play a few and fight the right one
@Freedom Of Nomad yeah that's completely true, but its still remarkable an artist of ashcrofts status doesnt even bother to make the upgrade from epiphone to gibson, considering he could buy gibson acoustics until the factory is worn out

The Voice
amazing talent, ICON of today's, yesterday's and the Future's Rock
Genius!!
Can he bring a great degree of talent, performance added to that a sense of "vulnerability" as an individual and this is where I am.
In the presence of Greatness 9 years ago yesterday
❤❤❤❤❤
Homem de sorte
wish to meet him and watch him singing live
Very true
Effectiveness is the measure of truth....hot singer hot song
richard usually plays a gibson .....that there is a £300 guitar epiphone ej 200 sounds sweet
I'm a Lucky Man.
¡❤!
How has his voice not changed? I wish Liam Gallagher's was the same quality as it was when he was younger.
Actually, his voice has changed considerably, there are some high notes that can't hit anymore, and it's natural
Danher92 because Richard hasnt blown his nose and throat with coke and weed 👍

@FerryLuckyMan thanks for the upload. what makes you see 'Ferry' ?
Nothing without McCabe.
severely handicapped for sure...that said, this version is 🔥 - RA can belt out songs like few others! Not to mention the incredible lyrics he used to write!
Does anybody know what that second microphone is for? (more ambient sound?)
It was connected to a reverb pedal. He used it in other songs that he played that day, such as: Brave New World.
@@FerryLuckyMan cheers mate! i'll check it out
Hello, does somebody has the tab of this song.....i find lot of them on internet but they just seem like what he's play....maybe there is some difference....can somebody help me out on playing this song?
Have a look on ultimate guitar roughly it's a full G d ( with a lick) and a A covering the bottom strings, think there's 4 cords in it all together
What was this broadcast on?
The Verve is far better than Stones, Oasis, Blur..Richard and McCabe rules!
Richard is so cool, Ed Sheeran is a good singer and he plays guitar but he ain't cool. You have it or you don't
