In Zombies of the Stratosphere, invaders come to Earth to create an H-bomb to blast Earth out of orbit so that Mars can take its place. With Rocket men and Hot Water Heater Robots, and miniature effects by the Lydecker Brothers, Zombies of the Stratosphere is among the last of the Republic Serials produced. Watch for Leonard Nimoy, in his first movie role! Развлечения
It is so cool how if your car is about to crash you can just jump out, most times you will not even lose your hat.
Hey, they were called "The Greatest Generation" for a reason!
"Prepare for landing" and they grip the chair arms. :D :D Excellent safety measures.
Nothing says space age sci-fi like, "This is Larry, calling Sue".
5:33 That landing 👌😂
This is really fun and enjoyable 🙂
But times were obviously very different : There's a guy with a jet pack that can fly very high and very fast and he still wears elegant pants and dress shoes to fly into action...At least I hope he kept his shoes properly polished 😄😄
Clips were used in the comedy "J Men Forever"...
Thug: "Hey, ain't that Leonard Nimoy?"
2nd Thug: "I don't know. I can't see his ears"
I love that movie -- viva la Night Flight!
😂😂😂😂
If I was flying thru the air at supersonic speed ,I would like some glass in my goggles
These are gems. thanks for posting.
Most welcome. Thanks for watching!
Spock switched allegiances because the Vulcans had better working conditions and pay!
Zombies of the Stratosphere had EVERYTHING! A Robot, A guy in a flying suit, Rocket ships, underwater....GUYS....(I don't know why), Cowboys! Everything a 9 year old boy craves!
55:25
-"Brick, where did you get a hand grenade?"
-"I don't know."
Amazing stuff from the golden age they should start remaking these classics 😂
Is that Commando Cody ? He’s tight !
thanks for saving us all
So glad you are enjoying the films!
Great stuff-Fantastic-Love it❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤
This is at least the 3rd serial I've seen with that mini-tank in it, lol! wsj!
Have to say, Aline Towne was a lot more fun in The Invisible Monster. Here she is two years later, and in the whole three hours she doesn't bail out of a speeding automobile once, nor venture into a single abandoned mine. She does have a bit of a scuffle with a walking postbox around 1:21:25, which at least is something, but aside from that, office work clearly wasn't what it used to be.
Good show! Thank you...
Sooooo funny! 😂😂😂😂
I actually find this more watchable than its predecessors, King of the Rocket Men and Radar Men from the Moon, to say nothing of its successor, Commando Cody Sky Marshall of the Universe.
Very good serial…similar to Commando Cody.
Leonard Nimoy was on it! 🖖🖖🖖🖖
@@mohammedisaa9952 Michael is my father. This isn't a Halloween character.
Yeah! So Cool!!!
Live Long and Prosper!!!
Notice that they shoot up a storm, but seldom hit their targets. People are beaten up, but never seriously enough to go to a doctor.
They obviously put some sort of limit on the violence, as near as I can tell, these seem to have been targeted to a younger audience?
I always like these went i was boy
I thoroughly enjoyed watching that. Many thanks for posting!
May 24, 2023---Anyone out there ever watch these types of serials? Saw more than one at various Air Force bases, starting in the late 50's when we were stationed at Bitburg AFB, Germany.
The Capitol Theater in Augusta, Maine, used to show them on Saturdays in my 1950s childhood.
Love it
Leonard Nimoy is Narab a Martian.
Amazing! The Marian has an American accent!!!
Of course, what else?
Leonard Nimoy!! Hoorah
Yep. Everybody's favorite vulcan. 😊😊🖖🖖🖖
I always wondered why Republic put slightly misleading titles on some of these serials. "Zombie" implies an animated corpse, and the villains of this serial come from Mars, far above our stratosphere. Anyway, this one is typical of early 50s Republic fare - cheap, cheesy, and a lot of fun to watch. As the studio's fortunes fell into decline after WWII and the advent of broadcast television, so did the quality of their serials. But no matter how many times I watch an old Republic serial (I've watched a number of them several times) they never fail to entertain.
Zombie also implies sleepwalker, or someone reduced to their base motor functions or some primitive state of being. Also in metaphor as ghoulish reminders, or nagging consciences. The ongoing Scare rhetoric was potent in 1952. The alien other became the carriers of subversive ideals, or symbolic of the destruction of American patriotism and Freedom. In a lot of things from this period 'zombie' can be read as 'subversive', and the inevitable destructive threat their arrival would manifest. I haven't watched this yet so I don't know if it has any relevance here, but it's the thing a lot of the time.
That was deep. But I can see how this might be true, given the cold war paranoia of the 50s. And 60s. And...@@chrisreadman9426
Gracias por este clasico......
Looks like they got the spaceship and crew costumes from 1930s Flash Gordon serials.
Looks like Commando Cody!
Clearly rocket man were big business. "big rocket" wanted you to think this was possible. Thankfully "big rocket" was defeated by "big computer", but now we will be ruled by computers. All hail the CPU! ;)
"Nothing can stop us now!"
So in the end. Spock saves the earth..!
❤❤❤❤❤
Expect rifftrax to find this one soon.
"We have the supreme weapons!"
"Yes,but WE have the Supreme Pizzas!"
These men hats don't come off 😂😂😂😂😂
Greater than STAR WARS
Musique instrumentale gens sont engagés auprès deux dernières factures qui restent tout 😅
So I suppose Spock was the second alien Leonard Nimoy portrayed.
Actually, Nimoy's first film appearance was in 1951's "Queen For A Day".
We nerds refuse to count that one! It's this film, and then Them! 😆
@@AtomicAgePictures Where does "Kid Monk Baroni" fit in?
That robot has been around too -- it should have its own entry in the IMDB! wsj!
Exactly!
First appearance of a laptop in the cinema! It looks like their Internet connection is a good as mine! Cheers, wsj
love the bad guy's get-up. I should dress like that. I would wow them at Walmart.
Well groomed , slender men in well tailed suits , wearing smart hats , Both the good and bad guys .Women wearing nice dresses with high heeled shies well groomed and slender . Everybody's driving old jalopy's with manual three speed transmissions .
So, why does rocketman have to jump to take off? After all, he has a rocket. Heh :)
Because....reasons!
So, is this Nimoy's first "space flik"?........
It's Nimoy's first flik period.
Did l miss the zombies? I didn't see any zombies.
Zombies in the 50s were more clean cut. They said things like "yes sir", and "thank you ma'am".
Far cry from The Walking Dead.
Why did the living "zombie" tell Larry about the bomb when he helped made it in the first place?
Wait a minute, that scene with the dam looked familar?
Yeah, I've seen a dam, too!
DOES ROSWELL AND AREA 51 HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS MOVIE???
01-10
Doe Elon Musk know about this plan to replace Earth with Mars?
where the flip are the zombies not one
They're watching the video.
Might want to check your spelling of Stratosphere lol @ "Stratopspheare"
