There are many instances of valor, individual and units. It is amazing what soldiers can and will do when called upon for their fellow soldiers. "Band of Brothers". "There is no greater love..." While history may focus on one side, Valor ultimately knows no nationality. Beautiful presentation as always.

Totally agree, nicely said, Life! I still can't imagine how hard much of this combat must have been for both sides, though. And thank you. :)

Indeed. I have read some of what Germany and Russia endured during that struggle and it is quite amazing what they went through on both sides. Heroism is not always rewarded or noticed. And you're welcome, Zilla.

I have Absolute War in my reading pile, half looking forward to it and half fearing it. :)

Absolute War, there's a concept worthy of fear. I prefer to look to thinkers like Lao Tzu.

Excellent review, also had a look at this series, which appears to be almost as large as ASL. Currently sorting Spruance leader and three extensions which dearly beloved purchased from her dog racing winnings last Saturday.

Nice review. I like the look of the maps and counters. Have you already reviewed the Heroes of the Motherland? I can't remember that video.

Thanks! I'm curious how the armored combat nuances play out, yes, and dozens of Russian tanks against a handful of Tigers sounds interesting as well. :) ~ I actually don't have Heroes of the Motherland yet. :) I'll have to pick it up at some point.

Blimey Zilla, it's no wonder you waited until Mrs Zilla was out of town before unboxing all this stuff. I hope you didn't tell her that the teetering pile of boxes was work-related stuff you had brought home...

Haha! Too funny, but to be honest, I think I've got every flat surface in the house covered with counters and maps. :) More unboxings to come, and then I'm going to focus on getting all these to the table. Much playing. :)

Dude. Please stop making these videos! I beg you. I’m running out of money to toss at LnL.😂 Seriously, thanks for these. Well done and very informative. Now I only have to wait for these expansions to arrive.

Haha! Whoops! Sorry about the wallet thing. 😀 But I hope you enjoy the games. They seem thoughtful and well executed, and I'm looking forward to playing them.

@@ZillaBlitz They are indeed. I’ve all the Heroes series for WW2 and enjoy them a lot. They are really great toolboxes for making your own scenarios along with the ones provided. I’d lost track of Bitter Harvest, which is now pre-ordered, thank you very much. Lol.

Wow, that must be a massive collection! There are a LOT of modules. With all those counters and maps, you must be able to generate just endless possibilities for games. Nice!

Great video, as was Bitter Harvest and Enemy at the Gates - waiting to receive all three after pledging on Gamefound. Must say that I am a bit disappointed at Valor of the 13. The map 88 is a reprint of map 59 previously included in the earlier OOP expansion Dark July 43 with some of the features removed to make it more generic [text references to “Oktiabrskii State Farm”, “Hill 252.2”, “To Prochorovka”, fields of crops and railway line along one edge all removed]. The quality of the map is only paper I think you said. The Dark July 43 (3rd edn) was a single sheet thin card stock 34” x 22” which folded in both directions to approx 11 1/2” x 7 1/2” (warped and virtually unusable). I ended up locating a copy of Dark July 43 (1st edn) just to obtain a copy of of its map 59 - thicker card stock, 2 piece (each folds into 8 1/2” x 11”, with a single 11” cut up the middle) - works perfectly.
I have to say that the quality of LnL components generally are great however the map tiles sometimes don’t seem to be up to the same standard as the rest of the components. GMT’s Panzer works perfectly and the thin card stock works perfectly for a system with multiple geomorphic maps (GMT have great mounted maps but these seem to be included selectively depending on the game; or sometimes retrospectively as a separate P500 if there is demand). The map A from Panzer base game works perfectly for a 34” x 22” large map. I hope that the maps for Bitter Harvest and Enemy at the gate match those (or even the LnL Nations at War series) and that Valor of the 13th is the exception.

Thanks, Goryoun, and thanks for all the information on the maps. There's a lot of helpful information to unpack there. The two maps in Valor of the 13th are quite different from those in Bitter Harvest, both in dimensions and material. The Bitter Harvest and Enemy at the Gates are of a cardstock for both the regular size and X size maps. I feel like they'll fit together well as a mini-system to create a lot of game options. The Valor maps feel like they are in many ways for the larger armor scenarios in the game, but I don't know how they'll morph with other maps in the system, or with Motherland.

That module was released before I became the owner of the company and I do my best to make sure the components top-notch for everything we release.
