We’ve been filming together for nearly a year at this point! In our videos, Godwin’s the technical specs expert, I’m the videographer and professional complainer 😂
Nice little video 👍 I'm in my fifties and can still remember the original hop on off buses and trains with wooden doors, this modern stuff looks like a spaceship in comparison.
Cool video! I can't wait to ride these buses when the SL4 enters service. Never been on the 101 before but I do know that the Enviro 400's and the Gemini 2's it used were transferred to Bexleyheath Garage to be used on routes 99, 269 & 401. I think Godwin mentioned in his video on the 320 that the bell sounds like a WWE Round Bell noise 😆😆😆 The bus is quite interesting in my opinion 👍👍👍
Will be boarding that bus in a few days also with the news that FirstGroup is returning to London after 12 years (sadly at their old CentreWest patch for the foreseeable) it's going to be quite a nostalgia to see them back giving that First used to operate around the North East of London.
Must say I really love the professional editing style of your videos! The drone shots, the graphics and everything looks so perfect! I am still admired by the fact you went from an 11 year old who just liked transport to an amazing figure in the transport community with over four thousand subscribers! Keep it up and all the best for the future of your channel ❤
Thanks so much Majid for your kind words, please do stick around as there are some very exciting productions coming in 2025. This is looking to be a great year for the channel.
@@rikufryderyk It is a great bus indeed! The ride quality was great, the acceleration was perfect and the interior was amazing! I’m looking forward to doing the ones on the 98 soon!!😁
I’ve been on this bus on the 320 route and it’s really nice I really like the coloured lights in the bus and the lights going up the stairs, the outside is also interesting and different from other buses here
I write about BEV (well zero-emission vehicles) for a living and my expertise is in commercial vehicles. A lot of people do not understand or know how big of a company BYD is (they make more cars than Telsa) and how advanced and world-leading their buses are. A few years ago in China weekend after weekend for about a year starting with 25,000 buses per area/city and ending up with 150,000 buses were swapped from ICE to EV to start work Monday morning.
Went on EBD32 on the 320 on its first service of friday morning on the 17th January, those buses are very nice to go on, back when they had their prototype BD11, i was let into the drivers cab
Hey dude actually now Newham borough got 2 Byds 11 101 and 473 101 ( wanstead to Beckton bus station) 473 (stratford to north woolwich ferry terminal).
You should come to Portsmouth we have a number of EV buses and the end result is to replace all 96 ICE buses with EV buses and finish building a new bus station where they can be changed/serviced/cleaned overnight
These look awesome! Are there any other regions of the UK that have electric buses? First Bristol say "they're helping the air", half of their buses are gas, but then again the other half are diesel. Good to see Godwin in a transport video!
I am a slightly younger transport enthusiast (I don’t want anyone to shame me for my age). I don’t really have time to leave Southampton - yes I am from the south coast/south west - so I am stuck to nearby towns and cities.
Would you be able to record the sound of the front speakers on this bus while moving? I am interested in how it sounds😊 Also any opinions about this sound would be appreciated 🙏🏻
So, the sound used for electric vehicles has been called a ‘spaceship-like sound’ and was first introduced in about 2022 (pls don’t quote me on that) There’s an old report from Tom Edwards that you can find on RUclips about this topic.
@@rikufryderykIt's called London Urban Bus Sound. It was designed by Zelig and Anderson Acoustics. But did you like it on this bus? Does it go silent when the bus is moving fast, as it's supposed to? Thanks.
Buses in Aberdeen are Hydrogen fuelled. Its such a shame that someone as young as you are cannot make a film that celebrates a British manufactured bus, rather than one made in China.
There will be many videos to come this year featuring Alexander Dennis Buses (based in Scotland) for example about the launch of the Enviro 100 EV model. There’s nothing wrong with Chinese-manufactured buses, BYD is an industry leader. I’ve never seen a hydrogen bus before, even though there are quite a few of them driving around London.
@rikufryderyk Please don't misunderstand me. I'm not denigrating the Chinese made buses. I would rather see a resurgence of British manufacturing and home grown electric buses. The sad fact is that electric buses in the form of trolley buses were once a common sight in many UK towns and cities. They, along with the tram networks, were removed by the 1960s. By shortsighted politicians lining their own pockets.
W bus enthusiast duo!

Well done🤩🤩
Thanks chaps, so important to get these realtime user experiences & you lot know your buses. 🥰🙏
No problem, it’s all good fun

Very heartening! reminds me of my first ride on a Routemaster on route 2, in 1954!!
Seeing you two nerd out together is absolutely heartwarming ❤

Excellent review video - great team of co-presenters - love the way you approach your videos. 🙂
Goadwin has an amazing smile
Good luck to you two.
What a video! These BYDS Are amazing and i have just rode on them and hope it get established in the future! 😊
Cool video, thank you
Glad you liked it!
Good video riku the BYD bd11 bus is now in service on the routes 320 and 473 operated by metrobus and blue triangle
I been looking forward to this video - thank you for the review
I love the bell sounds, but it look like a nice bus, great video
The bell sounds are very unique for a London bus, I agree they are nice. Glad you enjoyed the vid!
those new BYDs look amazing & i def want to have a ride on one now & i cant wait to spot some too around London in the future brilliant vlog

love this video y'all
Great video Riku! Definitely need to come down to London to try and get some of these at some point (and those pantograph buses too!)
Ah, yes, the 358. Still haven’t had a chance to go and see them yet!
I went on these today, absolutely loved them (353 has these, I was lucky enough to ride one as they’re actually very rare at the moment)

Good work! Loved the video!
Very futuristic. I can't wait to try this bus when I get the time.
The aircon might have been on in order to dehumidify the bus. It's a trick I use driving my bus in wet or cold weather here in New Zealand 🇳🇿

@rikufryderyk 268 in Golders Green , lovely and new singledeckers.Wpadaj , dam ci znać kiedy 🙂
Would you agree that the 'dimmed lights'? on this bus is also perfect for those with sensory issues?
Absolutely! 👍

Shame my routes are getting Electroliners not BD11s. Although Electroliners are good as well. As long as it's not the tram bus I am happy.
I’ve been it on the 2nd Day
Nice video! I know all the hype is on the new buses, but what do you think of the enviro 400’s and Gemini 2’s?
They’re my favourites!

I'm not sure about this.
All the double-deckers of National Express Coventry are electric and have been for something like two years already.
Did you know that the BYD BD11 is a rail replacement as well
I like them, but hate how they're going on every route in London. Btw congrats on 4k 👀

yes, I was considering the risks involved when positioning the camera lol
It’s a shame we can’t even build our own busses. Never mind export them.
True there is British based Leyland company which almost produces top notch public transport buses for indian metropolitan cities
