I am so proud of you for sharing this process! Hopefully this will work well and help others who are looking for alternatives for their pets! You got this Key! Sending love Jodie!!!
Unfortunately the stem cells can't do what we need for his carpal drop, but I hope the info we share here will help other dogs that might benefit from it 😊
While it won't help stop carpal drop, I have high hopes that K'eyush will at least feel more comfortable and stop the arthritis damage. ❤ Keeping you in my thoughts buddy!
Not only do I thank YOU Jodie for taking us along to the appointment, but also to that lovely vet for allowing the appointment to be recorded. Not everyone would have been comfortable with that, so props to her too. n thanks mum for being the chauffeur for the day.
Really appreciate how the vet in this video was honest about stem cell therapy not being a miracle cure but more of a treatment to help with symptoms! Transparency like that shows they're not trying to sell you snake oil. If it can help the dog’s ankle without having to resort to surgery, seems like a promising option. Props to Jodi for exploring different treatments while keeping it real.
Jodie, I’m still praying for our fluffy boy. He was so good at the vet’s office. He is one special dog. Please let us know about his liver enzymes. From what I could understand, the doctor isn’t too concerned right now. I know Key is in good hands, and you’ll do everything in your power to make sure he’s well. Have a blessed week. Hugs to everyone from Tennessee USA. 💕🐾
My goodness, that was a lot of information. I have had Malemutes and Huskies for most of my adulthood. I am now 79 and without a dog for the first time. As they aged they all developed elevated liver enzymes, just like Key. Weight management and diet adjustment with a liver supplement kept the liver working fine. Like Key, they all developed joint disease and mobility issues. Both of my Malamutes had posterior leg joint surgery and did fine, even with the elevated liver enzymes. Diagnostic testing before surgery showed mild fatty aging livers but no major issues. Both of them were in the 120 pound range..55 kilos..one was 10 yrs old and 11yrs for the other and both did good. Both of them lived to be 13. Their quality of life was much better for those extra years. Please talk with Jamie. Sherpa had liver issues for several years before his final illness and he was a happy dog. By the way, my last furbaby died in April and he sent me a pregnant kitty to help with my grief. I am now the caretaker for mamacat and her 3 tom kitties. Never had cats before. Learning as I go.
Jodie if you’re worried about the test for Key’s liver you should also talk to Jamie. He had to have Sherpa’s liver tested a while ago-he even posted a video of the process. I’m sure Jamie would tell you everything (the good and the bad) you’d need to know to make a decision. Wishing you and Key all the best! ❤️❤️
Sherpa was on medication for his liver way before he passed! But still he ended up with massive tumours ! That’s the worrying thing, vets can miss things too !
Thank you, Jodie, for sharing Key's appointment with us. There is definitely a lot of information to absorb and go over in order to give Key the best possible treatment.Sending prayers and well wishes to you and your brave boy! 💕🐾
Thanks for taking us along Jodie- I thought that Vet was absolutely excellent, and really summarized well. All the best for Key in whatever treatment plan you come up with.
I have so much respect for that vet and her honesty and knowledge. Please thank her for me. You are doing the best for Key. You are amazing. Your fan from Colorado, USA.
Thank you Jodie for including us in on K'eyush vet appointment. I hope and pray that you can find a solution for K'eyush's problem wirh his drop foot. I also hope and pray that K'eyush's liver enzymes levels will be alright. Take care. Much love to all of you. Stay strong and please have a nice day and a great week ahead. ❤❤❤🫂🫂🫂😘😘😘👱♀️👩🦳🐺
Thank you for letting us be with you at the appointment, there was a lot to take in, Key was so good, you mum driving there and back she is wonderful, take care Jodie as you have a lot to think about ❤.
You did a great job asking important questions. I'm sorry that this wasn't the solution you were hoping for. I hope it helps you feel better to realize that what the vet said was that Key wasn't doing poorly enough in either direction for there to be a clear cut answer. She left it up to you to decide because the liver wasn't bad enough to completely forbid the procedure and because the arthritis wasn't bad enough to completely necessitate the procedure. That's a good middle ground to be in.
Brave fluffy boy Key with his brave Mum & Nan, you will be back to your usual happy carefree self in no time! My boy Ches in the sky will watch over you as will your buddy Sherps!❤
Thanks for sharing this. Kudos to the vet for allowing you to record. She was very patient and did a good job of explaining things. I hope the liver tests come out ok so you can go forward with the synovial injections and PRP. I’ve had the injections myself and they gave me years of relief until my insurance quit paying for them.
Yeah she was lovely, I asked before we started if she minded me filming and she was fine with it. I will get him booked in for the tests to check everything is ok with his liver and go from there.
Thank you for sharing Key's appointment with us Jodie, the vet was well informed and clearly showed how much she cared for Key's well-being. Finger crossed this all goes well for the fluffboi
This vet is a good one. Listen to her. I had a rottweiler with arthrosis problems and it is important to check liver and kidney regularly when you give them medication. Before and after to see if there is a problem or not. My dog was chosen 10 years ago to test PRP for her back legs. She was nearly 15 years old. She wake up well from the anesthesia and the day after her back legs were straigh. It was magical. Really. But she developed a spleen tumor and within 3 months she was gone. I don't know if it was related or not, and I regret noting because she severely affected by arthrosis and it was the last chance. That's not the same case. But listening to this vet, I can tell you, you can trust her. Wish you the best.
Key has the best Mom & Nan.🤗❤️ Thanks for sharing all this important health info. Key was such a good boy. I pray all goes well with Key’s liver test. Take good care Key, Jodie & Nan.❤️🩷💜 Sending you good vibes & sunshine hugs.☀️💞
Doesn't sound like you got the result you had hoped for, (couldn't understand a lot of it, so I could be wrong) which is a shame, you had to see though as anything to make Keys life better has got to be worth it. Thank you for sharing this Jodie,
Yeah, it wasn't going to help his carpal drop unfortunately and his liver enzymes being high need some tests before he can be sedated for any other treatment.
@@jodie_boo High liver enzymes are only one piece of a puzzle so more tests are needed. My heart goes out to you, having a pet is not only one of the most rewarding things a human can do but it's also one of the most stressful as we always try our best for them.
@@jodie_boohe probably gonna need to change his diet and some meds but since it's not that high probably it will get better in a month or so. But I suggest check for tumors just in case bcus my elderly dog had high enzymes, it was caused by a tumor and we caught it early thankfully. He ate a spoiled food outside, but vet wanted to check everything bcus he is old and we caught it and his liver was good enough to operate in a bit longer than a month with meds.
@@jodie_booAlso gas sedation is less stressful for their body. You can suggest vet to use gas considering his age and liver. My dog had a hard time with anesthesia during teeth cleaning when he was younger (vet said his heart was troubled during surgery and took too much time to wake up) but there was no complication with gas even tho he is old now.
Fingers crossed this is a great treatment. Good on you Jodi for giving Key this chance to be pain free. Key you are amazing and will be so happy very soon!!
Thanks for taking us along! When it comes to liver issues, i had a yorky mix ( American Eskimo ) who at 9 had some health issues, heart and liver. Vet told us her liver was on the verge of failing, said we could get her meds which worked half the time or her recommendation of Milk thistle, not the marketed liver supplements but just milk thistle in tablet form, we had her blood test at 3 months and her liver was no longer in danger of failing but enzymes were still high, dr said continue with the milk thistle, 6 months later test showed her liver enzyme level was a little high barely above normal and had us switch to a lower dose of milk thistle which kept her liver in check. Key looked horrified when diet was mentioned, I noticed he went to the door also. Im sure he was thinking this was a persinal attack on his fluffiness! I hope everything goes well!
Thanks Jodie for letting us hear everything. You got me scared when the vet said Key’s liver levels were up ( as I’m sure your heart pounded more than ours ). I hope everything is ok with his liver and you definitely made the right decision. ❤❤
Thank you, Jodie, for taking us to Key's vet appointment. Lots of information was shared. I pray that everything will go well for Key he is such a beautiful boy i love him so much. Have a blessed day, Jodie Nan and Key 🙏 ❤🙏❤️🙏❤️.

Look at that face!! Such a handsome boy. Jodie I'm thinking of you and praying for a clear answer for you. I hope you have beautiful weather so you and Key can enjoy the out of doors. ❤
Hello Jodie, Nan & Key ! It’s wonderful that you’ve sorted this option for Key because here in Australia we have vets that perform these relatively easy procedures with great results on our furbabies. It was something that I suggested to Jamie for Sherpa too . The reason that I’m all for it is that I’ve had it done on my knees and there’s nothing better than utilising your own plasma( stem cells) to regenerate your cell tissues in this procedure called PRP. We are all thinking of KEY and sending him tonnes of Love and warm hugs and also to you and Nan . Just know that this procedure is very safe and effective. ( In my humble opinion and experience- more so than Chondroitin and Collagen etc) . So God Bless to you all and keep us informed of key’s health ❤❤❤❤❤ Kobe & Mum
Sweet Jodie, thank you for sharing this! We all love Key so much and I'm sure this is so much more scary with the liver because of Sherpa! I cried watching this, but the vet was very good and informative! I'm feeling so crushed as well because my senior soulmate kitty also was recently diagnosed liver problems, as well as heart and lungs and trying to figure what to do to help is very daunting! I didn't know that anesthetics can make the liver worse which in my kitty's case is very bad because he always has to be sedated for even a regular vet exam due to his fear aggression. God, I just love our babies so much! I pray all the right decions are made for Key and please, anyone, pray for my Bobo Buddy as well! 🙏🐶😿🐾❤️
I am so proud of you for sharing this process! Hopefully this will work well and help others who are looking for alternatives for their pets! You got this Key! Sending love Jodie!!!

Prayers an hugs for Key.
Thank you for sharing this with us, Jodie & Key. It really helps understand your options. 🐾❤️🐾 Wishing you safe, happy& healthy days ahead.
Aww,poor Key was a bit over all the poking & prodding. Hoping the issues picked up in the tests & recovery from the procedure all improve soon.🤞🙏❤
The doctor's visit sounds so much like my visits, especially in the sense of diagnosis can still be so inexact. Love you guys. 😀❤👍
You are doing a great job for key. I think you're doing the best thing for him. I will keep you fuys in my prayers. ❤
