I was there in Valencia 82....never thought I would celebrate as much again. AND I was a fenian (catholic) following the north in 82...very risky for me, but what a game !!!!!!
I remember watching this film as a kid. Hoping it gets uploaded in full soon. Incredible angle from behind of Eder's free kick v Argentina which wasn't on the broadcast highlights. It would've been the greatest world cup goal of all time
He sure did. The segment where he walks after and stares down the ref showed he was fearless too. 'I'm mucho groucho about that tackle on wee McCreery, so I am, ref.' ;-)
Sean Connery lived many years in Marbella south of Spain. He loved spanish red wine from La Rioja, the Jamon Serrano and Jabugo Jam, the Manchego Cheese, and he believed that Scootish and Irish motherland was in celtiberian people of North and Central Spain.
@@shanemcnamara5224 Without wishing to state the obvious, Sean Connery (whom , of course, it most definitely is doing the narration for the 1982 World Cup official film) mentions suits in reference to the suits the Spanish team were advertising at the beginning of the clip. The narration is excellent, later he refers to the "chain-smoking Argentine coach, Menotti" during footage of the Brazil v Argentina match, with a follow-up of, "several packets later" to equate lapsed time with Menotti's habit.

Did you notice that on the electronic scoreboard Northern Ireland was represented in the tricolour of . . . the Republic of Ireland. 😆

At seventeen, Whiteside played like he was 25.
