I have the Black Bear Edition and love it, I've made some alterations, added Magnaflow exhasust and K&N Air Filter, sounds great and get great gas mileage. This is my 3rd Wrangler and I wouldn't drive anything else, the first two were automatic, but this time I thought I'd go back to driving a standard and it's been a blast.
Mike, great vid! We just got a BBE in granite crystal. Just like this, but with the Alpine speakers and heated seats. I love it. Can't wait for the warm weather. But 1ft+ of snow was fun to drive in too! It's Jeep tough, but looks REALLY good too!
HI! Thank you so much for your in depth reviews on the 2016 wranglers! I'm looking to get one and am torn between this Black Bear edition or the Sahara... Could you enlighten me on the difference in suspension? When comparing the models I see the Black Bear edition does not have "Premium OR Heavy duty suspension with gas shocks" so what is standard for this model and should that be a concern for daily driving? I'd appreciate anyone's insight
Great video Mike! You're always doing great videos! I have thought about getting a Jeep but they are so much into Chrysler I don't like that so I won't get one. Very nice vehicle though. I have no idea why they cover the engines with plastic. I've often wondered that myself. Maybe they cover the engine in plastic to mark it as their territory like it says Jeep on it. That would be very wrong thouh because it is a Chrysler engine. Anyways keep it up man!
Wow, 37k sticker price for this - Is that pretty standard across the board? I know its difficult to get into a 4 door with this many options in the Northeast for under 40k. Had a 2-door sport 11' for years and traded it in..miss it.
+MikesCarInfo weren't those supposed to come with the Black Bear? They look nice but I'm planning on eventually picking up a Poison Spyder Hood Louver.
Will the vehicle still remote start if it's a manual? For example in my Jeep its stick and so every time I park I will leave it in first or in reverse in addition to the handbrake. If I leave it in gear I don't see how it would start because then it would stall. I just wanted to ask how it would work like that.
+Chris Peanuts mostly automatics have remote start. but if you want it in a manual you would have to override the clutch sensor and leave the car on neutral to start it.
I like the Wrangler Unlimited but I'm concerned about the reliability of the car. I drive at least 25K a year and I don't know if the Wrangler could hold up ha.
It will have no problem. Mine is trucking along just fine. I have two wranglers, 2013 and a 2015. The 2013 already has 89,000 miles with no issues at all.
+muscles662988 You see it all the time, you always hear and see the bad things a lot more than the good. It's like that with anything. Think about it, do people normally go online and say how happy they are with a product just because? No, people almost always go online and complain about something just to find a solution.
+Bailey O. Small sample size but that's good for him. I'll be getting a different vehicle but the Wrangler Unlimited will always be a favorite of mine.

The factory wiring harness for the hitch does NOT run front to back. It connects to the rest, driver side tail light. It is a simple instal and a waste of money at the dealer!!!
The 4-pin trailer harness just taps into the tail light harness- no splicing, just plugs. Honestly, adding the tow package from the factory is a ripoff- its like $350 but if you can turn a ratchet you can get the kit for like $75. The 7-pin harness (not available from the factory, special dealer install only) is a much more involved project. Oh and the plastic covers on engines are for noise reduction as well as aesthetics. Modern engines, especially ones with direct injection (which this is not) are rather noisy. On the other end, many moderns engines use a plastic intake manifold that is lighter and less trouble-prone than the old metal ones but they're damn ugly. You can easily pop off these covers but all you get is more plastic. And it is unfinished plastic because it isn't meant to be exposed.

I just think the interior isnt cool enouth for a car like this with a little bit of leather on the dashboard or with some aluminum it will be much nicer. Jeep could have make an interior like the one in the grand cherokee for this car
yann bertille do you seriously think that a vehicle with a purpose of offroading and roadtrips is supposed to have a luxury interior? This is not a Mercedes.
What's better the normal 2 door or unlimited? I'm usually alone but sometimes people ride with me and I go camping twice a year. How is the 4 doors for off roading?
the best review for a Jeep Wrangler I've seen. finally someone who knows what they're talking about.
The big plastic thing you're talking about is called an engine cover and it's main purpose is to help the engine look better and reduce Engine noise

I just bought a Jeep Wrangler black bear and so far I love it and especially the remote start, your video is very informative so thank you
Awesome Jeep! Those floor mats are really cool.
Great video as usual Mike!
+© Maxxtruck9906 Thanks bro!

great review man. bought exact same thing 3 months ago. it's fantastic. jeep wrangler owner since 1995.
I'm looking at getting one used and this video told me everything I wanted to know and more. Thanks man!
thanks im from australia and looking to buy one amazing review
they put engine covers on for good looks also they do this because on the under side of the cover there is sound deadening foam
The plastic is used for noise control
Really enjoy your reviews. Thanks for sharing.
Just picked this up used and loving it. Video was super helpful - thanks!
It was especially helpful being 8 years old. Downloaded the manual, but this was helpful. PayPal still active?
i'm seriously considering purchasing a unlimited sport s and this video is extremely helpful! thank you!
Thank you :)
Did the doors always stay open or is this a recent model year thing? I thought they always close on their own.
I like the black bear. Great video mike.

Isn't the manual transmission the default for this vehicle? I am not a fan of automatics. I hope the Black Bear Package comes in a manual?
+zeroflux Yes you can get a manual transmission.
+zeroflux
Ditto for me.
Mike knows how I feel about him featuring automatic jeeps. Yuck.
Nice review mike i would like to see a review of the new rubicon hard rock 2 door if you can and thanks alot :)
+Sager Mohammed That would be awesome! Thanks Sager
Great, in depth video.
+Bianca lo Thanks for watching :)
it's nice and planning to purchase one, but it seems hard to remove the hard top
Wow, 37k sticker price for this - Is that pretty standard across the board? I know its difficult to get into a 4 door with this many options in the Northeast for under 40k. Had a 2-door sport 11' for years and traded it in..miss it.
thanks mike
The engine covers are for style, sound insulatio,n and heat insulation.
Yup. pretty sure the technical name for it is a beauty cover
+RevTheoryWPG well, the sound is a pretty big dif tbh
Not as good as my 2016 Willys Wheeler Unlimited! Nice video as always Mike!
+TheBigA Thanks! Have you seen these?
www.mopar.com/jeep-custom-hood-decal/
+MikesCarInfo weren't those supposed to come with the Black Bear? They look nice but I'm planning on eventually picking up a Poison Spyder Hood Louver.
+TheBigA Yes the Black Bear was (I thought) supposed to have the map of Black bear Pass. Apparently some are shipped without the decal.
It's still a nice jeep though. With or Without the decal.
Will the vehicle still remote start if it's a manual? For example in my Jeep its stick and so every time I park I will leave it in first or in reverse in addition to the handbrake. If I leave it in gear I don't see how it would start because then it would stall. I just wanted to ask how it would work like that.
Yes it will. On some models however you can not have command start on an automatic. Only on standard for those select models
+Chris Peanuts mostly automatics have remote start. but if you want it in a manual you would have to override the clutch sensor and leave the car on neutral to start it.
Thank you for this video
+על גלגלים On Wheels Thank you for watching!
OK MAN THANK U
Awesome video as usual
Thanks :)
number 5 !!!!!!!
Why is the glove box always so small in these?
+Aaron Margera The design of the vehicle only allows for a compartment of that size.
excellent review sir.
plastic keeps them a little cleaner i guess. looks like you can pull that engine cover off by hand since i dont see any screws. try it.
WeAreExilesFromHeaven doesn't seem like it would keep the engine clean though I'm sure it gets under there.
Hey mike if you see a Toyota Mirai could you do a video on it
+TheGibshome Yes! I cant wait to see one..
The reason for the the plastic top over the engine is to reduce engine noise.
i want this car soooo baddd
hi, do you know something about wrangler 2017??
Is black bear different from big bear
Camera you use?
The JKs were so much better built than the JLs. Just look at all the rust problems plaguing the JL owners! I'm so glad I bought my 2016 Rubicon ! ! !
i wish they sold this model in Australia!!
Does it opens in the back also yes or no
+callme Boss Yes
HEY WHAT'S UP MAN ARE U GOIN TO DO HONDA PILOT ELITE SORRY I BEEN ASKING U JUST LIKE UR VIDEO'S
+ricky stewart Sorry Ricky... I just haven't had access to one yet.
I like the Wrangler Unlimited but I'm concerned about the reliability of the car. I drive at least 25K a year and I don't know if the Wrangler could hold up ha.

+Nathan Tegtmeyer Well, that's good to hear. Hopefully, I can find more stories like yours.
+muscles662988 You see it all the time, you always hear and see the bad things a lot more than the good. It's like that with anything. Think about it, do people normally go online and say how happy they are with a product just because? No, people almost always go online and complain about something just to find a solution.
+Nathan Tegtmeyer my dad's is a 2014 he put 26k on it from 2014 to 2015. no mechanical issues at all
+Bailey O. Small sample size but that's good for him. I'll be getting a different vehicle but the Wrangler Unlimited will always be a favorite of mine.
you think you could do some mitsubishis
+Casey Mccoy Yes! I plan to start real soon.
How much money for it ?
How much does this jeep go for I'm just curious
Because I'm in the market for one
Yes it also depends on location as well, mine was in the $35K...so Sheila Pardo go ahead and make that move, you'll love it.
Base price?
+Jose Gonzalez it's at the end of the video, he scans the car sheet.
27k base and 37k equipped
how are the speakers in this jeep?
they're pretty good not amazing bass but better than standard
+Rosie M how many speakers are in it?
my cousin just got this car and I noticed every time she turns it on it makes a pew sound, whhyy?
+Rosie M Because jeep sucks
What's "pew sound" ?!
does she eat taco bell before she gets in her jeep? lol
is it possible to play songs on my iphone in my jeep, but instead of changing songs on my phone, i could use the controls on the wheel?
Yes. If the Jeep is equipped with Bluetooth and steering wheel controls.
HUMMER

Thanks for the correction
+MikesCarInfo does it comes with first aid kit
+Khawaja Ghazanfar No
did I hear you say backseat drivers?!
+SoundgardenMan Oh yeah!
I heard that, but that didn't affect the review. Thanks Mike. ;)
Thanks :)

+Mike Dubiansky Thanks for the info!
The wrangler needs projector headlights.
They do now have the new LED headlights (and fog lights) available on the 2017s luckily.
to not get rusted
can you take the top off in the next video.
So many different versions and editions it's so confusing.
Need 6 speed
Nice Jeep, too bad its an automatic. I cringe every time I see a Jeep Wrangler in Automatic.
Man, no offense, but that "Black Bear" package is a ripoff. Almost 5k more for the twill soft top and some black accents.

+yann bertille whats the big deal with plastic? besides, its a jeep, its supposed to be rugged. Want luxury? go buy a mercedes
I just think the interior isnt cool enouth for a car like this with a little bit of leather on the dashboard or with some aluminum it will be much nicer. Jeep could have make an interior like the one in the grand cherokee for this car
