I can’t imagine there being much performance difference, but just like you I want to cherish transform it into a collectors item.
I have the 2xRover 75 with those engines aspirated at 150bhp & 177bhp. Can't say I've noticed much performance difference between them but I do prefer the throaty growl of the V6 engine & it heats up much quicker to temperature. Fuel economy is 35mpg to 32mpg so not a massive difference. I certainly recognise the Pssst of the gear changes on the 1.8T. I want to try driving the Diesel engine now.
I have the 2.5l V6 rover (tweaked ECU) with the V8 Roewe front bumper and quad exhausts. The V6 gives out a beautiful note with stock exhaust, i have an aftermarket Stainless steel exhaust on which makes the sound even more beautiful but booms a little at 2k revs. The stainless exhaust really allows the engine to breath much better
MG ZT's are great cars that managed to slip under the radar. Sad to see that you sold yours zedtee. Got a ZT 190 -03 myself that's only done 54.000 km. Runs like a clock.
Swedes are known for their love of American cars but this one likes British. When I visited I saw overwhelmingly Swedish & German marque cars on the road with a small number of classic American vehicles. I hope Saab makes a comeback, still lots left in the UK & Sweden but its sad to see brands like Rover & Saab die out. Of course MG still technically exists but the Chinese would do better to export the MG 7 than the current cars they produce.

Har ju sina brister här och var men inget överdrivet stort! Koppling, termostat och insugsenheten i plast är ganska vanliga fel. Kamremsbyte är svårt och dyrt på V6:an. Mycket BMW delar. De håller om man sköter dem, in och läs på de engelska forumen! Min har rullat 21.000 mil, körs varje dag, inga stora fel!

I know exactly what you're saying and I know the history of the MG brand. Even though these are not "real" MG's, they still are quite interesting for what they are. Dressed up rovers with a completely different character. They're fun!

Sir Shanks no & I’ve sold the 1.8T now but still driving the V6. Looking for a nice Tourer with high spec with either a V6 or Diesel engine.

the truth is that I feel an incredible sadness the disappearance of Rover and Saab and the current Mg do not look like the past.
