    I love the little parting shot as you're leaving the launch. Nice addition. Folks don't realize how much work it is to add those little touches. Nicely done. Some beautiful fish on a beuatiful day!

      Haha thanks Tracy and so true. I'm glad you noticed it and appreciate it. My father in law asked me once how I got those shots and I explained to him how I set the camera in place, go back, pass by it and then go back and get the camera. He thought I had a cameraman getting those shot for me 🤣😂

      Thanks PH! Haha that Halloween colored worm has caught me a ton of fish and a ton of big ones. Bass and pike included. Maybe they think it looks like a perch or something. I don't know. But it works. And I'm really liking the Tokyo rig. Ill have to fish it more. It's like a combo of a jig, carolina rig and drop shot rig, all rolled into one.

    It's key to rest your worms sometimes. Can't overuse them or else they could lose its firmness.

    Sometimes a quantity bite is more dependable than a quality bite, but it's good to get some of both, haha.

    • @FitzYakin
      @FitzYakin  4 года назад

      Haha true that Russell but sometimes the scenery and tranquility of a location is more important to me that getting on a big bite. Plus I like to change up locations. There are spots that I can go to that will usually offer both a steady bite with good quality but I would get bored going there all the time 👍

    Great vid!! Where would you suggest some great sunfish action? I'm around the same area as you.

    • @FitzYakin
      @FitzYakin  4 года назад +1

      Fishing from shore or boat? Lots of water around with lots of boat access but shore access can be tricky to find sometimes. Montario Point road has a state launch and some decent shoreline access. Under the bridge on Rt. 3, that crosses Sandy Creek, has some good sunfish action and good access. Great shore access at the boat ramp at the NE corner of Fulton to the Oswego River and also at Lock Island Park in Phoenix for the Oswego River. Try looking at the NY DEC website for boat ramps and cartop launches and from there you may find more shore access. If you have Instagram, you can contact me there by DM and I might be able to give you some more locations. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍

      @@FitzYakin I fish from a kayak. I was at North Sandy Pond and South Cowell Pond this morning. I got a few dink largemouth but was looking for crappie and sunfish.

    • @FitzYakin
      @FitzYakin  4 года назад +1

      Ok cool. I was at South Cowell Pond yesterday, with my kid. First time fishing there for sunfish and the channel that takes you to the next pond is pretty deep. So we anchored there and got into some decent pumpkinseed but nothing super huge (using nightcrawlers). I'm usually fishing for pike and bass from the yak, but I've caught crappie at North Sandy Pond and Lakeview Pond (I've gotten into some decent bluegill at Lakeview) on bass lures. So I don't really know of any hot spots for crappie and sunfish. I just know they're in there. There are some real nice lakes east of Watertown, one being Moon Lake that I just recently fished. I was there for bass but there were big schools of bluegill, and big bluegill, every where I went. A few other lakes right in that area, that I've never fished, but they look promising. Salmon River Reservoir and Oneida Lake, I think, have decent crappie fishing. Just big lakes to try and find fish in a kayak.

    How do you like that Grumman Solo 129? I've been very seriously looking into one of those. Maybe you can do a "walk-through" video for your boat!

    • @FitzYakin
      @FitzYakin  4 года назад

      I love it. I usually fish out of a fishing kayak (I have 3) but the 129 Solo is my go-to when I don't feel like dealing with the weight of the kayaks. It's something I can throw up on my car quick and take out for a short fishing trip or launch it from a difficult launch more easily than my kayaks. It's also a boat I can leave on top of my car all day and not worry about the suns UV rays damaging it like they do a plastic kayak. I''ll do a walk-through video for you very soon. Thanks for watching 👍

    You find canoe fishing more stable the a kayak? Thinking about getting a canoe

    • @FitzYakin
      @FitzYakin  3 года назад

      My fishing kayaks are more stable then my 129 Solo canoe (I can easily stand and fish from my kayaks but it's a little wobbly doing the same from my 129). However, my Grumman 15 footer is just as stable as my fishing kayaks. I prefer my 129 over my kayaks when the launch is difficult (ie down a steep hill or over boulders) to get to the water. My 129 is almost half the weight of my kayaks so it's much easier to carry over obstacles. Hope this helps.
