- Got this beauty used a few days ago and went for some gentle first launches today. Beautiful little model! 141g AUW with a 1s 350 mAh and a FRSky G-RX8. Unfortunately the launch peg broke loose already at the end of this session. Seems like the GFK version is REALLY fragile. I will look forward to repair the damage with epoxy soon-ish.
Amazing!! The video even loops perfectly!! 🤣😂
Thanks for commenting! I hope you still got enough sleep despite the perfect loop 🤣👌
Wow, I see your maiden now! Very nice patterned MD2, it has a cool appearance! Your flying place is very good too! Great flights in the sundown! How do you feel about flying with MD2? Is it easy for you to launch it?
Thank you! I'm still very much a beginner in throwing, but it feels really nice! I try to stay mostly gentle in the power I put into my throws so I don't really reach very high heights (I think only 27m was my highest yet), but I don't think this is something I have to focus this early on anyways.
I made a mistake on one launch causing disbalanced stress on the wing so the foam core gave way and the peg started moving / losening up a bit inside the fragile wing, but I already fixed it with a syringe and a bit of epoxy and seems to hold up very well now after the repair.
@@MoritzWeller Nice, I think your large flying field is very suitable to practise launching. You can looking for thermals above that large area. I am afraid of throwing my MD2 onto the tree, because our park is very small. So I have to take it to the larger place to see its full performance. Have lots of fun with that great glider!
@@goldenfish77 thank you! this place was a lucky find when i originally wanted to try out a different field. the problem might become that this one is privately owned to commercially grow grass to sell on rolls (e.g. for sport fields, gardens, etc) so i am still looking for other flying areas as well since I'm not sure the owner would be so happy i use his property. he probably also would say no if i ask him. i live very close to the city, so it really is a struggle for me as well to find something with good size which is not too far away and i want to avoid driving / cycling long distances if possible, too.
@@MoritzWeller Yes, I would almost say that the available area determines what kind of flight mode and model one should choose. I hope you find a good area for flights!
