Lisa I just love the way you teach. Easy to follow and I have done some of your mug rugs previous and had never heard of mug rug before. I really enjoy them. Thank you.
I like how you take your time. I need to slow down...less mistakes. I cut my batting smaller..just a half inch bigger all around. I LOVE making mug rugs. Thank you Lisa for your great ideas. I am sitting here with my cup of coffee this morning enjoying your videos. I get a lot of anxiety and your videos are so calming.😀
Great tutorial and fun patterns! Would love to see you put together your original coffee cup mug rug. The wavy layers on the cup and edging are fun looking.
I really like how you are so patient while quilting! Thanks for the video. I’m just beginning to quilt after 54 years of sewing garments and miscellaneous items.
Already got my coffe/tea mug rug pattern. These are going to work great with my stocking stuffers. Thanks for the updates. Have a wonderful trip. Enjoy those fall colors. I love Vermont.
I love these patterns! For mine I used white felt squares. Got them for a quarter each at Walmart and for the mug I used a spritz of spray glue (cheaper then spray basting.) Worked out so pretty! Thanks so much!!!
Hello Lisa. I would like to do a quilt as you go as a block if the month project. Would you like to consider doing a video like that for us that want to try our hand in that. I’ve never taken my quilts to be quilted and the largest quilt I’ve made is a twin size but it’s not easy on a domestic home machine. Thanks for the great videos. I enjoy the videos because I don’t have any quilting friends so RUclips is my sewing time enjoyment.
I love how you addressed the emotions of whats happening these days, as last week my work was on shutdown again due to the virus. I work in restaurant so now im at home for who knows how long. My saving grace is i have an abundant collection of fabric and books to keep me busy and sane but my anxiety comes from all my stuff. I buy a precut and yardage online as im working on a project so when my stuff is delivered i forgot what i was gonna make so it gets added to the shelf. You talked about organizing, can you possibly do a tutorial on how you do it. I bought a project journal thinking i would list my precut and find a pattern and write it down then what? Thank you for any ideas or suggestions.
staying organized with different projects is one of my downfalls, so you are not alone there!! I am so sorry that your work has been shut down again.....all of this is such a mess but it's a blessing that you are creative and find ways to keep busy.....I really think that helps a lot!
HELP! Why do all of my quilt as you go patterns come out wonky? I am careful with the measuring and cutting but without fail the end result is very uneven.
It is hard to say without seeing exactly your whole process. I wonder if you could adjust the pressure of your presser foot? Also, maybe you need to use a walking foot?
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead thank you for your response. I have tried the walking foot but I am not a fan of it. Maybe I can can try adjusting the tension.
Hi Lisa Capen which scanNcut model you have? Which is the difference between scanNcut & crucuit maker? Which is best for cutting fabrics and patterns for appliques?
I have the CM350. The Brother ScannCut has the built in scanner which I love where the Cricut does not....other then that they both do about the same with some small variances. I'd watch some review and compare videos here on RUclips, that might be helpful :)
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead hey, Lisa thank you for your respond I was researching. Found a Brother ScanNCut DX SDX125E. I am in love I played a video & I believe this is the machine for me 🥰😍

You are so easy to follow! What is the size of your batting or rather thickeness?
a cotton or 80/20 is a good thickness for a mug rug, a poly gives to much fluff and makes it harder to use for cups

QUESTION: How are you able to put your iron on the batting w/o it sticking to your iron?
it's 100% cotton....or you could just cover your batting with a scrap cotton fabric before pressing :)
Where is the “description “ box??

Is cotton batting best so it can be flat?
I like the 80/20 because it's thin and flat and because I can press it without scorching or melting it.
What’s the easiest way to put a photo on fabrics
I would say the easiest way to add a photo to a quilt would be to print it out on the June Tailor Colorfast fabric sheets, they are easy :)
