Even funnier, I just rewound a dbl tap back because didn't hear what happened because I was laughing, and it landed me right smack on it again! The start of it even! 😂

My scariest? My oldest granddaughter born 3 1/2 months early. 3 lbs. 7 Oz. Steroid shots before birth to help her lungs adjust to actually breathing. Slightly transparent skin. Being fed just a few ml of breast milk at a time. A little over a month in NICU. She just turned 18, graduating high school, star soccer player, top 2% grades in the state. Academic and sports scholarships will cover most of her college tuition next year. Things are awesome but that 1st month was the most scared I've ever been. Close 2nd were 1) a thyroid malfunction that screwed up my heart so badly (A-FIB) that the cardiologist told my family, on the 1st 2 nights in hospital, that they should make final arrangements and 2) blood clots following a hip replacement caused 3 heart attacks, 6 weeks after surgery (despite blood thinners as a precaution). The 3rd heart attack, a massive coronary during the emergency stent procedure, actually DID kill me for ~3 minutes.

I couldn’t imagine being a parent and having your kid born 3 and a half months early. I don’t even wanna think about how I’d handle it (if only cause I know it would be heartbreaking to actually have happen)

@Allantitan It was scary alright. She's fantastic now tho. Plays soccer, tennis, great grades. She going to college next year for criminal justice major and gonna double up for her RN license. My daughter and SIL tried forever to get pregnant. She has a condition that made it hard to go full term. Had to get injections for the others.

fair enough that they use text-to-speech, but they should seriously double check the video before they publish it so they avoid this stuff. that it happened on the first entry is just proof that they need to up their game. how do they even manage to cause such a hickup in a damned text-to-speech anyways?

I've lived a number of scary moments. A lot of them specifically were in dreams, where I'm consistently a character in a plot and not at all in control. When your imagination is powerful, your dreams can become surreal if you just accept and react to what's going on - without realizing it's in your head. Until I got over my fear of animatronics (which started before FNaF and was exacerbated by it). Needless to say, in line with the many surreal dreams I've had, I've also had many surreal nightmares. Definitely woke up sweating a few times, waking up in times when I was about to die. Usually when I feel powerless in these dreams, it comes in the form of being unable to push against the ground well enough to move, like it's slippery, so my attempts to flee are futile. Worse still, I can never physically push these threats away or hit hard enough when I try to fight back. There's only one time I distinctly remember realizing that I was in a dream. My solution? Diving face-first into the floor. And like that, I woke up. I haven't had such nightmares in some time.
Messed up as my brain is, that only affects me for a third of a day's time. I've had a few times where I've been genuinely, mortally terrified and others where I've skirted death. One such example of the latter was when my mother, who was driving me at the time, singlehandedly prevented a multi-car collision by swerving right then left into the next lane over. I had zero control in that situation. Another example involves a time where a girl withdrew consent after the fact, putting an end to a two-year long relationship with the police. Pretty much no one is going to want to talk to someone accused of assault or manipulation, especially not the variety I was flipped on to be accused as, and as it happens, being accused of SA is pretty much one of the only things I genuinely fear. Talking about it isn't nice, probably shouldn't be mentioning it on RUclips but I'm already picking up these rocks to show what's under them, so I don't care. I can compose myself when I need to, like I did in that police interview. Before and after though? I'd have fleed or alt-f4'd myself if I was found guilty. As of today, I've heard nothing from the police and should go with evidence to clear my name. Should, but won't.
Going back to the video today through; I'm not a father yet, and I see a lot of people in these sub-posts talking about incidents involving family - specifically children or spouses. Not a lot scares or bothers me, but I already know that anything to do with the above would make me freak out and panic on the inside. For such grave, life-changing circumstances? It's only human to react so.

On October 15th, 2023, It was a Friday afternoon like any other, until something truly frightening happened to me. I was on my walk from school and I was in front of the neighborhood’s ACE center which used to be a High School. This is where things started to go wrong. I promptly started playing the song “Wicked” by Future. Then next thing you know, out of nowhere, I slipped into a state of lightness, dizziness, I lost control of where my body was steering, and had trouble breathing. I tried to run home but at the same time, I was worried that I might not make it home in time. I was umm… cursing like a sailor during the ordeal and I was like “this isn’t the end of me! This isn’t the end of me!”. I’m literally just fighting for my life at this point. I running across the street and trying to steer the left to get up on a sidewalk, but I just kept getting pulled forward by my own uncontrollable motion. I fell into a ditch and caught myself with a fence. I stood still for a moment and what I felt was like the whole earth was tilted sideways. Then at the moment said “what the f*ck is happening to me?!” and continued cursing until I felt normal again. Then as I continued my walk home, I had thoughts that I wasn’t gonna wake up the next day. Thankful I did. But I for one wouldn’t wanna go through something like that ever again.

    I almost Jimi Hendrixed myself...
Alcohol poisoning... was at a house party and drank half of what I drank the time previous, and then left for home some time later because I was inebriated. Outside of a gas station on the way I collapsed and started seizing. Had 3 minor seizures one after the other and fell unconscious after the second seizure and choked on my vomit. The gas station employee saw me and came outside to keep my head from repetitvely hitting the concrete while i was seizing and he turned on my side when i puked while unconcious. He stayed with me while calling 911 on his cellphone and then the ambulance came. I woke up in the hospital with a big bloody bruise on my tongue and the worst headache of my life, hooked to IVs. If the gas station employee didn't see me, I'm 100% sure I would have died that night from choking on my vomit or from a seizure or both.

A driver that must’ve been going through a medical emergency was at the wheel on a two lane road and hit our family’s car head on. There was no shoulder and it kept swerving so we knew an impact was likely coming. That dread was terror incarnate! We always wore seatbelts, so we were good on that. Then mom shouted at us to go limp. “I know it’s scary honey, but just go limp.” Our car was totaled but we only received some bruising and that was because mom remembered that drunk drivers usually come through nearly unscathed from accidents because their bodies are in a relaxed state at the time of impact.

Most recently, when my ex threatened to call the cops on me and say I was stalking and harassing her as a way of breaking up with me when she saw I didn't pine for her, and actually saw other girls when she told me that line.
Now she plays the victim whenever she sees me.
Luckily, everyone in our circle knows that's bullshit and that she's known to go off the deep end when she doesn't get her way (not the first time they've seen her act like this).
