iirc here's the story: The problem with the Daisy robot (the robot that recycles the iPhone's different parts to be re-used) is that the amount of iPhones it can recycle in a year is the equivalent to the amount of iPhone's that Apple sells in 48 hours! So Apple decides to send those excess to a company (for reasons you stated - to prevent these iPhone's from being reused) that was going to destroy it all. Some of those employees at the iPhone destruction center (recycling center, but they are going to be destroyed) stole some of those iPhone's that would be destroyed and sold it to the Chinese gray market (since iPhone's fetch a lot of money in China) and Apple mysteriously noticed that some of the iPhone's it sent to be destroyed were getting re-activated over there. Apple was going to go after the company, but in order to look "green" they decided to not go after them since the lawsuit discovery phase would show how many iPhone's they destroyed 😂😂 Anyways, I'm pretty sure Apple will choose a different destroyer if this problem gets out of hand, and some of those employees will continue stealing lol.

My new watch came with the recycled band and very bad skin irritation. Probably from whatever industrial chemicals found their way into the waste stream that became that $45 band.
That’s always the primary issue of recycled plastic, only a few actually can be fully recycled. It is also why many places do not recycle plastic except 3rd world countries, because of how dangerous it is.
Takes a of chemicals to break down plastics into something reusable. I'd be quite surprised to see if recycling is more than 10% better green wise than new products
Fun fact: channel "Exploring the Simulation" made a video explaining the Apple's green idea of making less waste in environment thus making AirPods case unrepairable. Since the batterie of the case works only 2 years, you need to throw that case and buy a new one. Talking about "Green".
Solutions: 1. Apple should consider including at least one adapter in the box. 2. Make Airpods repairable with replaceable parts 3. Lower the cracked glass repair costs 4. Make their cases cheaper and devices more durable.
6. don't solder the ssd and ram on so that when customers realise that 8gb ram and 256gb ssd isn't enough they can upgrade instead of buying an entire new computer
@@Eren_Yeager_is_the_GOATLol if the SSD fails it renders the device useless unless you pay Apple to fix it which probably costs more than DIY. The problem is not that Apple lies all the time about their money-making moves like removing charger and headphones to be greener (actually to sell those to their fanbase at additional cost), the big problem is that other manufacturers copy all of those lies because they find them extremely convenient and profitable.
I refuse to buy a new trackpad for the sole reason that I can’t change the batteries myself. My first Gen trackpad still works great and when the batteries go low I replace them and it’s as good as new again
