mweh, i got ghosts, didn't kill anyone, low chaos
@Shakoor Khairzada nah, when an alarm goes you get high chaos
@@vexxy9879 ok you're right
@The Four Horsemen Not from my experience.
I love this game because everything that he did in the trailer can be done in the actual game
Hyung Ju What trailers are meant to do!
Hyung Ju Except Blink THROUGH a window.
cromusic ibra and landing on a pitched roof (in game pitched roofs have invisible barriers so you will just fall down).
+Hyung Ju You can't parkour roll after jumping off heights though.
+Hyung Ju Except u know USING ONE OF YOUR WEEK-ASS POWERs TO TAKE DOWN TWO TALLBOYS HEAD-ON.
I've never seen a cinematic trailer that actually represented the gameplay this well
It just shows how confident Arkane was that they made something incredible
Doom, also by Bethesda
Ac unity.
Yeah it's great. Vermintide too.
The outsiders voice actor is so cool
+holypigfrill Never doubt it.
+holypigfrill this thread tho lmao
+Ohmahlawd stupid gaddamn- morlan mrmmrmm rats plagguuuu elixi, bunch of crap (That is what i hear every guard say).
Saadh Zahid I hear it as "stupid captain. no good sonuva... mrmmrrmm." The other phrase is "this is ridiculous. stupid rats. plague. elixir. Pfft. bunch of crap."
cromusic ibra yep. Never daud it.
"Let's see if we can do better."
The way The Outsider said that was so cool.
+Dean Tran "And to make things interesting..." that voiceactor! (hes called billy...something^^)
+Simon Oberhammer Billy Lush.
+Dean Tran everything is about the outsider..even the assasin who kill empress! corvo could have stop some stupit thug from killing empress
U may see devil may cry 4
Sounds like some dissapointed teacher
"Killing me wont solve anything!"
*Slit*
Revenge solves everything
Yeah i love how he dose not mess around
REVENGE SOLVES EVERYTHING
Yes.
Killing me, will not stop Nova.
Only if you go for high chaos.
I was framed of killing the empress . So I killed everyone to clear my name . Opps
which is the bad ending. the good ending is achieved by actually low chaosing :)
I beat the game without killing anyone, no easy feat but worth it
I killed some but not all
I went high chaos. Reason is these soldiers know their government is corrupt and still work for them. Thus, you will get treated just like your government.
Lol, there was no mention of clearing Corvo's name in Dishonored. He just wanted to kill everyone that wronged him and rescue Emily Kaldwin.
Corvo in Italian means "raven, crow". I love that when he passes a certain point of the rooftop and the guard looks up, couple of crows fly from where he stepped on. So neat!
Such a nice detail!
corvo in portuguese also means raven
Amazing detail
the words he mumbles when using a void power have also meaning in different languages!
@@ciixo8510 the dead language
Remember when people were all like, "meh" when this trailer was announced? Simply because it wasn't a "Modern Military Shooter"?
Seriously, people never give new franchises and games a chance because it wasn't trending.
and this game became a game of the year back in its release day :)
FuNnn RevVviewSss After the reviews that is. No one cared for it other than the people who actually knew who the developer was.
Hemang Chauhan did Arkane studios had other IP games?
FuNnn RevVviewSss Arkane has been around for 17 years. They are made up of guys involved the Thief series and System Shock series, so they know how to make immersive first-person games.
Their first game was Arx Fatalis (2002) a first person RPG set entirely inside an underground dungeon, and a spiritual successor to Ultima Underworld series. Their second game Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (2006), a first person action game that combined hack-and-slash combat, stealth, and magic.
These games contain a lot of ideas that would get carried over to a techno-cyberpunk game involving medieval castles, but that game got canceled.
Soon, Zenimax (owners of Bethesda) acquired them, and took their ideas from the canceled game and made Dishonored, incorporating ideas from that, their previous games, and from the Thief series.
Hemang Chauhan thats cool I didn't knew all those infos about them :) do you believe Dishonored 2 is worth the 47,90 Euro price tag? From 59,99? I saw some video footage of the game play and I LOVE it, im also half close to end the first Dishonored game also thanks for all the info I really appreciate the time you put to tell them to a fan of Dishonored like me :) I will support the Developers and buy the first game and the second
Assassin's Creed's parkour+Bioshock-y powers+Thief stealth=Dishonored. 10/10
Potato Battery, Thief stealth is shit compared to Dishonoured, in Dishonoured you can teleport around, choke people, the climbing is excellent, but in Thief everything is barely climbable, pretty much everything gives away where you are, and the hiding is either being above your enemies, below, or in the darkness, and in Dishonoured you can peep through key-holes and open doors, but in Thief you cant do that, every time you open a door(not in a cut scene)a loading screen just randomly blasts into the screen, if your a huge Thief fanboy(or fangirl)you probably still love Thief, but it's a huge let down, i hope you know and agree.
Siamion Muzychenka I should clarify: I meant the classic Thief games, not the total disappointment that the new one turned out to be.
Potato Battery
Yeah, the older ones were very good, he newer one should've been much better.
+half life 2 design
Assassins creed parkour my ass I like dishonored but thats a lie bro.
Nine years later, and this trailer is still so damn amazing.
a hell of a lot better than the one they did for 2

Putting "spoiler alert" followed by the spoiler like this is like putting "danger" inside the high voltage case
haha good one
DreadNawght hahah!:D
But revenge solves everything......
Schiffy not everything
I love how he doesn't waste time with monologue he just goes in silent does his business and leaves.
Such is the way of an assassin I guess
@Death Wish Diaries even so, he barely speaks in the whole game
@Death Wish Diaries that's what i meant, he rarely starts the conversations, he is only answering all the time or saying that he's going to sleep lmao
As a long time gamer, this is one of the best game I've ever played.

Yes, I believe so.
Bought this game in a sale without knowing much about it ended up becoming one of my favourite games ever and replayed countless times.
I bought it a looong time ago because the character looked cool lol (corvo) and I play it to this day.
same bro got the discount on steam and bought the whole bundle. Only heard bits about the game and ended up loving it
Take notes other game trailers, the trailer didn't mislead us, almost everything corvo did in the trailer can the player do in the game.
That's Blur Studios for you. Probably the best people for making trailers that clearly reflect the games. They also did the trailer for the cancelled Prey 2 and everything seen in that could be done in the game.
And killing doesn't solve anything, they got that right too
Honestly pretty easy stuff to do in the game
@@ectofrost Blur Studios does what the publisher hires them to do. In the case of a multitude of other games (Halo, Elder Scrolls Online, Assassin's Creed, etc) the trailers don't reflect the actual gameplay because the publishers didn't want then to reflect the actual gameplay.
@@davidj3841 actually killing solves everything 😉
I love that Dishonored 2's graphics are basically this now.
AlleElizabeth yep(.) 😊(.)
AlleElizabeth not even close...
Nope, Dishonored 2's graphics are nothing like this
A lil Animation isn't as great but the graphics are better
This kind of graphics can only be pulled of by the battlefield game engine.
this is what dishonored would look like if it became a movie
Bravo Games which it should, but the problem is the fact the movie would make a certain kind of gameplay considered as canon, making fans dislike it because of that.
combinecommando001 that would be a problem, but if the movie industry did decide to make dishonored a movie like they are assassins creed then i would go see it just for the sake of seeing it.
Bravo Games hmmm, fair enough
+combinecommando001
*Spoilers to anyone reading this chain, and for some reason, hasn't finished playing the first game. XD *
Though if Dishonored was to become a movie, I think the safest way to go, would be with how a lot of players reacted to the morality thing, as it was shown through Emily.
When one player realized that his/her choices were effected Emily, and not in a good way, they changed up their game play with her in mind.
And I think many players went through that moment where they realized that their choices were effecting Emily.
Therefore, the best way to handle this would be to start with Corvo being angry and resentful to what happened, and throughout the first part of the movie, he is overly violent, killing whoever and whatever stands in his way of clearing his name and/or just Emily. And the thing is, that's perfectly reasonable to a character like Corvo.
The Empress, the one he was supposed to protect with his life, died in front of him, and he couldn't even lift a finger to stop it. Emily was captured, and then, he was blamed for that.
Not only that, but he spent six months in prison, constantly tortured in hopes that he'd confessed--then the true culprits admitted their guilt in front of his face--mocking him.
But he gets out, and I think, after six months of mental, emotional, and physical torment, anyone would be mad. So for character depth, the movie could start with him killing the guards and possibly weepers that he comes across, and for the first several missions--even after rescuing Emily, he is ruthless.
But then he comes back one day to see her pictures...and he realizes that he, like it or not, has become her role model. His choices would define her throughout the rest of her life.
And so he starts to change--not a quick 180, but through the rest of the game, he goes forth sparing as many guards as he comes across, only killing if he gets spotted, but still kills his targets.
However, he continues to change his ways, and when he finally comes across Lord Regant--no, Corvo doesn't spare him completely, but he doesn't kill him either.
I don't think he fully spares a victim until he comes across Daud, the man who took away the Empress's life, and kidnapped Emily. It would show the full turn of Corvo's character as he rolled into the climax, but as he struggles through, the question would be: Would he spare the Loyalists upon finding them, or would he kill them for planning to take Emily, and use her?
(I would like a happy ending though, so it'd be a no-kill with Havelock--or a death Corvo couldn't prevent.)
Of course, this won't please everyone either. People will argue that Corvo should have a good heart all the way through. *Insert heart jokes here*
Some will say the second half might get boring if he isn't as violent. *Though I think that can be fixed with having non-lethal fights.*
This one however, brings both things to the table. Corvo starts with a high-chaos play, and ends with the low-chaos. It would show character progression, and it would show the two main ways people played the game. *And even the middle path when he's coming around*
This isn't a perfect choice, but I think it'd be one of the better ways to handle a game with choice being a big part of it.
Of course, that's just my take on it, and just an opinion. If they're going to make a movie, they better take it seriously. I do not need to see another horrible movie adaption of a game.
***** I think I had the same vision about it, start with high-chaos, then start walking a path to redemption, there will always be blood on his hands but at least he's at peace knowing that his choices will ensure a greater future for the Empire.
As for the loyalist, if it's the low chaos in the end, I'd say after seeing the others dead from poison, he go up to Havelock and speak to him, though from there it wouldn't be like the game. He grabs the key and Havelock tries to stop him but Corvo doesn't take his blade out and just stares at him. Havelock now realize that in the end even if Corvo has a lot of blood in his hands, he still can see more clearly and he drops his blade and bids him to free Emily, he'll face whatever comes like he should have when the Lord Regent was dealt with. Better late than never.
3:06 guard was ready for coronavorus
Not so ready for Corvo.
He was preparing for the wrong plague

TheFireborn 364 me
TheFireborn 364 Yup
I'm willing to bet they took a bit of inspiration from The Count of Monte Cristo when they made this. Corvo Attano and Edmond Dantes are very similar in a lot of ways.
Both were once honorable in their society, and both were betrayed by the men they called friends and tossed into prison.
and now both of them want to have revenge on the men that ruined them.
This had to be one of my favorite games ever. I love AC and Bioshock so much, so playing the combination... AMAZING
I'm in love ❤️
Good stuff...loved the hell outta this game.
If you liked this, you should play the original Thief games. They were what Dishonored took the biggest influence from, not AC or Bioshock.
knox140 True, besides the thief games are masterpieces.
You're amazing, Savannah! Happy gaming, beautiful.
2019 and still my favorite game without a question

And here we are in 2021, still waiting for a Dishonored movie…
Is there any chances of Dishonored 3?
@@-Corvo_Attano Why would you want to start a movie adaptation with the third game?
I went for the "don't kill anyone" and "never get detected" achievements on hardcore. Failed miserably

Zain Shahzad Add "Only blink" now you´ve got a challenge
JOnhatan mizmarra wished they specified to not upgrade blink.... Tried for all 3 of those achievements at once but only got 2 since I upgraded my blink..
Zain Shahzad Im currently doing it and im in the second mission
Zain Shahzad Go back to the search bar for RUclips, type in "Dishonored clean hands" and watch the videos made by a guy called "The Red Dragon." He made a walkthrough that consists of a series of videos that will help you get Clean Hands, Mostly Flesh and Steel (use no supernatural powers besides Blink), Ghost and Shadow. You'll get those at the end, along with Resolution and Just Dark Enough. As a bonus, you'll also pick up a BOATLOAD of other achievements on the way (about 15 iirc). PS, don't upgrade Blink.

It's amazing how trailer graphics 9 years ago similar to most game graphics now
They should really make a dishonored 3
YES!!!! PLASE!!!!!!
This game has aged remarkably well.
Cant believe this is 10 years old now
This game is so underappreciated
Fun fact, Corvo is Crow in Portuguese, that's why the crow in the rooftop
Played it again today in 2022 on 60 fps. It’s more fun now that I’m older and have more reflexes and skill. Love it
So according to this trailer, Corvo's canon way of "playing the game" was high chaos.
nah they just didn't think it would be cool if corvo was sneaking around and waiting in a bin for a few hours so a guard could pass check the corroded man book it tells you how he dealt with all the targets in cannon
Big Smoke Yeah :D
and also in dishonored 2 it said that corvo killed a lot of people so yea
@ ok man but I put this here 2 damn years ago
@@FatrickAteman Emily says in Dishonored 2 that Corvo "cut their conspiracy to pieces" and the intro cutscene to that game shows him killing people.

Still the best game for me! Played this on 2012, never got a chance to play the part 2. NOW ITS TIME!
And it's glorious, too! One of the best level designs ever.
Funny thing, I've played both games but it's the first time I've seen this trailer, it just randomly came up on my YT Suggested Videos.
I simply hate it when people compare this to Assassin's Creed.
Why
The only comparable thing is that you play as an assassin. Plenty of games where you do that.
Damn right bro! Assassin's creed is a poor excuse for stealth .
Yeah man, this is bethesda not ubisoft
Its nowhere close, ac is bad stealth but you can climb whereas this game is better stealth, combat and story whereas you can climb properly.
Corvo Attano is the best assassin I've ever seen with unique abilities
Marvel Kidd1222 Daud's a way better assassin. Going by his track record. Plus his powers are way cooler.
This is still one of the best games there is.....It will always be...
Anyone else came here after watching the Dishonored 2 trailer? Looking back, both trailers have a lot of similarities: Starting with the Outsider giving exposition, city guards killing civilians and rats running amok, climbing and jumping between rooftops, zooming in on the target, stopping time against guards/robots, and ending with the target pleading for his life. Kind of a throwback to the original.
Looking back, it is pretty insane that this is a completely CG pre-rendered trailer...that is also a very accurate representation of the story, tone, and gameplay of the finished product. Clearly they had the game more or less in a completed but buggy state when they made this trailer, it's not just conceptual.
You're actually 100% correct.
This trailer is almost definitely based off of a cut level for Dishonored that was used as an overall showcase for the game. The story was near-enough completed at this point, the gameplay almost perfected. They had ambient dialogue, side-missions, scripted events, and pretty much everything done for the level. This level was eventually cut, but it was so well-refined and polished that they just tweaked it a little bit and included it in the Knife of Dunwall DLC.

I will forever love this game. Watching this I realized that the day game graphics look like cinematic trailers is fast approaching, and I can't wait to see it 🙌🏾
8 years later still one of the best game trailers. Cinematic, atmospheric and great action (almost all of which could be re-created in-game)
They need to remaster this game
Nah. They were aiming for a specific art style and they nailed it. Art director was the same guy who did Half Life 2. It was never meant to look hyperrealistic. When a game has a distinct style, it is timeless compared to something from the same era that was aiming for realism but looked bland stylistically.
"Killing me wont solve anything!"
Corvo: "Revenge solves everything!"
7 years later and this still amazes me
Oh I love this trailer so much! I look over and over at it getting more hyped for the new one to come out
It's the 6 Jan of 2020 and I'm still coming back to it.
