- A lot of info about all the weight distribution and sway control systems. Some are very expensive. I will review the trunnion, round bar and chain based systems. I have between about 15,000 and 25,00 miles with Curt Chain system and the Fastway E2 trunnion and round bar systems. I will also gloss over the Hensley ProPride, Blue Ox, and Andersen systems. No such thing as a bad system, just my observations and preference.
I use the exact same system (other than the brand, my hitch is a Husky) with my 2012 Tundra and 32 foot travel trailer and I've been happy with it.
I use the E-Z lift which is very similar to yours. I don't have the extra sway control bar at all. I find that if I get enough lift on my weight distribution bars to put my front fender back to unloaded starting point, then it handles great. I do have 1200# bars and let me tell you I have to lift my tongue up quite a bit to get them connected to the link I want, but once connected it tows like a dream. I end up with a little sag on my F150 rear fender (between 1-2 inches) but my front fenders are back to starting point, and adjusted like that it tows extremely well. I rarely go over 65mph, because that is me. But I have tested it out at much higher speeds and it is rock solid....get your steer axle put to where it belongs and towing is suddenly really easy.... as always, safe travels.....
I wonder how much difference there really is in the 10K vs 12K ?
I use the eazlift round bar system but I replaced the chain snap up with the Lippert Straptek ratchet system. 3 years going great. Much quieter on the road and during early campground departures.
Love to see that as purchase option
By chance have you thought about the bushings in your trd rear sway bar ? Was wondering where to get replacements . They wear with time
I have taken it off to look at them twice in the 5.5 years I have owned it and bushings seem to be holding up fine. I would imagine Toyota has a part number
talking about safety hensley hitch is the way to go
I disagree, my load changes frequently. Hensley hitch is not an easy adjustment. I recommend you check out Andy Thomson’s articles and videos, best I’ve seen from someone with real experience and authority
@@kedrevs4037surprisingly Andy recommends the Hensley hitch for small SUVs in his article on the 80% rule. He doesn’t say why.
Have you checked out the weight safe? It has one nut you adjust based on load of the trailer. I don’t own one, but they do look interesting. They also look easy to install and setup.
I have looked at them, but know that I would still take all my setups through the CAT scales. I also don't think it will work with my WDH and sway control.
Is that a 12,000 pound system or 10,000? Thank you.
14k system
What kind of Break controller do you use?
MY brake controller is stock
How many miles on your truck now? Any issues?
131k, sort of yes, sort of no. Need to do some update videos
