  • Welcome to the beaches of Uluwatu on the island of Bali, Indonesia. We're headed to 4 of the most popular beaches in Uluwatu. This vlog follows me over 4 days of beach exploring in one of the most beautiful corners in the world. Uluwatu is known for the incredible surf, clear blue water, and white sand beaches. Our first visit was to Blue Point Beach. This was within walkking distance of where I was staying, but I took the scooter there for a faster trip. My only regret from this beach was not visiting during low tide so I could walk to the other areas of the beach that were not accessible during high tide. But if you're interested in breathtaking views, food, and shops, then this will work well for you. Be sure to check out Single Fin while you are here. There are views from this restaurant and bar that you will not find anywhere else.
The next stop was Padang Padang Beach. This is a beach I can see myself returning to time and time again. There is scooter parking across the street for a small fee. I think it was 5000 IDR. I may be wrong. But it was a small amount. You also have to pay an entrance fee. If you are not an Indonesian citizen you pay more. Which, I think is perfectly fair. From there you walk through a beautiful temple structure down a series of stone walkways. This is a theme with almost all beaches in Uluwatu. You will earn your time at the beach by working your way down some very steep and uneven stones. They are swept and cared for, but watch your step and beware of monkeys. Once you reach the beach you are greeted by vendors selling clothing, trinkets, and drinks. As well as a few small food stands with very affordable and delicious options. There are also a number of surf rental stands there. I hadn't been surfing in years, but I decided today was the day. I paid 50,000 IDR (a few USD) and had the time of my life for about an hour. I realized how exhausted I was and before I got myself into trouble with the current, I headed back in. Be sure that you check with the locals and ask them about the water if you intend on swimming or surfing. The tides, currents, and rip curls can be overwhelming for less experienced or tired swimmers/ surfers. I'd recommend watching the movement of the waves and how the water moves before testing the waters with a swim anywhere on the island.
Next on my list was Impossible Beach. This one was a little harder to find. There is an area to park for free, but don't leave anything on or in your scooter. Not even in your locked area under your seat. Thieves can get into these easily. The walk down is about 15 minutes of steep stone stairs. There were a few small places along the way that I think were selling food, but they didn't seem open as I passed that day. The beach was empty when I first got there and I enjoyed a private beach for the first 30 minutes or so. But, then I was joined by a few other tourists and surfers. This is not a beach for less experienced surfers. Also the beach has a lot more rocks and seashells. So wear shoes that are secure and safe.
I then made my way to Green Bowl Beach. This was about a 30 minute scooter ride from the Blue Point Beach area of Uluwatu where I was staying. It took me about an hour because I kept stopping to take pictures, video, and drone footage. You will need to pay a small amount to park and use the beach. Bring cash with you. None of the entrance areas take cards. Once you park there is a small shop where you can buy food and drinks. The hike down to the beach is long and there is nothing down there to eat or drink. So bring something to make sure you stay hydrated. This beach also has a large number of monkeys. The monkeys are ruthless. They will steal your stuff. Do not let anything out of your site. This beach also has a faily long walk (maybe 15 minutes) down the steps to the beach. There is also a bit of a climb down some rocks to get to the beach once you reach the end of the steps. This will require more mobility and physical fitness than some of the other beaches. Also know that there are women selling clothes, jewelry, and coconuts at the top of the stairs and at the beach itself. They are VERY determined. They will grab your arm and try to pull you and walk with you. They will sit down next to you and harass you the entire time you are there. So if you do not want or need any items from them give them a firm no thank you. Do not tell them maybe because they are determined to make their living. Seriously some of the most incredible sales people I've ever seen in my life.
Balangan Beach is one of my favorite places in the world. It is a bit of a rough scooter ride to get there. You will have to go onto dirt roads to get there. But, I think it is 100% worth the visit. This beach has everything. Lots of parking, plenty of choices for food, drinks, surf rentals / lessons, and even accomodations. I fully intend on coming back here on my next trip. #creatornow

Hi friends! So happy to put out another video for you. Check out the description for my full thoughts on each beach. And see my incredible sunburn even after wearing sun protection.
Note: the first beach we see is Blue Point Beach. I mistakenly call it Blue Point Beach. (Combined Blue Point and Single Fin Restaurant) This video actually didn’t render as well as the lower resolution copy. All of this footage was shot in 4k 60fps. I may upload the other copy soon so you can see the difference. Anyhoozle, hope you enjoy the start of the Bali vlog series. -Karley

Hey Karley, Wow! I didn’t think your videos could ever get any better, but I’d have to say this one would have to be one of your best ever. The drone footage was alway extremely pro but this time it is off the scale! Your natural talent combined with your knowledge for the area that you are at is absolutely world class! I’m so looking forward to your next video!!
