i know this is a demonstration video, but my goodness this dance really was breathtaking, just cements the fact that i wanna learn to do this really badly
wow, i have never seen someone dancing like this before. its so wonderful, i... excuse me.., i'm weeping, when ive seen this perfection and harmony.. just awesome! there is nothing left to say.
It is so wonderful to see such basic figures executed so extremely well. The technique is perfect! But well, can you expect less from the absolute greatest ballroom couple in the world! Mirko and Alessia have won every single tournement they've participated in since august 2005 - now THAT is amazing! And we are talking Professional championships with the absolute highest standards in the world! It's an absolute joy every time I see them dance! They are the couple to look up to!
I was always taught just to let my head move with the angle of the lead's shoulders. It's all connected. :) It does look like she's leaning back at some points, but I don't think she actually is.. she just has a good extension of the upper body. I don't know why it looks like that though... it's an amazing dance overall. I hope to be this good someday
Hi Isabel. There is no tilt of head or neck for the lady. The head should be a natural continuation of the spine. What you see is an "illusion" created by how the lady stands with her spine, which I believe Alessia shows to perfection in this video. One of the primary reasons for that is to create space for one another :-)
please tell me the name of the mellody. its such a wonderfull Music... Please... or tell me where i will find all , cause it stops... this dance is also so wonderfull, great job, well done
I think the audio line is not synchronious to the video line, or otherwise the dance is not in tact in some positions. The style and technique are honorable. Very nice to see .... :-D
I'm looking for this song.. i know it's Enya - Watermark but it's not the same version as Enya, since the song from enya is smooth and this one is a bit faster with a diffrent synch
Thanks for this. I'm sure that experienced dancers would have understood the context in which the term "basic" was intended. However,RUclips attracts a very wide audience, amongst which is bound to be a large body of people who would love to take up dancing but who might be daunted by imagining that what they are watching is as elementary as it gets. Tiger Woods's golf swing is probably "basic", but does that mean a beginner will also be able to drive a ball 340yards with pinpoint accuracy?
This routine is made of basic bronze , silver and gold syllabus steps , that’s why it’s called basic. Their technique is by no means “basic” word basic in this case does not imply it’s a beginner level dancer.
I have listen to the music as they dance.. I don't think the song is the same as Enya "Watermark" It maybe the same song, but it sounds a little faster tempo? If I am right do you know the artist?
@ucwhitten this is not my post it was posted by a previous user but it's no longer showing in the top posts so I'm reposting it to the top for people using it to practice.
Yes, there are different styles of waltz. In the USA, most of us begin by learning "social waltz," which is much simpler than this clip and maintains space between the bodies of the dancers. This clip shows the style called "Standard" or "International." This style is more common in Europe and Russia. The dancers' torsos are in close contact while dancing, the footwork is much more complex, and the body/head positions are more extreme than in "Social" style.
That's the problem with a whole host of so-called "basic" dance clips on RUclips. I don't even see the need for the term to be used, but it is with irritating regularity, especially by "Dapenda". This particular clip is absolutely enchanting but to give someone contemplating taking up dancing the impression that this kind of standard is "basic" is just plain ridiculous.
i dont know how many times i have watched this video over the past year but it nevers stops getting better.

I love how they're in sync with each other. Beautiful dance :)
I've not seen a basic waltz look more beautiful.
wow, i have never seen someone dancing like this before. its so wonderful, i... excuse me.., i'm weeping, when ive seen this perfection and harmony.. just awesome! there is nothing left to say.

You know, when i look up "basic waltz" in order to try and curb my innate left-footed-ness i didn't really need to see two pros going at it
Take a private lesson then...and watch the demo for enjoyment

So beautiful!
Beautiful!!!! The music's lovely too.
The Wing is PERFECT! Absolutely beautiful..!!
Wonderful combination
I absolutely love this so perfect. I am working to to be this elegant
To those who are wondering what music this is...it is called 'Watermark' by Enya.
Just Amazing! Perfect! Congratulations!
There is actually only one dance step Mirko is doing here: "Take care of your partner".
Where the feet go is secondary.
Very beautiful
wow, Its really beautiful. aww.
it's like she knows where he's goin to be at the exact moment he does it. That's amazing, it looks like a mirror
Needless to say that was BEAUTIFUL!!! I am still dancing 1 2 3...
That was beautiful
gorgeous
a beautiful waltz.
I like Mirko his dance walltz is very smooth ang looking feel very conforteble and I injoy his dance
It was redone by Valzer Lento, who has several other songs recomposed for ballroom dance routines.
valzer lento is simply Italian for "slow waltz" :)
beautiful
They dance lovely
This is very good. I would say this is Basic Advanced Level.
that's looks very graceful and romantic. :) I wish I had a guy to dance like this. x3
언제봐도 Good ...
안녕한국인이야?
Does one have to tilt their necks that much?
Hi Isabel. There is no tilt of head or neck for the lady. The head should be a natural continuation of the spine. What I don’t get is the 196 thumb downs. Micro and Alissa are as close to perfect as a human can get.
What a good looking couple. So graceful!
Thanks for sharing the song title. !
er? it looks like on time to me, it's just that sometimes they delayed the swing and come out on 3& instead of 3, which looks better i think
wonderful
The mini standing spin after left whisk is actually syllabus.
I like your dancing
@bosykova i think it's "Watermark" by Enya
Parfait. I want to dance like her. The name of the song is Watermark by Enya.
please tell me the name of the mellody. its such a wonderfull Music... Please... or tell me where i will find all , cause it stops... this dance is also so wonderfull, great job, well done
Fantistico..gliding on air
wow ! Faved and 5***** , it's gonna be rly useful 4 me to watch it !!!! Thank you :)

Tenha um bom dia ❤❤3,2 mil
Oh, wow... Somebody, PLEASE teach me how to dance like her! =D
Wing is a name of a figure, not an expression... Anyway, they dance it after whisk at 1:09...
I'm looking for this song..

Lovely
Am I correct in saying that these two former world champions have parted company and don't dance together at all anymore??....What a shame.
Que incomodidad, y amaneramiento...
Siete splendidi, ma si può sapere il titolo del brano che state ballando?
Wonderful~~

You're in luck, Josh. It doesn't take much to learn to do it "really badly".
@shsulax
They're beautiful.
I have listen to the music as they dance.. I don't think the song is the same as Enya "Watermark" It maybe the same song, but it sounds a little faster tempo? If I am right do you know the artist?
That’s basic? Standard is more difficult than American style.
Pancake 52 it’s basic Bronze, Silver & Gold Standard figures from WDSF syllabus. American style is a joke in comparison.
those two people should go on britians got talent or something.
What is the name of this song?? Watermark, i know, but i need THIS version (3/4). Anybody know where i get this song?
