I can't believe I found the original source for this song! I printed it out two years ago when I went to learn piano, the first song I chose that I learnt. How I finally have it down (a more simplified version my teacher helped me come up with though the sheet music) I'll finally be playing it in front of the school next week. I thought I'd never find the source! this is great!
Nah I'm dumping the project. I was using chords. But however you did it was a heck of a lot better, trust me. The chords in the song sounded awful, on a regular piano. Some guy on the mylittleremix forums found out it's because there was distortion used on some of the chords to add dramatic effect. So I've been working all day to conjure something to make those chords work. I've come pretty short unfortunately. Despite my epic fail, I'm very happy to see someone came up with a great piano cover!

For all you guys trying to make sheet music... I commend you. For example, a clarinet is in b flat. So its key is transposed one step above concert, because it sounds lower. This piece is in C Sharp major most of the time, with some accidentals. So we transpose to D sharp major. The enharmonic of E flat is unavailable, as this is not in D flat major, for such requires excessive accidentals. What does this mean? A clarinet would have 9 sharps, as D sharp major is a theoretical key. F double

Congrats on on EqD! I've never gotten there, even after spending weeks working on a Good Ol' Days transcription. In fact, they never even sent me back a reply... So it sounds like you transcribe by ear and place it on Noteflight. That can't be easy. I use equalizers and filters in FL Studio and it's still hard.
I personally think it was pretty darn close to perfect! I loved it, perfect to sing to or to base other instruments off of (I translated it to bass clef, I play the cello and felt like playing the melody)
Well no matter what key it's in, there will always be some crazy parts. There are so many different chords and key changes in this song that it'll always be crazy

One thing on this, when you get to the "We must escape" part, the melody creates a contrasting rhythm to the accompaniment, just straight 8th notes as opposed to the triplet feel

This song phases between C# major (or Db major, which is the same thing) and C# minor, then ends in B major. None of those keys are C minor, so yes, your version is different. However, C minor and C# minor are equally difficult in my opinion, so I don't see why it was necessary to move it to C minor. Also, I recorded the original song and tuned it down to C minor, and I think it sounds darker in C# minor. Each key has a different "color" to it, which creates different moods. A song can sound

A B# is a C, and an E# is just an F. Although they're weird notations, they are real. For convenience, B# is sometimes used instead of C, and E# instead of F.

Thanks for the advice, but I have other projects I need to transcribe based on request. I'm sure you've come to that point in transcription where you just want to take your computer and throw it out your second story window. I had to tape my computer down to my desk to keep myself from doing so. What program(s) do you use for transcription? I can't stand FL studio sometimes.
Not really. If you watch videos of the actual song, you'll see that the song/video is roughly 2:12 or 2:13. This video is 2:16. There's about 2 seconds of silence at the beginning and end of the video, so my arrangement comes out to roughly 2:12. Also, while trying to arrange this, I was playing a metronome while listening to the original. So I know what tempo to use. And the reason some parts are faster than others is because the original speeds up and slows down at certain parts.
It's not A# minor, it's C# major. I know it's the same thing, but the sections where it's in A# minor/C# major is in a major key. Also, only the first part and the end are in C# major. The main section is C# MINOR and has only 4 sharps. C# minor is a relatively easy key.

Well it's technically C# minor, or Db minor, for most of the song. However, the song begins in C#/Db major. Also, to me, all sharps makes more sense than 5 flats, because every note is just sharp, rather than having to keep track of which notes are flat. But C# is certainly not a common key. This was probably my worst transcription, since it was my first and had little experience with writing sheet music. Now my current projects are much better

Then, suddenly, a pink mass, beneath which read roughly 700,000 views, caught my attention. My brain said "interesting," so I decided to listen to it. Then I listened to it again, and I began listening to many other fanmade songs. This song introduced me to the fandom, and I still think music is one of the greatest aspects of the community. This is the third time I've submitted something and had them tell me it would go up. The first time, my piece actually was posted (my 8-bit version of "pony everypony should know") The second time, it wasn't... hopefully this time, it'll go up...
That'd be fun to do. There would be several difficulties, however. First, we would have to make sure both of us are always playing at the same tempo. Second, I don't have any good sound recorders, so the sound quality of my piano playing wouldn't be very good. I don't know how good your recorder is... Pianos and keyboards are the same, so my music sheet should work for your keyboard. However, some keyboards have a smaller range that pianos. So depending on how big your keyboard is, you may or may not be able to reach certain notes.
If there ever was a way for the songs from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic to be expressed on one sole instrument, this not only set the bar but set it pretty damn high.

What you're hearing is actually the vocalist's vibrato. The note does actually go down to a C, as opposed to sayaing on the Db

As long as you can reach octaves, you'll be fine. The main issue with This Day Aria is just the key signature. C#/Db major is a hard key to play in
