***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 2 new videos every week! Wednesday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

Ha, we're more your parents age. My graduation class was 25, hers was 600. I met her when she was 17 and I was 20. We were going together when she graduated at 18. Later, while I was at my 1st duty station, I found out she'd had a crush on me since she was 14. She was visiting relatives in my little town when she saw me mowing our lawn. She told her mom, "There's my guy."
I'm sure glad one of us could see the future!
It's been better than I could ever imagine.

Not me lol! My 1st husband was so abusive, beat me up for planting a small garden. He was jealous of it. Every man Ive dated has told me women are meant to cook & clean & not have dreams about things like getting a college degree or career with any meaning, because women arent smart enuf to do anything meaning except provide sex which leads to kids. I gave up trying to find the love I was looking for, a man who wanted to be a Team, no, it was always ALL ABOUT THEM. I did not let them hold me back and I became a Grid Designer; my name is all over Blue Prints of Americas Electrical Distribution Grid that are kept on file with the State of Calif. now I own many properties, traveled the world - Ive had a great life but it meant not getting more involved with men than an occasional date otherwise they turn into Stockers! Ive had to get more Restraining Orders in ny lifetime than most would in 50 lifetimes. WTH is wrong with men??!! Anyway- I am very happy for you!!!

Thanks Kevin and Sarah ! I really enjoyed learning more about your life together... My husband, Dan and I have a lot in common with the two of you.. We are retired now and we have homesteaded all of our married lives (51 years) . Since we have been retired for about 7 years now....... (We are both in our late 60's, we were very young when we married.....) we gradually had to reduce our homestead... to just gardening now because of health issues.. the thing I miss most is my chickens... we still burn wood and can and freeze the food we grow... We enjoy watching your videos because we still enjoy the homesteading life and live vicariously through the two of you ! Our three daughters have given us 7 grandkids, and three great grandkids and three son in laws... and we have several pets . Now we feed the wildlife on our acreage ... and the wonderful birds !! In our meadow we have deer, foxes , rabbits, squirrels and more ... we both love to fish !! Take care and please continue sharing your life with us !!

I am fascinated by peoples journey in life and how they end up where they are and where they never expected to be. who would have thought early in life you would have lived in 4 different states and end up on a farm in Missouri. I see others commenting on the scenery. I do love the rolling hills behind you and at the same time a nice flat hay field. We have a lot of the same terrain here in the western part of Pennsylvania.

I lived in Gilbert, also, from 98-2012. I also taught in the GPS and the growth in that area was explosive. I taught at 3 different schools, as they built new buildings, and in spite of the growth, Gilbert was a great place to live and work. You made a good decision to move to MO. I have enjoyed your videos.

I really enjoyed this video even though I knew some of what you shared today from your early videos. You are both such a pleasure to watch and your property gets more beautiful with every project you complete. I've been wondering how Kevin's parents are doing and will we get to see them in upcoming episodes? My favorites are whenever you're in the kitchen, whether you're cooking, baking or preserving food.

They began “homesteading” in Phoenix while they worked. Small lot.
They realized they were living in the rat race. They looked for a state and area that had good water and cheap land.
They bought that small slightly older sort of run down home in the middle of nowhere Missouri.
Their lifestyle is not about chasing money they bought a cheap place and made it work. That’s the secret plain and simple. It’s my dream too

Also can you give a tore of your farms? we get bits and pieces but it is a little hard sometimes to picture it all together. Thank you for sharing, I will never homestead but enjoy what you do.

Doug and I have been married 45 years. We met at a play production at his church. My piano teachers invited me to her church on the way she told me her daughter had to quit a play to start a job and she asked me if I would consider playing her part. That’s how Doug and I met. We have 2 Daughters & 1 Son. We have owned our own business in 3 states; Colorado & California were well drilling, pump installation, plumbing and water treatment. Oklahoma we have a mobile home park with 14 rentals we own. Doug has designed & traveled to install water treatment and bottling systems in 3rd world countries and been construction superintendent in the states. I have always worked as office manager & HR manager, executive assistant to CEO’s. I’ve always had a garden and kids had 4H Rabbits, Sheep and Pigs. I started watching you because of your rabbit videos and still enjoy when you share about them. God bless You and yours.

Yes I enjoy hearing this sort of content once in a while. Thank you for sharing your life with your viewers. I am about to buy a Harvest Right Freeze Dryer thanks to selling my current homestead and I have already bought my next homestead home base. I have a lot of work ahead of me but looking forward to the adventure. I hope I'm moved to new home base in time to start getting in my fall garden. I look forward to more freeze drying videos too. I also am anxious to see how the sweet potatoes do in the greenhouse there at your place. I want to build a greenhouse on my new home base but all by myself it isn't easy. Do you know if the greenhouse company growers solution has an install option?
