Why PC Is NOT Going To Get HSW or GTA+ & Why We Can't Keep Chop Shop Cars. Let's Play GTA5 Online!

Now on to this video. I ended up going down a rabbit hole recently, and I decided to share the thought process with you. It's more fun to watch, but if you want the tl/dr version, it's this:
We can't keep the Chop Shop cars because that's going to be a GTA+ thing.
PC can't get GTA+ or Expanded and Enhanced, but why?
Expanded and Enhanced was a new release for PS5 and XBox1_
There's probably no "Update" version of Expanded and Enhanced
PC users would have to buy a new version of the game to get Expanded and Enhanced.
This would split the player base and kill PC GTA Online
So it's probably never happening.
I'm going to make this video "Not Made For Kids" since it's discussing the structure of the game and programming and marketing, as opposed to just simple gameplay. That seems like pretty adult stuff so it should at least elevate this to a general audience.

It is actually unbelievable that Rockstar is trying so hard at this point to milk every penny off of their customers, that they actually resemble the greedy, soulless companies they are parodying in their own games 😔

I really hope you're not right about your suspicions. That would piss me off. I also hope Rockstar tells us their plans with regards to the Salvage Yard Vehicle Robbery Vehicles sooner rather than later because all four of my bays are full of vehicles waiting to be purchased. You know what's sad is (if memory serves me correctly) the HSW files are actually sitting dormant on PC right now. Dataminers uncovered the files when digging for info/leaks about the cars that came out that that DLC. So it's not even a matter of how much work it would take for Rockstar to give PC HSW cars, they're already there. Rockstar has actively chosen to withhold them to give current consoles something exclusive over PC and last gen players. The why is obvious, it creates another marketing tool to encourage players to make the switch. You aren't able to bring your old gen accounts over to current gen, you have to start from scratch. Why would people want to abandon there account that is already rich, leveled, etc etc unless there was something to gain. Withholding HSW and making gta+ next gen exclusive is that something. It signals to players that our main focus is current gen, last gen and pc can have the scraps of whatever we toss them. If you want to stick with our main focus, switch to current gen console. Now not only do you get to sell new copies of gta5, so also get to sell all these brand new accounts sharkcards all over again cause they don't want to go through the whole grind again.
Not to mention that Xbox One *is* a PC, it's the same architecture and running a version of Windows, so as Knight said, it's very little effort to enable it on PC.
looking into the rpf files those cars are in they arent actually there but instead there is place holder files named those cars, and when you try to view the models and any body mods it just shows you a square thats of 2 polys and 4 vertices, i have a buddy trying to make an arbiter gt from scratch to bring to FiveM but truly i dont see why they cant just put the correct files into place to allow pc to have them which i think is bullshit its like this in the first place.
but if you try to spawn any hsw vehicle, the game crashes.
the PC is basically neglected by Rockstar, because they have a console fetish more than giving the PC the same new gen features
completely off track here. all the current gen stuff is in the code already, modders dig it up time and time again the same day it drops and make it all avbl in single player, so there's absolutely no reason but R* and their greed to keep treating PC like last gen, while it technically lies outside the generation table.
They're hoping for the same effect as with the re-release on ps4 and pc, that existing players switch the platform to get the new stuff (back then the better graphics and 1st person) and therefore buy the game again.
I got the answer! yesterday i asked rockstar games the same question about keeping the cars. they said you can only keep cars that are worth less then gta 80.000, so its just bs bevause every car is worth more then that

@@bassTheBlackKnight i don't get it either. Every mission car is gta 250.000 dollar and up. Maybe in the future they have cheaper cars. Or maybe the cars should be worth less money, later cranked it up in fear that nobody would play the mission for little money and forgot to adapt te keep it your option
I was able to keep an Itali gto which is a lot more than that

If they just made it a free upgrade to add it (like overwatch 2 did before it became FTP) for people who already own the game and from then on sell only the "new" version then there would be no problems. They would make so much money off the new stuff for pc players that it wouldn't matter, and adding gta+ would bring in so much more, so many people want it that cost shouldn't be a concern. Its dumb to think they're just cutting themselves out of the biggest gaming market on the planet for nothing

When ever RG releases a new uodate with new content, the goal is to get people to spend money on this content. But way to many PC players just use mod menues. So RG probably isn't that interested in bringing new content to PC.
But yeah, I'd pay 50ish bucks to get the PS5 version with HSW and RT, especially since rumours tell that GTA Vi will come in 2026 or even later.

If this is what gta 5 online is for pc then i only wonder how it'll be for gta 6 online for pc... might as well buy a console to play gta 6 and gta 6 online....yeah sure it will be with slightly lower graphics than the pc edition but atleast it'll have 100% of all the online content.. I'd rather have the full experience rather than pretty graphics....
It's not even coming out for PC on launch. If it goes the way of GTA5 then maybe we'll see it in 2026? They always give the consoles the exclusive first year at least.
Dude, and average gaming PC costs like 4-5 PS5s and we all paid for them. And your biggest question is would the same people pay 60 bucks for a new version of the game? idk, this logic is fishy to me

I think this all goes down to the fact, that its too expensive for them to have actual authoritative servers running for the benefit of all consoles/platforms, which would add a painful bill to their monthly costs;
It's a rabbit hole think about it:
- They are investing on consoles cause they are considered "safe environment" (no modders/hacking around their stuff)
- They can keep running cheap with non-authoritative servers
- Modding and hacking screws game economy which has direct impact on their revenue
To keep their structure lean/cheap they NEED to put incentives pushing players towards those "safe environments" (so called next-gen, which I hate to hear, cause my PC is a quiet powerful one)
As software developer, I understand that one-time expenses are perfectly fine to have (new features/upgrades...)
But adding a large monthly bill for the benefit of all players on all platforms, is just too painful for their revenue. Not gonna happen.
Please don't give them ideas they may not be thinking about, respectfully

I'll never understand gamers that say they are only PC players. PC is one of many platforms. I play games on whatever platform they are best on.
I don't have any dislike of other platforms. PC is the one I'm invested in and the one one which I spend my time. It's just personal preference.
That's exactly why I call #GtaPlus the biggest Scam for Console players and the reason I don't own a console myself... PC Gaming is better even with Rockstar Games and Take 2 blocking 🚫 up content behind that Paid Wall Subscription. I just uploaded a video with regards to other things that you can do at the ChopShop as well...
