Are you an incoming freshman? If yes then as far as I know you don't apply. They use your stats to decide. If you want to transfer into the honors college then you need to apply. You need to maintain a 3.4 GPA or higher to stay in it.
Bee G, I love how close everyone here is and the campus is great. I feel like I've met my best friends here, and wouldn't want it anyway. Everyone is going to have their own situation, though. It really depends on what you do with you first year here.
***** I go to UMass amherst but all my friends from UMD are either transferring/have transferred or just hate it. if you're looking for the traditional fun college experience come to Amherst, its also the best umass out of all the umasses

***** make sure you visit the schools first though. my roommate is a transfer from UMD and she said she hated it there
