- Based in Dorset in the UK, Monkey World is the largest monkey and ape rescue centre on the planet. For nearly three decades, the team has saved countless primates - across 20 countries - from lives of cruelty, abuse, and neglect.
This safe haven is now home to more than 200 monkeys and apes. The dedicated staff never stop in their quest to save animals from being mistreated by owners, ending up in laboratories or being exploited in the entertainment industry.

Allison is the kind of person I'd aspire to be if I had more years left and/or was in good health. She's such a wonderful human. It's obvious how much she loves those in her care.

As infants/toddlers they are hands down the cutest of all the primate baby's, aside from humans of course!!! 😘
@@pambaxter2643 Oh I know how cute they are as babies and sound awful but there are alot of ugly human babies. My grandson was ugly but turned into a handsome young man. Sorry but true.🤗
@@newfee1967 😂 my niece was one of the homeliest lil kids! She looked liked Dolby the house elf from Harry Potter! But has definitely turned out to be a pretty young lady!
No matter how exciting the idea, not all animals should be pets!! One thing ive definitely learned since watching MONKEY LIFE!! Primates especially, need to be with their own kind!! I love this series TREMENDOUSLY ! Best part of my day!!❤️👍🏾💯

So I'm excited for tomorrow's episode, I can't wait to see how taprash probably totally misspelled her name. She is so sweet I hope she is happy at her new home❤
Thelma is truly a joy to watch, flipping, tumbling and navigating the ropes, so effortlessly. I think Thelma gave Arthur a new lease on life - the spark is back and he's going to keep up with this little gal. She's not spoiled, we call it pampered. Toperish (sp) I'm already in LOVE, she is so interesting. I think of the beginning for Oshine who was so humanized and how far she's come and I know Monkey World will give Toperish the best life, the life she deserves. Lovely of Hilal to know she's doing the best for this chimp. Toto's fur is luxurious, he is an Adonis of the Stumpies and wonderful to see Maureen eating after the difficult dental surgery. Fantastic work, Alison and John. Thank you primate care staff. Best to all.

Little chimp, Toprish(?) is gonna have a hard time, I'm afraid, but she is such a sweet girl. And she was all into making sure Allison didn't have anything in her eyes and nose, how funny!😉😆
Toprish looks so lonely. Sadly she is not at Monkey World today so it is going to be interesting what happens to her and her story.
I wonder if she passed away, or if it wasn't a good fit, and she went somewhere else??
I just read that she passed away this year. Pulmonary embolism at age 14.😢
Boy, being a huge animal lover & having had many myself, I know how hard it is mentally & emotionally to make decisions that are better for the animal & 'not' better for you. The entire staff here @ Monkey World, . . . . & let me correct myself by adding in "all" animal carers everywhere are a special kind of human being !! An Extremely special & unique type of human! Thank you all for everything that you all do to save our amazing creatures.
No matter the circumstances & how you have to do it, saying goodbye is the hardest thing.
The new chimp is so beautiful, I hope she has wonderful life at monkey world

ToTo is one handsome ugly monkey. I think him and Flo would make cute babies together lol. So sad for the Chimp taprash and for the keeper taking care of her. When they hugged outside it was so heartwarming. I sure hope she is able to adjust to life with her own kind. People just don't get how bad they ruin a wild animals life when they take them out of the wild. If they would watch this show and see the pain and suffering these guys go through, maybe they would get it.
Thelma is adorable. I completely get why they are all smitten with the baby. Who wouldn’t be?
It breaks my heart to see caregivers, so sad, but everybody seems to be on the same page that we all want the best for these primates!
Please, no more sad videos like yesterday. I'm still not over Sally leaving us!😢
I think it's important for all of us to see those sad videos. We can feel the pain and sadness that the MW staff feel, and certainly get a good sense of how deeply a death affects the peer group of the one who died. Grief is one of the things that can bond all of us, and make us more committed to doing the correct thing for rescued animals all over the world.

@@royalbookshopper I realize this is a fact of life and I do wish it would make everyone care more for wild animals. I just don't think I could have taken another death of our beloved Monkey World primates today, personally. I've been sad to see when one has passed but Sally, she was just so special to everyone, it really hurt me. And to see Jeremy with her til the end of their special bond, Allison fighting back tears, and my own love for her, was just too much to have seen another loss today.😔

Excellent stuff.... I particularly enjoy watching the social interactions of the stump-tailed macaques and comparing that to what I see when I film them in the wild here in Thailand.

Hey so I understand female chimps develope large bums when they go into heat is that correct? Don't think the normal chimps already at Monkey World are shown in that state so asking is that due to birth control perhaps,?
I would definitely agree that it's due to birth control. Now I don't have any types of degrees or anything, but it just seems to make sense to me as well! Interesting question!👍🏾❤️
Yes, they developed these bumps when in heat. Since the monkies at MW are on birth control, they do not have these.
Monkey World does not actively breed chimps, so yes, the females are all on birth control. Occasionally they will allow a chimp to get pregnant, as babies are very good for troop morale. And they do get the occasional "oops" baby as well. 😂
I cant seem to find her amongst the current Monkey World chimps, which worries me as to how it worked out for her.
Oh no! I was about to check to see if she was currently at MW.
Sadly, she passed away in February this year.

They bought her illegally, let her bond and then abandoned her. Poor girl is so depressed. She lost her world thanks to selfish people. Why not abandon your kids when they're problems too?
I love when they do Kissy Kissy with their lips, but I absolutely cannot stand to look at it when they do with her teeth. It is so disgusting and gross looking actually looks very aggressive. They should train them not to do that.
