Thanks for all your awesome videos. Just fixed my passenger sliding door Odyssey 2006 just like you described. Need to mark hinge with black marker to make sure it is aligned properly. Also, it might be easier to bend one side of metal leaf on cable holder so that you can insert back cable easier. Then bend back to secure cable. I found that after I replaced roller, the car would make the alarm door sound whenever I put car in drive, even though the sliding door was closed securely. I found that I needed to reset door by pulling fuse 7 under the driver's side foot well for 10 seconds and then putting it back in. This fuse is labelled BACK UP in owner's manual. This got rid of the door alarm noise and also the sliding door warning yellow light on the dash shut off.

I don't think you needed to pull the fuse. My van made the same beeping noise when I changed the roller. To clear the beep, I opened the door all the way and closed it while the van was on. Beep went away and hasn't made a sound since.

What happens if the hinge is not aligned properly? I marked mine and now the door won't shut or open automatically. If I shut it manually and try to open via power, it beeps three times and doesn't do anything.
I've tried readjusting the hinge several times, but not getting any where.

@@mine4751 How about I have the same problem with a 2000, how could you solve it?

    • @ramblinman7153
      @ramblinman7153 4 месяца назад

I believe my issue was solved after doing the power sliding door reset feature.
      The door reset procedure is:
      1. turn dash switch off.
      2. Open both doors completely manually.
      3. Pull passenger f13 for a couple minutes. Resets control units.
      4. Replace f13
      5. Turn Door switch on dash on.
      6. Press and HOLD both dash door close switches until both doors are closed and continue holding for five seconds.
Check doors. Try a second time if still a problem.
      F13 refers to the fuse.

Aww man, I just spent $389 for this exact part/fix/service at the Honda Dealer. I had the same exact part in my Amazon cart but just wasn’t sure I could fix it and put Humpty Dumpty back together again. Oh well, I’ll have the know how next time when the other side fails. Thanks !!!

I was working on a 2016 Ody with the same issue and found that even though this is a different van it was similar enough that I could use your video to help me tear down my van. Thanks, this was a HUGE help!

Mr. Zanger, great video as always. I replaced mine about a year ago. However, whenever I drive, I hear some slight sound, like metal bumping into metal. I suspect I didn’t line up the bolts exactly the way it was before I removed it to change the roller. I’ve tried loosening, jacking up the door a bit more and tightening back 2x, but still hearing the noise. Any suggestions on lining up the door properly to eliminate the noise? I also hear squeaking from the door cable. I spray some lubricant on the cable and it stops.

This was a greatly helpful video. My daughter and I replaced both sides in less than 2 hours and they work very well. Not perfectly aligned maybe but they open and close smoothly enough.

Great video. Like others, after watching a dozen videos, with a dozen personalities of varying competences, I found this one perfectly straight-forward. Thank you very much. However, and no one ever mentioned that the system would need to be reset. Or have others been able to do this repair without needing to reset? I found a method which has mixed results, for me it was not successful, involving the pulling of four different fuses (located across the various fuse boxes), requiring a series of actions, including manually opening the doors with the PSD switch OFF, then Ignition to ON, PSD switch to on, push button til door closes, etc. Didn't work for me. Tried it a couple times in case I flubbed the first on. Any suggestions?

Just replaced my driver side roller and man - what an amazing video.
GUYS! DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR ROLLERS! Take it from me. My driver side door was acting funny (I could pull it out away from the van a little) and I neglected to fix it. Later my cable got snagged and, not knowing what to do, I resorted to cutting it to free the door and get it working again. Bad, bad, bad move. I will end up paying dearly for that as I now have to replace the cable.
The problem was that the roller had lost a wheel so that it was only operating on one wheel and one nub. With this video's help it literally took me 30 mins to get the roller off. And I wasn't going fast at all. Had I changed the roller when it started giving me problems, I would still have a functioning automatic driver door. I'll be checking my passenger door in a couple of days.
@MrRangerZr1 - thank you for an incredibly clear, concise, no BS repair video.

I can help but wonder is a little grease on the rollers and/or rail would help those bearing last longer?

this is exactly what needs to be fixed on our van. I'm not physically able to do the repair myself right now, post-op for 8 weeks. the dealer wouldn't quote the repair.
I'm wondering what the time frame was for y'all to do yours?
