Waste not tip: keep some black card stock handy to put the extra mixed paste on that you don’t want to put back into the jar. Then you can die cut from it.
Here's a tip, Cathy. When you want to just spread the paste onto cardstock so you can die cut it, put a 'blob' down just like you did on the stencils, then use the big spreader! You get a much smoother outcome than with the smaller utensil. Thanks for the fun video!
Also, may need a more generous layer of paste for intensity of color if you know you're going to die cut from it.. Kind of do a combination scrape/float movement, with a light hand.
I do love pastes but do not use them as much as I could. They can add both texture and dimension. Waste paste can go into a spare jar meaning you will have a unique colour. Love your makes.
Yay you, Cathie!! What a fun card!! I love watching you, you're real, and it makes me feel less of a dork when i make my cards!! I have butterfingers, too!! Thank you for brightening my day❤ 😊
Beautiful cards. I just got my 6 solar paste jars in the mail a couple of days ago. I had some butterflies cut out and I tried spreading some of the solar paste with my finger and it really gave my butterflies a beautiful shine. I think I'm going to love my solar paste.
Love the cards! I need some quick graduation cards and this is a great idea. Thank you also for explaining why you do certain things, I never thought of the moisture from the paste warping the card stock. Adding the foam strips adds dimension but also prevents the warping. You're brilliant!
WOW! If that is your first try using this, YOU DONE GOOD! I really liked the cards you made and the products used. The Heart Card is so pretty. Thanks so much.
I would be curious to see the leftovers all blended on a separate piece of cardstock, ie: the first 3 colours swiped on black then the last 2 added in to them. Really mix it up.
I'm not one for pastes but I love these colors and the concept of it. Black may not be your usual, but I see you doing something at Halloween with the Triad. 😊
Really pretty. Strange to see you make black cards, you rarely do... :) I am waiting impatiently. My "local" (in my country but not my city) craft store don't have them in stock yet... Really want them sooner than as soon as possible... Love the Lunar Pastes, so I am convinced I will love the Solar pastes as well.
These are some beautiful cards!! The Solar Pastes are on sale this weekend through SSS for 25% off so I HAD to order them!! You are such an inspiration!
I love Ranger and Simon Hurley projects, I seal jars with Press and Seal, so far my Lunar pastes are still working wonderfully. I just got my new Solar Pastes, love the look of these two cards. Also love CZ word dies, they work with lots of card styles
I have the solar paste too but i havent used it yet! When you were describing the texture of the paste, it reminded me of my moms Ponds face cream when I was a child! It looked just like it, lol! Thank you for your videos! I love them! Simon Hurley recommended to watch you and I just love your personality! Hugs!
I can still remember the smell, lol! One day I got into it when I was around 4 or 5 and put it all over my face and several dolls faces! After scaring my mom 1/2 to death she had to place myself and dolls in the bath! She didn't seem as amused after seeing the mess I left on the hardwood floors, hahahaha! My dolls & I had the softest skin! Heheheeeheee!@@czdesign
I bought the entire set of solar past and I haven’t tried it, but I thought I was going to like it better. I have Lunar Paste all over everything. Solar paste didn’t look so messy. Well, that’s what I was telling myself 😆 Thank you for sharing! I am excited to try it.
Update: I played around with it yesterday when I only had 1 hr and needed something to do. OMG!! First off, it’s like butter!! I used with with a few different stencils I had. I love how on white cardstock it shimmers in the light. What I love the most, I didn’t wear it for the rest of my busy day. Cleans up soo very easy and it just gives your creation just that little extra pizzazz. I love how vibrant Lunar paste is, but I love how the solar paste has the hint of shimmering color. Perfect touch!!! Excited to explore more with it when I have time to lock myself into my craft room for more than an hour. I highly recommend Solar Paste!! Love it!!!
Hi. Have you tried the Luner Pastes? I was just wondering how they compare/differ or if they are compatible with each other. Your cards are outstanding, very fancy without being over the top. I'm with you, definitely a member of the 'waste not, want not' club but to the point where I'd have to use the mixed up stuff on something else or have some spare empty pots to scrape it into. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing skills and videos and i hope you're having a great weekend.😊
I have: ruclips.net/video/g0M4O6NidtM/видео.html I think it's in the pigment concentrations, that is the difference. Lunar Paste has a full concentration of pigment, but Solar Paste has a shifting color pigment. It's pretty cool stuff.
Cathy, I LOVE these cards! I was wondering 2 things... 1, was there a link for the rose gold cardstock that you used for the hugs card? I love that one sooo much and I would love to mass produce it. 2, Do you care if I mass produce it? 😘
These turned out amazing, Cathy! I’ve not tried Solar Paste but have ordered some Lunar Paste and can’t wait for it to arrive. I love the idea of making the shadow layer out of Solar Paste! You’re the bomb, Cathy!!
Got my pastes this week and hope to try them this weekend! The pastes work the best when you put them on dark card stock as it shows all the shimmer inside the paste. So I’m thinking it will be great with navy blue, royal purple, black, and probably a charcoal gray. I’d like to try it with a burgundy and also an emerald or forest green. Since I am a jewel-toned loving girl, these Solar Pastes are right up my alley! Can’t wait to experiment!❤
Lynn Le Bel I have not tried solar paste but you make me want to try it now!! Great cards Cathy! Thank you so much for the inspiration!! Have a fantastic day! Happy creating!!
Very fun to watch, Cathy! My solar paste set just arrived today so perfect timing on your video! Not feeling so timid now to get down and get messy! :)
Your cards came out fantastic! I have never used any kind of pastes but would like to try these. My one concern is how do you clean your stencils and tools? If you wash them, do you use soap? And, how does it affect the sink pipes. Will they get clogged?
I wash with hot water, but… I wipe off excess before hand. My pipes are so old in my 1918 home. hahaha. The water barely comes out in the bathroom sink as it is.
Hi Cathy, I love 💕 the look of this solar paste especially on the black but whenever I have ever used paste’s with my stencils I get stencil bleed so don’t want to do it, do you have any ideas on how I can stop this happening thank you 😊
Gads...more pastes on the market! Seems every company has one, which for me, makes it confusing. Just opened a jar of paste that I had to have.... a while back..never used....now hard as a rock. Ugh. These pastes really have little shelf life unfortunately. Results are nice with any of them...just a bit messy and fiddly. Add glitter, color, etc to any white paste ....it works!
Some do seem to last better than others though. I have heard if you put a piece of wax paper over the lid and tighten down, it can help with shelf life!
Love both of these, especially the pink one! I don’t have either, but I’m curious what the difference is between solar paste & lunar paste? 🤷♀️ Thanks for sharing! 😊❤️
Press N Seal is your friend here, I have some years old Tonic Glacier Pastes that are still great. Also some Gina K Glitz Glitter Gels, found one that had slipped behind some stuff and I'd forgotten about. Just found it and despite fearing the worst it was fine
@@czdesign I’m so sorry… I realized that after I sent. Benefits to this kind of tape? My mom ( in late 70’s) watches you and is a card maker. I’ve started watching because I love your style. TY
most of these paste products don't every dry but stay tacky...can you validate that yours are as dry as they appear? And if I say WOW one more time....oh my.
@@czdesign I was amazed when you cut that back piece for YAY YOU... it looked just like a hunk of metal cut from a sheet metal piece!!!!! This stuff has some serious potential in crafting!!!!! So glad I came across your tube....
Waste not tip: keep some black card stock handy to put the extra mixed paste on that you don’t want to put back into the jar. Then you can die cut from it.
Great idea!
I loved when Simon mixed the paste with another color of his inks and you had the solid color and when you turn it you see the other color.
Here's a tip, Cathy. When you want to just spread the paste onto cardstock so you can die cut it, put a 'blob' down just like you did on the stencils, then use the big spreader! You get a much smoother outcome than with the smaller utensil. Thanks for the fun video!
Did not even think of that! Will try!

Oh fun idea!
Simon’s going to love that you did the die cut backer. Too kewl!
YAY YOU CATHY that's really cool stuff so fun to play with as the outcome is incredible.
I just used the Solar paste last night by adding ink to a little bit and painting on my stamped image.
Nice product if you want to make an investment, lovely cards as always, but there are plenty of less expensive alternatives to these pastes.
I am looking forward to using Solar Paste. Simon Hurley rocks! Thanks for demonstrating Solar Paste and creating beautiful cards.
I love the “rad” and “cool” my girls always love when I say “cool” it’s my generation! 😂
Yesss,I've used paste before, love YOUR finished cards...perfect! Not too messy at all,you were ready(mat, towels, paper towels, scalpel suction...)
Thanks so much! 😊
Yay you, Cathie!! What a fun card!! I love watching you, you're real, and it makes me feel less of a dork when i make my cards!! I have butterfingers, too!! Thank you for brightening my day❤ 😊

I've used Lunar paste but not Solar paste. Solar paste is so dramatic on black cardstock. Thanks for experimenting, they are beautiful cards ⭐❤️!

Cathy these cards are absolutely beautiful….love colors, stencils and your words. Guess in’ these are next on my list …thanks🩷

I have been looking at the Solar Paste and wondering if it was something I would use. Your experiments have convinced me this is a must-have.
Bought the solor paste, tried it, loved it, will keep using it for sure. Great product. Cathy, great makes, you always make your cards so awesome.
That big swatch of purple is amazing. When you tilted it, it reminded me of the Iuile color shift watercolors.
Oh totally!
So simple yet stunning grad card! TY!💕

I think if you used a brayer you could get a nice smooth coat.
Love the cards. Haven't tried the Solar or Lunar Paste.
I love the cards, very pretty. I have never tried any paste.
I have only used lunar paste. I really like the results of the solar paste.
OMG - how gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. Audra

These are really cool. I haven't tried Solar Paste yet but it's very inviting. Thanks !
Love them. Have all this paste but haven't tried them yet.

Fantastic cards. I have not try solar paste yet. Buy can’t wait to try it.
Gorgeous cards on black Cathy. Love lunar and the new solar paste. Orderd mine ,and can't wait to get it!!!
Love the shine. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Gorgeous
Beautiful cards!
Thanks so much!
Lovely cards, Cathy! I haven't tried solar paste or lunar paste but they look like lovely products.
They are out of this world. Lol 😂
Those are very cool cards. I h@v3 not used any pastes. ❤
Very fun to watch, Cathy! My solar paste set just arrived today so perfect timing on your video! Not feeling so timid now to get down and get messy! :)
That is so pretty. Beautiful job. Hope mine comes out like yours. Thanks for a great video ❤
Thank you! 😊
I just got them and have only swatched them out so far. Your cards make me want to go play!
I like the effect of Simon's Solar Pastes better than his Lunar Pastes. Just my opinion.
Same here. I have the Lunar Pastes and like them a lot, but these are going to be my favorites
Great cards Cathy. Can you use on white cardstock too?
Yes you can!
I just ordered solar paste earlier this week and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Cant wait to see what you create!
Cute cards! ❤
Pretty cards, will you be experimenting with white cardstock and solar pastes too?
That will be my next experiment!
I just received these. I usually don't use pastes (even though I own a ton of them 😂). Thanks for the awesome ideas
Hope you enjoy!

I tried the solar paste. It’s pretty cool and a little messy. Hopefully if I practice more it will get better- I have hope 😂
You got this!
Hi Cathy, I love 💕 the look of this solar paste especially on the black but whenever I have ever used paste’s with my stencils I get stencil bleed so don’t want to do it, do you have any ideas on how I can stop this happening thank you 😊
One thing you could try is to use Pixie Spray. It holds your stencil fast to the paper, but doesn't rip the paper when you pull it up!
Cant find in Australian anywhere
It was just released last week, so I assume it might be a while yet?
What’s the difference between Lunar and Solar Paste??
Pigment concentration. Lunar is packed with pigment. Solar, not as much. And the pigments in the Solar are color shifting pigments.

I’ve had pastes dry up, but my Lunar Pastes have lasted a long time. I don’t do anything special to keep them from drying out.

What is the difference between the Lunar Paste to the Solar Paste....thanks
It's a difference in pigment concentration and color shifting pigment (Solar).

Keep that wallet intact! hahaha

Hi! What was that tool you used to get rid of some of your overflow of the paste? Was it better than a tombow sand eraser?
It's a creative detailer tool but the Tombow works just as well!
