You can save what beans you do not use in smaller airtight containers and they last great in the fridge.. I do it all the time cos never use a full tin of beans. You can even use a small cup or ramekin and 0ut the beans into portions in them and cover with clingfilm in the fridge........ It totally works 100% and saves money 👍
As an expat I've noticed food prices have gone up a lot in the UK recently. bake beans are very expensive. I bought 5 cans of Heinz baked beans (half cans) last week for 2 euros.
It may sound silly but I buy normal tins of beans use half and freeze the other half for a later date and they taste exactly the same when defrosted in microwave. Works out so much cheaper than buying the small tins!
I do a similar thing, but instead of the freezer I just put them in some tupperware (glass is preferable) and leave them in the fridge! They're good for at least two days- after that you'll have to use your own judgment 😆
I love Ocado! I preferred it when they stocked Waitrose products, but I still love them. Got an order coming tomorrow so might add those burgers. Thanks again for being so lovely and fab xxx
Interesting comparison so thanks. I live on my own and never eat whole big can of beans but little life hack for you the lids from the post metal tins of coffee like Costa, Milicano etc fit perfectly on any tins like beans, tomatoes etc. If I only use half a can of beans I pop one on store in the fridge for days. Never any issues at all. Would save you a fortune buying small tins of beans as they are never as good value compared to regular size tins
regular ocado shopper and they are the best, plus u can save up to 99 ocado bags and get 9.90p back,M and S beans are very good quality and u could just use half and save half in some container and put in the fridge.....great video
A good tip when shopping on Ocado is searching by the basic “Ocado” brand range OR the basic essential M&S range instead of buying anything they offer that’s got a name, I’ve found it brings the price right down and M&S also do the half pots of beans
Thank you. That’s so interesting. I recently compared Ocado to Tesco and was shocked at the difference. I had thought they were about the same but I was wrong. Shame because I love the way the app is designed and the product choice is good.
I find that when shopping in Ocado you should buy there meal deals as it works out so much cheaper, I usually do at least 3 of the various deals with a few essentials and it works out cheaper. 😊
Hey Sophie, great video I understand the price of fresh produce like your vegetables and salad are more than Aldi but for me it’s quality as well I just don’t personally find it tastes as good from there or as fresh as other supermarkets. I haven’t done ocado yet but might give it a go after watching this xxxx
I buy Sainsburys own half tins of baked beans for 21p a tin as only my husband likes and can’t eat a whole tin lol . Loving these price / compare videos . I recently compared Sainsbury and aldi and my weekly Sainsbury shop came out the same as aldi . I’ve then did it week after and Sainsbury came out cheaper . X
Thanks Sophie this was great to see how different the two shops were. Looking forward to seeing your Morrisons shop . I seem to shop in various shops and the market at the moment. Morrisons I feel has some really good prices and the quality is excellent on the fresh items too. Would little containers be good to save half a tin of baked beans in the fridge for you? Or a washed out jar maybe 🤔.
I really love Morrisons. I am going to do this for Morrisons soon! I have just remembered some little glass containters I have that will be PERFECT for containing the beans, thank you so much for prompting me! ♥️
Fruit and Veg is half price every Monday on Uber Eats. I’ve done it for the last 2 weeks and I’m quite impressed. My local store is Asda and they have had really good dates on them too. 😊
I love this video for the entertaining part. I do understand the idea that everyone has a different perspective for food, nutrition and as well different budgets. But this is equal to compare a Fiat and a Mercedes car based on the price. It performs very different 😅. Every time I used to buy anything fresh from Aldi it will get spoiled next day or max in 2 days. From M&S food stay fresh for a week. Not even mentioning the taste difference. You know what you pay for.
Im a lidl gal but use ocado if I’m away on holiday so we have a delivery when we get home or they sometimes send you money off vouchers. Most recently I got £15 off Ocado 🙌 loving your videos we have had your lemon linguine 2 times already and love the sweet pot burritos xx
I too love Branston beans or HP,. not Heinz, too sweet and watery for me. I get the small tons of Branston ones 3 in the pack in Poundland usually or sometimes Farmfoods.
Another grate video love comparisons just out of interest you said you where getting the cheapest of each item but when looking you said M&S beans where 50p a tin but bought Brans ten that where more then 50p a tin then compared to Aldis cheapest beans. I don't know if your interested but the other day some one in a Facebook group was telling every one how all shop own brands are exactly the same and telling someone not to buy the Sainsbury's sausage rolls as Aldi are identical and cheaper. I know from working in food industry that yes some factories make items for many shops but they dont always use same ingredients or quality. I went and found ingredients for basic value sausage rolls in 4 shops the Sainsburys ones had nearly double the pork Aldi ones do with the Tesco and Asda somewhere in between but all 4 had different quantities of meat and a cupel of other ingredients where different. something worth tacking in to account when comparing prices.
Interesting. Never shopped with ocado or waitrose as i always think of them as luxury or bougie. Tempted to do a basket and see how much it is compared to my morrisons or Iceland
You dont need to eat a whole tin in one go tho. You can either scoop whats left into a container and keep it in the fridge for a few days. Or you can put then in tbe freezer
You can freeze so much also if you have like a big pot of tomato sauce if you don't want to use it all. You can freeze portions of it, handy to use a silicone muffin tray. Once frozen yiu can pop the portions out and keep them in a zip lock bag or container. Then when you need tomato sauce you can just take as many portions as you need ❤
@@Sopherina They may end up a little mushier but for a toddler, they'll be fine. I would use bearclaw's idea of the silicone muffin try or cupcake holders .
😅 I watched the comparison as you showed us the products and I could see how much cheaper Aldi was and for me Aldi is my choice of supermarket all the way.
Enjoy todays video my loves!! ♥️

@@Mark-rd1it Don't buy branded products because you're buying into the corporation BS........ They're also mega loaded with sugar

With online shopping, Ocado especially, sorting by ‘low to high’ helps so much 😊
Why did I not think of this 🙈
Interesting comparison so thanks.

Please link that recipe for the sweet potato wraps! ❤
Sweet potato recipe and pancake recipe both in this vid! ♥️
I find that when shopping in Ocado you should buy there meal deals as it works out so much cheaper, I usually do at least 3 of the various deals with a few essentials and it works out cheaper. 😊
Sainsburys have the half tin sized baked beans and they are actually cheaper per 100g than the big tins!
I had no idea Sains did half tins!! This is amazing! Thank you! ♥️

Love your videos, would you consider doing a week of air fryer dinners? I recently bought one and would love to see your ideas!
Definitely, I am still learning my way around it but so far have found some absolute FAVE new recipes in the airfryer. 😍
Beans can be frozen in portion sized pots 😊

Would love to see that pancake receipe 😊
It'll be appearing on my website this week! But is also in this video ruclips.net/video/PG9P2m6xEnQ/видео.html
♥️♥️
it just shows how there is a difference in prices from other supermarkets M&S has some great food items but you always end up paying more. xxx
Fruit and Veg is half price every Monday on Uber Eats. I’ve done it for the last 2 weeks and I’m quite impressed. My local store is Asda and they have had really good dates on them too. 😊
Oh wow that is brilliant! I wonder if they do that near me, I will check that out thank you xxxxx
So I have been shopping with Ocado for 12 + years. The great thing about them is that tailor offers to what you order.
I love this video for the entertaining part. I do understand the idea that everyone has a different perspective for food, nutrition and as well different budgets. Morrisons have a good savers range too so will be interesting to see if you can try any of those items x

Fab video I get ocado every fortnight they do tempt you to buy more at checkout. Take care lovely cuddles for Orin 🥰🤗 xxx
Thank you ♥️ Hope you are well 🥰
Yes to the linda McCartney veg burgers are the best ive ever had.
We had them last night for dinner with homemade chips! 10/10! 😍😍😍
Both tesco + saisburys do their own half tins of beans, both regular and half sugar!
Had no idea about this, such a game changer, thank you so much!
Asda and Waitrose do half tins and I like them both.
I used Ocado for years but they weren't reliable in lockdown so I used tesco and not looked back. I go between tesco and Aldi now.

Branston beans come in a half tin too. I buy them as they’re the best beans but I cant eat a whole tin either xx

Need the superfood banana pancake recipe plz! :)
It's in this video!: ruclips.net/video/PG9P2m6xEnQ/видео.html But also I have it written up in my notes to add to the website this week! 🥰🥰
I think Sainsbury’s beats Aldi xx
I have always though Sains to be quite expensive, however I haven't shopped there much! Looking forward tot trying this challenge out with Sains xxx
Asda and Morrisons sell small tins of beans too!
I am so gutted to have missed these for soooo long!!! Thank you! Will be going to an Asda soon!
Flash sales on Ocado are brill… they come up after you’ve paid!
You can freeze the canned beans.
I had nooo idea beans could be frozen!!! This is a game changer for me thank you!

Hiiii..... definitely sticking to Aldi. Thank you for the vlog. ❤
We don't have Ocado where I live. Wish they did.
It does have some great things. Where do you live? I think they cover most of the UK? Xxx
Could you click and collect from your Aldi???
Beans keep opened in the fridge for up to 5 days so you don't need those little tins :)
Or get some cheap food savers from Tesco and pop the 1/2 can in the freezer - works for spagetti hoops as well🙂
Yes just take left over beans out the tin and put in a plastic tub. Otherwise I find they go mouldy if left in tin
😅 I watched the comparison as you showed us the products and I could see how much cheaper Aldi
was and for me Aldi is my choice of supermarket all the way.
