I cannot over emphasize how important 'Victory Conditions Overhaul' is from Wolfy. This single mod is one of the most important for your continued enjoyment of the game without getting bored if you value variety and shorter campaign objectives. For example, I completed one VCO campaign short victory with Morathi in 71 turns and another with N'kari in ~120 turns. Those are about the lower and upper extremes with the average being designed around ~100 turns. That's just enough turns to get a rank 5 starting region building for some tier 5 units to add to your armies for the final battles. Most factions have custom campaign objectives, but not all of them yet. I'm looking forward to seeing what VCO adds for the remaining factions in the near future.
This is a great mod list i'd only just add one mod which is ULTIMATE LIGHTING 2.0 it makes the battlemaps looks very good with the new lightning system
Amazing list! have most of them active on all campaigns as it just makes my experience so much more fun. One mod I always recommend that probably won't get talked about is Calm's Greasus Reskin. If you're like me and you cant stand to see him on his little go kart, you can now have Greasus act like a Golden Khan. Infinitely more badass, at least until the next dlc where HOPEFULLY they update Greasus' original model.

@@loowick4074 I have to know are you playing with mods that effect like the empire only/insert any nation. Even when you aren't playing as them or near them? And unit mods that add like repeat people. I understand visual overhaul mods tend to be like 1-12 mods depending how many nations it effects. There are tons of flag mods, color mods, and more names for Random regen name list. But why all of them? Like you Your load times must be 5-30secs longer than mine. on average i have a 10s or less load time in and out of battles.
nice mods, I just still waiting for a mod which allow us to build a tower on land battle and a tent with healing effect so we can make a small camp on land battles and take our wounded soldiers there

Yet it kills me that I put a unit of spearman with some archers on the wall behind and the archers face towards the city and will not shoot out over the spearman 😡. Next is fighting behind the Black Ark walls. According to lore, it's a fortress, so why am I deployed outside its walls. I understand if it would need to be nerfed for balance. I played dark elves since a kid 25 years ago, and always dreamed of a black ark siege battle. Then warhammer II game out and crushed my hopes sooo quickly 😢. Even if it took away artillery bombardments I would take it or made them harder to have. Just let me deploy behind the walls that are already there!!
Thanks for the sub! Yeah for the first scenario you listed im not sure how to fix. You can press J when a unit is selected and that will normally make the unit turn and face the other way, but on the wall it doesnt work. Your best option is to just select a target for the archers to fire on and they shouldnt have too much trouble doing that. As for the 2nd scenario, agreed! Would love to properly defend a Black Ark. Havnt found anything for it yet. I made a Dark Elf video covering mods for them not too long ago as well.

Before I buy this game is there like a skirmish mode where you can just fight AI with whatever units you want like in warhammer battlemarch on xbox360 or command & conquer or Lotr battle for middle earth for example
Honestly Ive come to hate the legendary characters mod, it feels very bloaty and it's just annoying the power boosts it gives to factions from turn 1 like skarbrand who gets 3 legendary heroes
does it make the empire strong every time i play archaon festus beats the living s*** out the empire and the empire guys never team up to stop him its so lore immersion breaking :(
No the maps are good. They are very detailed like everything else in this game. The siege mechanics are the problem. They need to rebuild it from the ground up to make siege battles fun

Before designing a siege map designer must live in the city in his or her mind. Think about how a battle would unfold... but they are making the games for lesser minds.

Yes it has warnings in the mod description because it changing the whole map. You can download the mod manager and change the settings so it changes them across more turns
AI mods will always depend on your mod setup and personal preferences. I tried all of them and none come even close to some of those made by 'Incata' for my personal taste, increasing difficulty of the game and how the AI performs.
Too bad you cant play them because devs break them every week :^) I very much want to play with basic mods such as Better Camera, but I now refuse until the development cycle is over.
I usually have no trouble with updates from the smaller mods like better camera. The bigger mods that can break campaigns after a patch like IEE and Mixer are usually fixed on day one anyways.

You put them manually in your data folder or do you use integrated mod manager? There is also prop joes, but I don't use that, so wouldn't know. Maybe you also left your Steam option of not updating the game etc.

It's the single-best mod in my stack. Having lore-aligned objectives is so much more fun than "Sack, Raze, or Occupy 75 settlement for Long Victory."
It took me 35 turns for Morathi with the mod

Vanilla siege maps are honestly in a sorry state right now
