Unless this vehicle has a serious mechanical fault this would not be suitable for Mr Seabrook as he has a habit of buying vehicles with numerous minor faults and major mechanical faults. Good review Joseph.
I think Ian was on the right track with the Fiat Multipla, unfortunately it was absolutely trashed and abused in the name of Z list entertainment for morons.
Mr Seabrook has not had much luck with his attempts to find the ideal family car recently, has he? I thought this morning that I might put myself in his shoes and seeing if we could endeavour to solve the family's transportation problems....
I’ve just bought a Citroen Dispatch of this Facelift era, on a 2004 04 plate. It’s a 2.0 HDi forbidden fuel van on 205000 miles. They are pretty cheap to but now and great value, very practical and roomy, not fast by any means but they do the job as intended. These are still being used as Taxi’s in certain parts of the uk especially up in the north, Derbyshire, parts of Yorkshire, they are pretty rugged vehicles. I’m suprised Ian hasn’t bought one for his family before now, but then maybe the Berlingo is big enough and is probably quicker. I love mine though. Perfect for carrying “Stuff” like E-bikes and scooters and whatever else. Good review again Joseph, it’s one of your older videos, I don’t know how Ivd missed it!
Sir, I am afraid that I must have hit my head the night before and woke up believing that I was Ian Seabrook. I saw the error of my ways fairly quickly, and things returned to normal later on that same afternoon.
Good taxis back in the day, as I said before interiors not the best, however they did eat the miles significantly well. These and the Scudo were incredibly popular around my way.I drove a Citroen Dispatch it was more lively the Transit/Tourneo Connect. But the Ford was more comfortable and held up better interior wise. Being a field engineer back in the day this and the connect brings back fond memories. I was not expecting you to feature something like this on your channel sir, but I'm glad you did.
Well sir, I wasn't in my right mind yesterday, and so we did go a bit overboard, didn't we? Many reviews back in the day made the same comparison that you did between one of these and the Transit Connect, and I think that it is a good comparison between the two.
I had one of these vans a 2006 one owned for for 6 years Great power Had mine chipped to 140bhp But problems I encounted where the Airbag Squib broke pain in the arse to fix very hard to start in the cold weather nearly had to put a new heavy duty battery in it (120mha)every year, but the biggest thing to watch for was RUST on the subframe alot of them seemed to rot on the front passenger side leg Nigh on impossible to fix sold it as scrap with 247000 miles on it
Yes, the engine was quite strong in this one, probably one of the best things about it. I don't know how rusty this one is, but I am not surprised many of these have been scrapped due to corrosion. I hope Alex's one doesn't have that rust on the front chassis leg which killed yours off!
Good review Mr Lloyd, they still use these people carrier vans as taxis in Preston, Lancashire. A few years ago i was a passenger in one as a taxi and although it was quite slow and noisy, it was also very spacious and comfortable.
I am surprised how many people keep telling me that these are still used as taxis in their area! This one was reasonably spritely with the later engine, although the earlier ones would be very slow. Certainly spacious, headroom is ridiculous, and legroom is not too bad either!
I have driven a van version of one of these when I temped for a couple of weeks in late August 2005 at the Sterling Peugeot franchise in Norfolk. The same dealership where the tidy red Peugeot 205, featured on this channel, was sold! My job was to cover for the regular driver to deliver and collect spare parts. Sterling was bought by the nearby long established Ford franchise Busseys. I quite liked driving it and I remember the handbrake on the right hand side. Is Ian S still looking for an economical family wagon to replace the void left by the dodgy Multipla? One of these would be ideal. Agree that he should shift the leaky Camry if so. Oh, and well done Joseph for getting the Joni Mitchell reference in there! 😁 I was thinking of that song just before you spoke the lyrics.
Oh sir, we had to make a Joni Mitchell reference before someone put it in the comments! That right hand handbrake made it feel a lot older than it was, I think. I remember that 205, sir... Mr Seabrook certainly does need something to replace the Multipla and the Camry, as even if the Toyota was completely fixed, the fuel economy could be better, and this could be a possible suggestion.
Well I seem to be broken today! its 5am Sunday morning and watching review of a bright yellow peugeot van, thank you Mr Lloyd for giving me something to do whilst I can't sleep, great review as always.
Oh, sir! Sorry to hear that you were having problems sleeping last night. I would have thought one of my videos would be a perfect cure for insomnia (in fact there is one coming out soon which definitely is), but I hope that you enjoyed it nevertheless.
Le Jumpy, c'est tres joli, Monsieur ! Very very commendable vehicle considering the life it has led and the mileage covered. It has obviously been well serviced. I will remind you sir that the Citroën Synergie Exclusive was available with the 2.0 litre 16v in beautiful dark green, blue and red metallic paint with a beige leather interior. Just putting it out there.
Oh sir, it may have been the case, but finding one of those Eurovans with a beige leather interior and the top petrol engine would be quite difficult these days. Hopefully an automatic as well, since the manual gearboxes are a bit floppy. I think Mr Seabrook would have been impressed!
@@lloydvehicleconsulting Mr Seabrook would be in a state of uncontrollable excitement at the prospect of this Eurovan. Also yes Sir, the 2.0 litre was available with a 4 speed automatic gearbox. A fine Choice. Of course the Volkswagen Sharan did have a 2.9 litre VR6 engine but I am not sure of interior spec.
The Sharan was available with a beige leather interior, sir... I passed a facelifted Mark I Galaxy V6 today as well. It's much better to have an automatic in one of those Eurovans. I saw the pictures of the 806, and it is a very suitable specification for Mr Seabrook.
Well this is nice and bright. Although perhaps not pink enough for Mr S. I see in true PSA style all the extraneous pieces have fallen off exposing the good mechanicals underneath. Another good test sir. Pity no wiper test. ;)
The wiper test wouldn't have been very interesting, sir.. Of course there have been some unnecessary pieces which have somehow parted company with the rest of it!
