    Putin the most 'legit' leader in the world should not be preaching to Ukraine about voting. Both Russia and Ukraine should hold internationally monitored 'free and fair' elections at the same time. Then we will see who will be doing the negotiating

      As I think you said. doubt Putin is interested, he still got almost 6 years in what he calls "free and fair" election. He is just interested in more territory like he annexed Cremea in 2014. He want the Soviet Union back, he isn't interested in people (unless they been schooled "to understand"), just territory. Maybe Ukraine should hold sort election, but is any country better off holding election during an aggressive invasion (or "special operation" if you prefer)? {rhetorical question}

      Ukraine can't have elections when 20% of the country is occupied or has active fighting on it. Pootin recently implemented computer voting systems so he has total control over the elections. He will never, ever allow outside election monitoring because that would signal Russians there is potential fraud with their voting.

    It’s far best for the world to let the Russian economy continue to collapse. In the coming weeks or months once the collapse is complete, the country can be divided into its various states at which point those will become nations. Each of those nations can have their own free will and Russia will be contained and will no longer be able to steal from their neighboring countries. Their military will be small and manageable, and will be a home defense force without the ability to project military power. That will benefit the world.

      Putin is very crafty. Very. Early on in his reign he removed his competitors. He replaced all regional governors with hus own loyalists.
      Russia is basically a federation of many ethnic republics but all under the control of the Eastern Slavic Kremlin.
      Putin has studied how the revolutions of 1917 and 1991 toppled the rulers. He acts like a Tsar but presents a persona of a demogogue like Uncle Stalin.
      To the Western view aStalin was a tyrant but to the Soviet people he was a very popular strongman.
      Thus Putin apoeases his public and controls them as well through his network of regional leaders.
      If there will ever be another people's revolution throughout Russia, it will be the suppressed ethnicities rising. But they are too impoverished to do so.
      However if a regional leader, such as in Siberia becones popular and challenges Putin then that could start a chain reaction.
      Tatarstan and Bashkortostan could side with other Muslim Republics. Vladivostok could have an agreement with Beijing.
      The pressure is building up... if Putin does not win his war this year the threat of internal revolution could erupt.

    We know Trump is a liar. And we know he is low intelligence (for a president). We just can't figure out which of the two he is more of at certain times. Thats why he still surprises. When predicting his behaviour, MUCH MORE emphasis must be put on who is advising him. Most smart-sounding speeches and rationale he gets from others. Not an insult ... this is just the well known truth.

    Any reporter or 'professional' that keeps quoting Trump's "finish it in one day" statement, immediately makes me think either they know very little about what they're talking about, or they have allowed their own political leanings to influence their understanding too far. He has since explained that he meant it when he said it, but since he said it missiles and others things have been allowed that have made it more difficult. Now, I am not siding with or against Trump myself (I didn't believe his "one day" even when he first said it). But all these items and interviewees that, still today, keep referencing that particular statement just makes me think their due diligence (and thus trustworthiness) is significantly lacking..

Nothing has changed except for the fact that the West took its eye off the ball and allowed this to happen. 1991 to 2012 was a missed opportunity.

    The last video also had a bad analysis. The Ukrainians need Offensive Operations capabilities. They are using legacy Soviet Unit Organization and related Soviet schemes of maneuver. Their Command Military mindset under GEN Zaluzhny in 2023 failed because of Soviet legacy mindset of a huge linear front instead of a focused multi-Axis of Advance Offensive US Advisors recommended.
    GEN Syrskyi has tried to change this mindset in the middle of a war by training up new Brigades with NATO Unit Organization and NATO equipment. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian Military Command is so thin, having competent oversight of the train up was lacking. I believe it would take a minimum of 12 months to train up a Brigade, and on that timeline, only if key Officers and NCOs were involved. This means the Ukrainian Military Command Staff person overseeing Brigade creation project had to be a NATO experience Senior Officer.
    If I was in his position, my 1ST job would be to identify Commanders of the new Brigades from among to most successful XOs and TOs in the 3RD, 22ND, 47TH, Brigades. I would then pull Battalion and Company Commanders from promotion lists across the military. I would then do the same for NCOs. The enlisted troops would be non-experienced BUT all competed Basic and AIT in the UK. This would take 4 months. France would equip the Brigade and conduct initial Company, Battalion, and then Brigade training. This might the 6 months with simulator training and then complementary field exercises. I would still want 6 months in Ukraine rotating every 2 months from the Hungarian border, to Belarus border, to the Dnipro Oblast border. During these 2 month rotations, NATO scheme of maneuver will be practiced after NATO battle planning is performed at Brigade and Battalion Levels, and 5 Paragraph OPORDs are written. This would ensure the Brigade from top to bottom were as prepared for combat as is practicable.

    Every day that passes is one day deeper in trouble for Russia. They already have no remaining money to pay retirees. Once the war ends and the Russian ruble has to stand on its own, that’s when you will see the real value of the rubble compared to the rest of the world’s currencies. The actual value will not allow the average Russian to afford bread.
