Speaking of meditation, I used to teach it but I always had a hard time with it (kind of ironic, I know). I've tried and taught almost every kind imaginable. I've found that the best one for me an allowing meditation where one just practices allowing everything be exactly as it is (including you and the ADHD brain) and just being there with it. The brain will go wild and you just say OK, it's fine! It's so freeing and is the only time I feel totally free of ADHD. I like to do it in the line at the grocery store or watching my kids sporting events, or anywhere where I can sit back and be hands off because it gives me practice for real life where I need it the most. Sitting with my eyes closed in lotus pose just makes it worse and unpractical to me. My point is I've had the complaint that meditation is too hard. But it can be as simple as just allowing life and yourself to be as it is and be there with it as it unfolds.

Great topic! I'm so glad I found this video, thank you for doing this podcast. I've been thinking that I might have adhd recently and asked my mom about whether she experienced any symptoms similar to mine when she was younger. The thing that stuck out for her was that she found it really hard to concentrate when she was writing her dissertation part time and going through menopause. But then after that period of her life she said it got better. I'm near the same age she was, so maybe that's why it's been feeling harder.

This was informative and very helpful. So good to find help aimed at mature girls.
I have suffered for such a long time and got a diagnosis 4 months ago. This was comforting to listen to, knowing that others feel the same.
Thank you from Anna (Perth, WA)

I'm around your age and going thru diagnosis. It's really eye opening to have a name for what I've been dealing with my whole life, as suspected. It took a career change in the wrong direction and having family responsibilities to get to this conclusion. I wish you luck!
