Thank you for reviewing this product. I recently saw the commercial and wondered if it worked. After watching your video, I fill confident in making the purchase of the Monster Zapper. Thanks again!
This is definitely one of the better as seen on TV products that help get rid if those pesky flying insects. Just remember ambient light can still be more attractive to bugs. This works best in a dark area.
I had West Nile encephalitis in 2013 that left me with 2 strokes and brain damage so needless to say I DO NOT LIKE MOSQUITOES !! So much so I fear the outdoors around dusk and after. Plus I am from Michigan so there are often skeeters in the late afternoon. I was considering the Monster Trapper just because I think that type has been tried and true. However for myself, if I hear the zap I become extra nervous. Your review was very informative and now I am seriously considering the Zapper for outside and the Trapper for in.:) BTW... I have recovered considerably in the past 6 years!! Thank you for the review. LKT
Hey Jeff! I'm new to your channel just found it because I was checking out the Monster SOLAR zapper I saw in TV just now. I know you've done the power zapper and the power trapper but I was particularly interested in the Monster SOLAR power zapper. The price point looks good and it appears that it's meant to be used outside which is what I want. We have lots of rain and lots of mosquitos here in Florida so I'm interested if this can really be used outside in the wet weather. Can you do this one? Thanks.
Hey Jeff I just subscribed a few weeks back and I am glad I did. My Wife calls me Mr Gadget Man cause I'm always buy the As Seen On TV stuff. We've had our Monster Bug Zapper for a year or so now and we Love ours. We live in West Texas and in the Spring and Fall we like to leave the doors open to air out the apartment. For some reason the Flys are bad in the desert and the Zapper does what it was made to do. I'm always recommending others to get one. My Family lives in SE Texas and when they have been having a lot of Rain the Mosquitoes get Horrendous. The Monster Bug Zapper works Overtime during the Wet Season.
Glad you did too. I love the monster zapper too, much better than the monster trapper that they put out. Thanks for sharing your experience with the zapper! Have a great day and stay safe.
We use a product called a "GLOstik." It has a sticky column with a LED light powered by 3 AA batteries which makes it very portable. Once the sticky column gets "bugged" it can be replaced with another sticky column. That's probably one of the drawbacks since you have to reorder the sticky columns. Maybe the other drawback is accidentally touching the sticky column. That can be fun. Also, of course, the batteries have to be replaced when the LED light deminishes. It does last quite a long time, though. If I were to choose between the "Zapper" and the "Trapper", I think I would choose the "Zapper". I don't like the idea of opening up the "Trapper" without knowing if bugs are still flying around. Thank you for your reviews. Barry Cosgrove
Thanks for the video. Would you say that the tray does a good job of preventing injured flies from escaping? I'm using another brand of zapper with a similar design, and it does a good job of injuring/killing bugs, but the live ones are often able to crawl out of the tray. They can also crawl under it and eventually die there, which makes it a hassle and very gross to clean and clean around. I'm looking for another one that does a better job of preventing such escape acts.
I bought a Monster Zapper 2 years ago & put in kitchen pass thru & it was wonderful ❗I need new bulbs for it since it was on day & night & bulbs are hard to find...
Word of caution using this indoors. Any bug zapper is basically exploding the bug. So you end up with bug guts and parts flying everywhere. So that little tray on the bottom will only catch a fraction of the dead bug. Plus, it would be highly unsanitary to use a bug zapper in a kitchen or anywhere where you'd be preparing or eating food. Jeff, out of curiosity are you compensated in any way by Bell & Howell for doing these reviews of the Bug Trapper and Bug Zapper products?
I thought it was strange to use a bug zapper inside, I have heard from a few people that said inside bugs can be a problem in certain areas. Good tip about areas where food is prepared. I dont receive any compensation from Bell and Howell for these reviews. I buy the product myself and give my honest review. I hope that clarifies. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Fleas are tough. I used to have rental properties and the only way I could get rid of them was to have a flea treatment - which wasn't cheap. This unit catches all sorts of bugs but only if they come in it.
I love how, at the 8:10 mark, a moth flies to the right of your screen, lol!!! He’s like, “Haha, you missed me!!!” Better hurry and plug in the zapper!
I’m happy to hear it works well. I just purchased mine from Walmart, and plan to use it indoors at my office, which has a bit too many gnats for my liking.
Heya! Does it produce enough light by itself, to use as only light source for porch sitting? Our porch is 35 ft long. Thought I'd put The Zapper on one end and sit at the other...
Going to have to look into one of these. Probably a little more efficient than the old ones. Hoping you'll make a followup on this in a few weeks after it's slayed a few thousand pests. Great review as always!🤗💜
Thanks for the support Sara. This was certainly one product that lived up to its claim. Thanks for checking it out and I'll let you know how its doing in a few weeks.
You can put it under the porch outside. Away from the rain and such. I don't see the inside thing. Great video my friend and thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day.
The funny thing is the directions tell you not even to use it under a covered porch. I bet they are concerned if it is left in the rain. Thanks for checking it out.
My favorite product you have reviewed so far. ZZZZZZAP ⚡️ =☠️. The only good mosquito is a dead mosquito 🦟!!! My grandpa had the big round metal bug zapper back in the 80’s and that thing killed em all! I don’t recall ever getting any mosquito bites but I do recall many mosquito deaths! Haha! This thing probably works close to the same. Cool review!
Mosquitos are terrible. This was certainly a fun one to review especially with all of the pops when the bugs hit the wire. I'm going to look forward to using this during the summer and keeping those bugs away. Thanks again for the comment.
I have subscribed to your channel ,and yes I did hit the Bell, so every time you have something coming up, I'll get a notification. I just want to know, will it zap stink bugs ,when they get in your house ,because there isn't a spray ☠️on the market , that will kill a stink bug😬
Thanks for supporting my channel. You know what's funny, I have had good success with dawn dish soap and water against stink bugs. It kills them almost immediately. That being said they still get in. Hope that helps.
I just got the Monster Trapper, but I didn't buy the Zapper. I figured it would be too noisy while I sleep. Interesting that it is mainly indoor use like the Trapper. Hopefully the Trapper works. I'll have to pick up an extension cord tomorrow. Thanks for the vid!
How well does this work for mosquitoes, one reviewer on the Aspectek bug zapper was honest to say if you need it for mosquitoes, it doesn’t really work, but for all other flying insects it’s great.
For me, I found that it attracted mosquitos, that doesn't mean all the mosquitos in the area went into the light. We also use citronella candles to help those mosquitos away.
@@Jeffreviews4u interesting, I'm curious if those mosquito's who don't feel compelled to follow the light still not do so once they pass over into the light lol

No, they like the heat it gives off. You will fine LED Zappers useless on Skeeters. I modify zappers by adding high voltage capacitors. Makes it much stronger and flies literally blow up in pieces with a loud CrAcK :-) from my hand tennis style wand zapper.
I use outside, yet the manufacturer recommends it be used inside. I dont have it out on the rain. The spaces are pretty big, if the bug fits it will work.
@@Jeffreviews4u The one my brother has looks almost like a bird house in that it has a roof over it to protect it from the rain. It brings in moths really well and comes with mosquito attractant to help bring those in. I have yet to see it get flies though, and that's the main reason he got it.
