Quite a few key clashes here as I get to the last of the good vinyl in my collection, but some songs I just had to play. Quite a few mistakes too as I get used to these digitally pitch controlled decks.

Audio Technica AT-LP120 Direct Drive Turntable x2
Ortofon Concorde mk1/mk2 + nightclub stylus
Allen & Heath Xone:23C mixer (with DVS internal mod)
Video recorded on iPhone 12.
Audio recorded with Audacity via mixer record output (as DVS mod removes USB recording ability).
Weird feeling when you have decks and shelves with trance vinyl, but you listen (and watch) someone out there approx your age spinning the same tracks you have. :)

Yeah I love that track too, you can probably gather I shoehorned it in a little. Another one of my all time favourite tracks for sure and the best remix in my opinion. Reminds me of Tranceformer 2000!

I find the headphones mixer real hard to distinguish tunes on that mixer. The volume faders are very sharp to. Pity as the sound is awesome
Yep, agreed on both of those. As you say you have to be very careful bringing tracks in.
I’ve never really used the headphones mixer when mixing. In the first few mixes I’ve uploaded here I did try it, but just couldn’t get on with it either so agree on that too. The main reason I was using it is that the acoustics in that kitchen are not ideal, everything is very echoey.
I’ve already recorded the mix I’ll be releasing at the end of the month (twice actually due to stupid copyright on Cafe Del Mar which needed cutting!). The best compromise that I’ve found is to hold the headphone a few inches away from my ear with just the cue track in, and concentrate on the highs compared with my monitors.
You’re right though, it does sound awesome. My first A&H mixer and I am not disappointed!

@@JonGTranceClassics I mix on a berhringer ddm 4000. It has 4 headphone mixing options. It’s the most fun mixer I’ve ever used. And at £249

Hey again! It’s great to hear what people like and don’t like so no worries there at all. In general, I agree with you. I do like vocal tracks but they’ve got to be decent as you say, and if there is an instrumental I’d usually play that one. Out of interest which one was it, the Thrillseekers one? I’d actually forgotten I had that vinyl and wasn’t too familiar with the track when I played it, love it now though. Think there is an instrumental version on the other side.

Absolutely criminal that you've got under 1000 subs, some of the best mixes i've come across on YT. Just out of interest does anyone know if some of these classic labels are still going today? Ones like Incentive, Manifesto, Positiva, etc?

I record the audio separately using the mixer record output into a PC with an app like Audacity. I delete the audio from the camera and then edit the good audio and video together.

@@JonGTranceClassics How complicated. I record my sets also with iPhone 12 and I use Steinberg UR22 MK2 soundcard connected to the mixer. And I also live stream with the same setup. I don’t have to edit anything. And I play vinyl only. Great set though! 👍

Thanks. I think a big part is adjusting to the digital pitch control on the modern turntables. Hopefully the third mix will be a bit tighter. Just waiting on one more vinyl to arrive but I think it will be worth the wait!
