    I think the point of all the extra stuff is for muffler mounts is for the pillion pegs and also for paneer mounts. I love the nice quite ideal sound. I just ordered mien can't weight to get it and ride it. One downside you forgot to mention is have having a very hard time finding the tork wrench settings for all the bolts to do the services your self.

      Thanks for the comments, yes it's cracking bike. The standard exhaust note is very nice. I'm sure the workshop service manual will be available in PDF somewhere. It's an easy bike to maintain so yes the torque settings would be handy.

      @@joshuathomas8529 sorry for the late reply, I'm with you on the muffler, I cannot see the advantage of changing it, unless you want a louder note. For me I quite like the refined note, with a grunt when you need it. Enjoy ✌️

    I own a Metor 350, with which I am 90 percent satisfied. I say 90 because if it had at least 10 to 15 more horsepower I would be 100 percent satisfied. In fact I am thinking about the SM, to which I would immediately move the footrests back (15/20 cm is enough) and add the heel-toe shift control... 😉 Cheers!

    I am curious about the mid-level peg you mentioned. I didn't realize you could change it out with a kit. How does that work? Do you remove these or do you add them to keep both?

    • @motechRevolution
      @motechRevolution  10 месяцев назад +1

      There is a mid peg for highway riding although it doesn't replace the forward sets, it's an addition. Although now with the Shotgun coming soon with mid mounted controls a full change over should be easy

    Eight months on from this vid, any comments on minimal chain adjustment and sprocket wear? Seems to be a big issue in India. Thanks for the vid. Cheers.

      Maybe different chain and sprockets in India for the home market, mine is still within Spec.

    The shotgun 650 has the mid mounted pegs and controls. The position of the controls on the super meteor is a deal breaker for me.

      They should be interchangeable, same chassis the hard part will be getting the parts. I'm not a fan of the blacked out parts on the shotgun.

      Hi Thanks for the comments, it's too early into my ownership to have noticed any problems. It may have been an early production run problem. However from new there has never been enough future adjustment capability from factory settings. Time will tell. If I see any problems I'll upload an update. Ride safe ✌️

    Sorry but, how can you compare this with the weight of a Harley cruiser when they go 300kg plus as for the Finnish, less then £7.000 for the basic. Yes the steering lock is crap got to agree there. I’ve got a Triumph T100 which is about 20kg. lighter, but feels a lot heavier co’s the weight is higher up, so feels top heavy. But it’s all about your own preferences it will suite some but not others. 👍 ride safe buddy

    • @motechRevolution
      @motechRevolution  11 месяцев назад +1

      You have to remember that the 1200 sportster is a cruiser and the GS 1200 for example is lighter. It’s a heavy bike. That said for 7500 € its much better value than the T100. The finish is excellent at its price point. Would I take a 452 himi plus a SM instead of a triumph, you bet. I have owned plenty of triumphs. Triumph is a great bike producer but nothing on the scale of RE. Numbers wise. At the end of the day it’s about personal preference. Loved all my Triumphs but this SM is up there with them. Ride safe.

      @@motechRevolution The 1200 HD Sportster is considered a small motorcycle by Harley standards. The only cruiser I've ridden so far was a borrowed HD Dyna Superglide that a friend lets me borrow sometimes in the summer. 750 lbs the way it's kitted out, 1500cc air cooled twin. Forward controls. Even though it fits me, I don't care for the grossly oversized engine, the poor fuel mileage. Good to see RE stepping into the cruiser segment.

      @@suzyamerica4679 Hi Suzy, I agree, I had a 1500 VL intruder (Suzuki) it was an imposing lump of a bike. I much prefer the SM650 for scooting around on. It’s a lot taller than the VL but much nicer to ride on the twisties. Ride safe ✌🏻

      @@motechRevolution The thing I would want to use the Super Meteor 650 for would be a distance road-tripping cruiser. It looks a little short on luggage space unless you do things at the tail, like to move the lights rearward, in order to carry more luggage back there.

      @motechRevolution  Год назад

      Try it, as I’ve said I’m not a fan of the forward pegs but it has all the things I want in a RE. It’s retro enough with out going full retro like the Classic line. There will be a mid mounted control option soon. If you can live with it in the interim it’s a sweet ride. Stay safe my friend

    Not sure this review ended with a 'don't buy' rating... but it is crazy to think at 7kUS this is a budget bike. At twice the price, the Triumph Speedmaster weighs 22kg more than the Super Meteor (with twice the engine). The Speedmaster puts the controls in the same location as well. In my view, what you save you can put in better rear shocks and a lighter/better exhaust easily, and still be well below the Triumph.

      @motechRevolution  11 месяцев назад +1

      It was a tongue in cheek review. It's an amazing bike. It's such a joy to ride. The air oil cooled engine and the gearbox are so smooth. The build quality is now up there with the Triumph. The whole market is changing with regards to pricing. CF Moto from china are putting out some amazing machines at a fraction of European and US manufacturers. Although Triumph and Harley have gone to Indian manufacturers now for their smaller capacity bikes. Interesting times. Thanks for your comments. Ride safe ✌️

    Vulcan 650 S all day 🥂😎 lighter faster less money…I looked at these too but really not sure about this..🤔

    • @motechRevolution
      @motechRevolution  11 месяцев назад +4

      Yep there are other options, either more expensive or cheaper. It’s heavy whilst it’s static, but when riding it’s very light and nimble. For me it’s the 3rd RE I have owned and it’s somewhat about the brand being the oldest continuously produced motorcycle manufacturer, so the classic aspect. But I have to say after owning Japanese bikes they are smooth and reliable, but the SM is up there with them, the engine and box are butter smooth and it’s a real joy to ride with shed loads of grin factor. People would look at a Vulcan, but they want to talk to you about the RE. It has a real presence. Take one for a test ride, if you come back grinning, there’s your answer. Thanks for the comments and ride safe ✌🏻

    You should have bought an Interceptor instead of the Super Meteor. 😎

    • @motechRevolution
      @motechRevolution  Год назад +1

      Tried one, just didn’t like it, felt flimsy to me and the build quality was still not up there. Again it’s a personal choice. The SM 650 is a lot of bike for the money, maybe the classic 650 when it arrives would have been perfect. But like i said, we are always waiting for the perfect bike. It just doesn’t exist. I’m happy with the SM 650, never say never but it’s a keeper at this moment in time, although the wife wants the Himi 452 when it lands. 😉. Thanks for the input ride safe my friend

      @@motechRevolution The mid-controls was a dealbreaker for me with the Interceptor and is one of the reasons that I'm considering the Super Meteor when it finally comes to the USA; I prefer forward-controls. Like you stated earlier, personal choice. Take care and stay safe.😎

      @@artiecisneros4691 I rode my VL 1500 for 20 years with forward controls, never had a problem. With a super low seat height it was perfect. The seating position on the SM 650 is more akin to the Harley Sportster, hence for me and the height mid would feel better with forward highway pegs. I find riding the SM 650 ok as it is. It's just not easy to stand up or take the weight of your but on rough ground. 😉

      @@motechRevolution The most important for me in a bike is siting "in" the bike not "on" the bike like a jockey. I hope that makes sense. If I was mostly riding on dirt, I would definitely prefer mid-controls for sure, it would make more sense, just like riding a mountain bike. As far as the Super Meteor, once I test it, I will know if it is a keeper or not.😎
